Very few times in life can you write a recommendation for someone who literally saved your life. That is the case with Dr Rohan Ramakrishna. A few years back he removed a plum sized tumor from my brain. He is perhaps the most professional surgeon Ive ever dealt with. I would highly recommend him for pre and post surgical consultations. I contacted Dr. Ramakrishna for a second opinion and to see if there were possibly other less invasive approaches after another Neurosurgeon proposed immediate craniotomy surgery to remove my golf ball sized meningioma. He explained that a craniotomy was the preferred method due to the size and location but chose a 4 month wait and observe stance upon which showed no further growth or other symptoms presented. I happen to believe in the bodys intelligence and ability to heal if given the right conditions and really appreciate his conservative approach...I feel I am in expert hands and highly recommend him.

Dr Ramakrishna has met with me twice thus far over ZOOM telemedicine appointments during the Covid pandemic period- he did not promote surgery, unless my meningioma was symptomatic - he has been very thoughtful and concise about my options. I highly recommend him...

Dr Ramakrishna is really professional experienced caring doctor. My niece went to his hospital for emergency second opinion, his resident staff quickly arranged surgery for next morning 8 am, he explained to us in detail of operation before surgery, come out to tell us surgery is very successful with total remove of tumor under microscope. He and his team followed up closely with recovery.

I met him 2 years ago when he told me I had a brain tumor that needed to be removed. He was so kind, caring and thorough when explaining to me how my surgery would go. He estimated the surgery to be 8 hours and I would be his only case that day. Well, he was so meticulous my surgery took 11 1/2 hours. Because of the great job he did and the care he gave me, I’m 2 years post surgery and look amazing. Back to working full time and daily activities are back to normal. Met with him again this week for my annual Brain MRI and he took the time to go over the imagines and answer all my questions. He didn’t rush me at all. I am truly blessed to find him and have him taking care of me. There is no need to look any further for another doctor this is the doctor you want to care for you.

To start I want to simply say that Dr. Ramakrishna changed my life positively. He took his time to take the right decision regarding my hydrocephalus. Before the lucky day when I met him, other doctors in Staten Island were pushing me to go for a shunt. Dr.Ramakrishna offered an alternative surgery called ETV ( Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy ). So far so good. Its working and 5 months after the surgery the MRI proved the successful results. Another amazing and surprising point was when I looked at the mirror and my hair wasnt missing. :)Dr. Ramakrishna is kind, supportive and modest person to communicate with.My experience with him and his group was successful. Thank you for everything.

Dr Ramakrishna has been a pleasure to have as a physician. He clearly and calmly spells out the significance of whatever symptoms are being examined, and in the same manner spells out all options that need to be considered. He also makes sure everything is clear, and takes the time to solicit questions. Overall, meetings with him do not feel at all rushed. And, he is very personable, and pleasant to talk with. I recommend him 100%!!

From beginning to end Dr. Ramakrishna took the time to make me, and my family, as comfortable as could be under the circumstances. I would give Dr Ramakrishna 10 stars! We were blessed to have found him. My husband received the upmost care possible during the most difficult time one could ever have. October 2018 my 48 years old husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung metastasis to the brain, my family was devastated. Thanks to this amazing human being, being the first to treat him and doing the craniotomy, We have hope. Today 7 months later my husband is well on his way to living a long life. This is the most friendly professional hospital I have ever been to. The doctors let you know that you are important to them., They listen to your concerns and provide answers to your questions. The staff represents their doctors well. If you have to go to a hospital, go to this one.

I’m sure he’s a great surgeon, but he sure could not seem to see ME, the person in front of him. I felt all he saw was my little meningioma. Much too little for someone of his tremendous ego to even be bothered with. He was belittling and denied many of my symptoms as psychological and totally unrelated. Typical surgeon. This one happens to practice in the most disturbing medical facilities I have ever seen. The crushing security, the depersonalization, the dirt, the mess, the smell, well, I just didn’t find this visit very healing.

Amazing care of my father - saved his life at 98

My mom had a neurosurgery three years ago at NYP-Cornell. She was given a great care by the team of Dr Ramakrishna, every single person (from the receptionist to the doctor) was super nice, patient, and helpful. Thanks to Dr Ramakrishna and his team, the surgery was very successful and my moms brain tumor measured almost 4cms was completely removed. No further surgeries were needed afterwards. She has been recovering very well ever since, and now only needs to check in every 6-8 months. I highly recommend Dr Ramakrishna for anyone whos seeking neurosurgical advice. Im 100% sure you will be well taken care of by the team and have an easy time scheduling appointments and etc.
