If you struggle with mental health and are seeking help and support, please avoid Mount Sinai ER. They will send you to the Comprehensive Psychiatric ER. And there you will be faced with staff and protocols that dehumanizes patients. People who struggle with mental health are human beings, They should be treated with kindness, respect and sympathy. And not with dismissiveness and contempt which only traumatizes patients in the process. I cannot stress enough, please do not go to this institution if you are seeking mental health support.

Use only if you are very seriously sick! The young doctors are poorly trained in basic healthcare treatment, however Staff Nurses and PA are great competent professional but ER itself seemed unclean dimly lit poor ventilation and worst of all the dismissive rude inattentive doctors who are in no way fit to receive emergency cases! If you can NYU is better option!

Neglectful experience had to beg nurses for water, yes water. I regret coming here but needed the closest hospital possible and feel like I’ve actually become sicker. I will not be back. Also doctors are dismissive and tried to Diagnose me when I have clear medical records in front of them. One doctor suggested I LEAVE WITH A 103° FEVER. I insisted on staying but should’ve left and went to NYU. don’t risk your health with these unprofessional nurses. One nurse told me to “stop crying”. Only nurse that was kind was Roselyn.

Went to visit my grandma in the silver buidling, 8th floor. I got to the floor and I was told to put on a blue gown and wash my hands and put my bag inside a orange bag. I told the nurse the patients name and she still took me to the wrong room. I checked up on my grandma which btw she hadnt received water for 2 days. (The nurses will try to play off everything) Previously my grandmother had given me complaints about the nurses not being there for her and not helping her, so I was constantly be calling the nurses and they would yell back at me as if I was my fault or my grandmas. Exiting the floor i asked where i could dispose of the gown, I proceeded to wash my hands and I later saw another nurse and she saw me removing my gown while i still had my jacket on and she rolled her eyes at me as said why i didnt take of my jacket.

Administrative staff was horrible...however MD Alex Bonilla was phenomenal! Very well mannered, polite and comforting. It’s a shame you can’t go to the emergency and request to be seen by a MD who truly cares! You rock MD Bonilla

I came in having an anaphylactic allergic reaction which is time sensitive and appreciated the quick, effective treatment I was given at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Emergency Department. The staff, nurses, and doctors were kind, listened to me, and explained things well.

Staff were rude, I had to wait for 5 hours in the emergency room of the hospital with an open wound where they told me I would need to have 6 stitches, but didn’t do anything because it was a dog bite and could get infected. After 3h waiting I saw the doctor, she asked if I’ve had the tetanus shot before and I didn’t know, I looked it up on my files and went to show her, she told me she didn’t needed to see it and that she would give me it anyways, the nurse walked into the room to give me the shot, I told her I’ve had the shot 2 years pior, so she just walked away without saying anything. My wound really did got infected but because THEY DIDNT CLEAN MY WOUND before make the bandage! Now is infected and they didn’t even prescribed me any medication for pain, only for infection and didn’t gave me instructions for when to take it or not also.

I was here yesterday in the pediatric emergency and I am very happy with the service that they provide to my son and also to my daughter that was not sickThe nurses and staff were very nice and made sure my son was ok before discharging him, they offer chips and juice to my daughter someone came to play with her ,give her crayons to color and she even got a tablet to playThis was the most pleasant and comfortable ER visit that I had in my son 17 years of age

Very old and dirty. There are always ambulances idling by the entrance emitting diesel engine fumes. Additionally security does not enforce their no smoking policy. As you enter or exit the building youre forced to walk through a toxic fog of cigarette and/or marijuana smoke. Go elsewhere if possible.

ER Lost medical records and didn’t fax them to my doctor for my follow up, rude staff on the phone, no one can be reached for a follow up, had to physically go back to the ER to get my records sent and they charged a fee to send the records they didn’t send over in the first place. Go anywhere else if possible.

The worst hospital Ive ever went too!! I went in there because I had serve abdominal pains, and uncontrolled bowel movement. They put me in a regular chair in the triage next to a man who was making bowel movements in a bed pan. I was literally watching this man deficate in front of me, and the smell was unbearable. I walked right out of the er and went to kings brook. The staff is unprofessional, the only way your get seen and taken seriously is if your Jewish or if you come there on a stretcher. The WORST experience Ive ever had in a medical facility in my life!!! If your in serve pain or actually need medical attention for something serious DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE!!!!
