Brought in our 2 year old for a head wound (she fell down in the apt). Checking-in was pretty smooth and quick. Wait was not long. Doctors and nurses were very friendly and capable. Facilities were clean. We felt like we were overreacting to bringing our daughter in because, in the end, she didn’t need stitches. But the doctors were very reassuring, sensitive and we felt like they really listened to our concerns.Side note- the entrance to the children’s ER is the same entrance to the normal adult ER. They will lead you toward the children’s wing after check-in.

I just had the best hospital experience of my life. I brought my son in after he had a bad bump on the head. We immediately checked in, waited less than five minutes to be brought back to a bed and saw about 10 doctors and nurses in less than 20 minutes. Each person was nicer than the last and all were well informed. I feel confident walking out of there, knowing my son’s care was in good hands.

Staff is friendly but be prepared to wait for 5+ hours. 3 hours for xrays results because they’re understaffed! Really NYU? Only gave the stars for doctors and nurses and workers because they are super nice but there’s something very very wrong in their system that makes them give inefficient service.

Are you KIDDING me with this emergency room!? This is NYU for Petes Sake! 2 unsafe experiences. I wont make this mistake again 3 times. I brought my son here at 3am in March with difficulty breathing, blue lips and a temp of 103. He has chronic asthma so with children dying of the flu with asthma I of course rushed him to the ER. The arrogant Doctor said he had the croup and was about to discharge us. I insisted on a flu and strep test. The female doctor (I wish I took her name) rolled her eyes huffed and puffed and did the test against her judgment...and guess what...both can back positive! Then today my other son was brought in with a temp of 103 and after waiting 3 hours they were discharging us and again I insisted they look in his ears and check him for strep. The doctor said it was viral and unnecessary... Its almost 8pm at night and they still have not called us back to tell me if the strep test was negative or positive (5 hours after self discharging). They said they would call is in 1 hour. Do yourself a huge favor. If you live in the neighborhood go to any urgent care and if its after hours go to the st. vincents emergency room on 7th and 15th!! THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE/JOKE!!
