TL;DR (Abstract)Chronic case mis-mangement, lost appointments, endless waiting room days, details intentionally or unintentionally withheld from the patient, and prioritizing billing (squeezing every last billable dollar out of the treatment) over patient care, repeatedly. My father repeatedly waits hours and days as appointments are delayed or straight up forgotten about. One doctor wont hear about such and such appointment, one script will get forgotten or lost.My father had a serious infection at the chemo injection (IV) sites, and they forgot to write and send a prescription for antibiotics to the pharmacy for a day. He had just had chemotherapy, and his infection wasnt healing for a week. Unacceptable. This could have cost him his life, and it would have been Mt. Sinais fault. He had never suffered from non-healing sores or injection site infection previously - he self injects and receives regular acupuncture and has never experienced this problem before chemo. Mt. Sinai dropped the ball in responding.Sometimes he will show up for chemo, and they dont have space, so they send him home for the night (60 miles away), to return the next day (another 60 miles).People have jobs, and bosses and accountability, and cant just let days drip off the calendar. This is not compassionate. This is not putting patient care first. This is wrong.Sometimes he has to wait until 9 pm for a 9 am appointment - unacceptable.Mt. Sinai sent a practitioner to administer a COVID test before his first round, but forgot before the second round and made him come get the test in person (60 miles) , his caretaker went home (60 mi). He waited for hours, they had no bed, they sent him home (120 more miles for the caretaker to go, and to pick him up). Then he had to drive him the next day.Instead of sending another covid test they cost the family 360 miles, gas, wear and tear, frustration, possible exposure to disease while un a medically induced immunodeficient condition, and 2 family members each 2 days of work. 4 grown adult work days gas, tolls, parking Thats gotta be a thousand dollars lost right there. They were/are unwilling to give him a nulasta injection (as a discharging inpatient after chemo) to self administer, because it can be only be billed a certain way to outpatients, so he has to go home, leave and come back again. Thats a 180 mile round trip for someone whos body and immune system has just been devistated, DURING A PANDEMIC. If Mt. Sinai had even a shred of compassion this would not have happened.Get this, Mt Sinai even has satellite sites closer to where he lives, and they pretended they didnt know what he was talking about!I can go on and on and on. Each event more insane and frustrating than the next.Avoid Mt. Sinai, there are other options.

Clean and all of the employees are courteous and friendly. The doctors are the best I have found and I am a regular patient at HSS, Weil Cornell /NYP so many others.By best I mean they take hours and hours out of their day to listen to you or at least they did to me.They are top in their field but some how this hospital is low key.Its not known but it should be!There is even a piano player in the lobby! The surgeons do not leave scars and are so very warm and professional!
