I had my pixie reshaped and styled by Hollywood. She is AMAZING!!! Im always very self conscious about my hair when it grows out and how it shapes my face and she always ALWAYS delivers! I also love that shes Latina because she understands my hair type and hair struggles (😭) I will continue to go see her everytime my hair needs TLC & highly recommend her services😄Thank you Hollywood!!

Haircut was not at all what I went in to ask for. Shared 4 photos of myself in previous haircuts I liked and several photos online as reference. Several times I had to correct the older lady cutting my hair who had shaky hands and did not take my preferences into consideration while doing my hair. A couple times she said she preferred my hair a certain way which I specifically told her no, that’s how my hair goes and she did it anyway. She was rude to her coworkers and really difficult to work with as a client. Avoid the older Russian lady with red hair..

Havana is just so talented and skillful with hair! Run, dont walk, to have her cut/style your hair!

I agree with the 1 Star review. Have had awful experiences with Dramatics, my last time with Havana. My hair was put under the dryer and turned red - she did a correction and it didn’t work (red ruined my hair). Voiced the concerned and the manager told me I would have to pay full price, booked it to get it fixed then they cancelled my appointment. Extremely unreliable - please avoid at all costs. Took $$$$$ and a lot of time to get it fixed elsewhere. Please listen to the other reviews - with so many other places now opened please consider all other options. Any option will be better 🙏.

Great price for the location! I spent 4+ at the salon getting a balayage which I was sure was going to be over 300+ and it was well under that. Hair came out amazing, will be coming back

I just walked in for a haircut tonight (Thursday) around 6:30pm. Didnt wait long at all, maybe like 15 minutes? I got a shampoo from a very nice woman and then a wonderful haircut by Havana. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and she talked with me to make sure she understood what I wanted and what would look good. She was quick, granted I didnt have long hair to begin with, but the cut itself was maybe about 25-30 minutes if that. She also gave me the option of whether I wanted to blow out my hair for an extra charge, or I could sit under the dryer for nothing extra. I was just going home afterwards so I chose to sit under the dryer, but I really appreciated her giving me the option. The salon is a very friendly and inviting place. Havana and the other stylists I spoke to were very warm and welcoming, even with it being so close to closing. I was done a little before 7:45pm and the salon closes at 8pm. I only paid $30 for a great haircut and amazing atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend!

Gave me one of the worst haircuts. I went there to get a normal haircut I get from any other salon and they managed to mess it up. The spanish lady there who was cutting my hair said my hairstyle is too Chinese when Im a half Japanese, half white male. I literally told her things any hair stylist could simply do in 10 minutes and she managed to mess it up.

I had the most frustrating experience.I called a day or two ahead and I was explained my pricing options. I could either book a wash/cut/blow out starting for $60 or I could book a $35 wash/cut with no blow out. I booked the former and then when I arrived today, I asked my lovely stylist (Valentino) if I could just do the $35 wash/cut because it was so hot out. So that’s what we did.Then I get downstairs to pay after and the first woman at the desk says I can do that - if I book for one kind of appointment, then I have to keep it - well that seems like a scam. But I went and wasted 20 minutes of time having my hair blown out (Valentino did a lovely job - my frustration was not with him at all).Then I go down to pay and the manager is there and she gives me another story. The $35 wash/cut is only for walk-ins. But in the next breath she says they’re also not taking walk-ins.So I ask her, why was I told this option? And why was I given a different reason before by the last woman working the front desk?We went around and around for about 10 minutes because she seemed to have 5 different excuses/stories for why I couldn’t have the $35 wash/cut that I tried to get first.It was terribly frustrating. Then after they tried charging me $75 for the cut I was told I was getting for $60, they finally charged me $60.The manager here needs to be explained what her policies are that she claims she has no control over.Again, Valentino gave me a lovely cut and dry and none of this was his fault.Anytime I seem to visit a Dramatics that’s not the on on 16th and 5th, the management seems to be all over the place. Truly sad that the 5th avenue location closed. I’ll have to find a new salon now.

Had to taper my pixie cut, and just randomly walked in and asked for a haircut. I didn’t have to wait more than 2 minutes. June did my haircut, and she is absolutely amazing! I love my usual hairstylist, but June did an absolutely amazing job! Thinking I may be going to her from now on. Oh and You can’t beat the price! Great service and great stylists! I highly highly recommend!

Diamond is the one to ask for if you have curly hair. Shes good with all cuts (Ive sent her my husband and his son) but curly hair presents a particular challenge and Diamond more than rises to the occasion. I was thrilled to find her.

1st time getting my hair cut here. Receptionist said she didnt have anyone available but as a walk in I expected a bit of a wait, so 10mins was reasonable.Love my cut. I believe the name of the stylist was Amber but not sure. This woman was such a great listener! I showered her pics of what I wanted and before she touched my hair I had a full consultation and explanation of what she could and could not get my hair (thats wavy and pics were of straight hairstyles) to do.Very happy with my cut, the service, the experience I had at Dramatics! Very nice!

Ive had my haircut by Brooklyn twice and hes fantastic. Knows hair well. Would recommend him to anyone looking for color and hair.

Havana has been my hairstylist for several years. She is the best stylist I have had and, in fact, recommended her to others. I have total confidence in Havanas sense of style, so much so that when I wanted to make a drastic change I just let her do her thing. Not only is Havana a fabulous hairstylist she also has a great personality!

Virgo was fantastic for giving me a new look, textured pixie with side-swept bang! Icy blonde highlights, its just what I wanted! She was super, worked well with me. Pricing was as expected. I had never been in before, I will be back. Staff very friendly and professional at front desk check-in also.

My hairdresser is excellent Her name is CharmShe knows hair from cuts to color what she can do to what will be best to protect your hair from any damage. My problem was her assistant did not help her the other girls offered me something to drink asked if I needed anything all were very professional but one. Which Charm had to stop and rinse my hair find the toner etc. Everyone basically went home including her assistant. I felt so bad others had to wait as Charm did everything possible to get me done. I finally said not to worry just blow it dry so were can all go home. She offered to stay and style but it was so late I said no next time I would not make a late afternoon appointment I had a 4:30 appointment

I just left dramatics on the upper west - i had the most amazing experience with Gia - shes a sweet woman with a great smile ,and very talented- she really took good care of me giving me the best service,- her techniques are very unique and it shows at the end oi f her performance- I will def go back to see Gia-

People were nice, my cut/trim cost $30.I have a regular hair dresser so just wanted to clean up the ends. I got that done. I don’t know how experienced everyone is but the person who cut my hair did it like she was in class, separating sections. It was cute. Not too scary because she was just trimming. But I could tell she wasn’t very experienced.The lady who washed my hair didn’t do a good job. The product was not fully washed out and while she was washing I was getting splashed :( I showered as soon as I got home to get all the shampoo/conditioner out of my hair.

I love the folks at this salon! Clean, professional, trendy and highly skilled I have seen Lulu now for over 3 years and commute 50 blocks north just to keep up my do.

Went for a simple trim and my stylist completely ruined my layers. She cut one lock of hair a good inch shorter than the rest of my layers. Now I have to put up with a bad haircut for two months before the layers grow out and I can go somewhere else to fix my hair.

I have come here a number of times, but today was definitely my last. My usual hair stylist was out ,Havana, so I took a chance on the next available.After she was washing my hair quite vigorously, I notice my forehead is bleeding. When I bring this to her attention with “ohh I’m bleeding”, she says “Ohh no, I’m bleeding”. She was washing my hair with an open cut finger! When stated that I wished to leave, I was “consoled’ by the other associates who said “it’s not a big deal, this stuff happens’. Even the manager didn’t seem phased by this! I will NEVER be coming here again, and advise others to do the same, where proper grooming isn’t practiced.

If you get a good barber, youll get a good cut. Havana is my favorite. Ive been to most barbers on the upper west side and this over is on my opinion, the best value.

Got the worst bangs yesterday with Amber, they dont at all resemble the photo I brought of a hairstyle Ive had cut many times before by many people at different levels of salons, all of whom did better. A regular of hers apparently had an appointment that my service was running into or almost running into, and they let that client come upstairs and complain about it to Amber rather than asking her to wait. So, Amber stopped working on my hair immediately, blow dried it as quickly as she could, and I ended up with an unfinished haircut that cost me $65, which I then tipped $20 on because Im not an *ssh*l*, but Ill never go back. I dont know how the bill got that high to begin with as it doesnt seem to be reflected in the online price list (my hair isnt super long or difficult), and wish I had just paid the same or $10 or $15 or $20 more at a nicer place with time for me. Ive had my eye on an upper east place with stunning Instagram photos that charges $75 for a cut and blow dry, and I should have waited for an appointment there, because i didnt even get a good deal on my inferior service. Given Ambers other good reviews Im inclined to blame it on the receptionist not knowing how to control clients, but I guess Ill never know.

I just had my haircut this morning and was shocked. I told the hairdresser to cut my hair very short (just trim and even out) to the point where it was barely noticeable, and 10-15 chops and 4 minutes later, thats what she did. So I re-considered my original ask, and said, well maybe a few more chops would be nice, and the reaction I got was shocking.The hairdresser told me that she had done exactly what I had asked, and that if she cut more, that would require her to cut all over the head again, and that she would have to charge me for another haircut! She said she had spent half an hour cutting my hair when she had barely spent 4-5 minutes doing so.In my 40 years of getting my hair cut, I had never ever heard something like this before, and was appalled. I have been going to Dramatics UWS NYC for three years, every single month, this will be the last time I will ever go there.

I only go to this location for a haircut because of Violet whos excellent at her job and this Dramatics is in my neighborhood. The staff at the front desk are ridiculously rude and I understand that this is a very common feedback. The last time I reviewed this place I gave a 5 star rating solely for Violet. I hope as a regular patron, mine and others feedback on the staff are seriously considered.

I have been going to Dramatics Broadway since I arrived In NYC. It was a random choice but such a good one. They are professional artists. Hollywood cut My hair for The second time and My haircut has never been so amazing! She is carefully listening to you to understand what you want and let you know about The feasability and The options you Can consider! My asymetric bob is a hit! I never had so many compliments. Hollywood will take good care of you!

I love Dell. He makes you feel so comfortable with whatever it is that you need. He takes away your anxiety. Whenever I feel like doing something totally diffierent I go to him. He will tell me if it will work for me or not. I never have any regrets leaving his chair, feeling more beautiful then when I walked in! Only problem, because he is so popular its sometimes challenging to get an appointment. But he is worth the wai! Kudos Dell!!!!

I spent over $200 for a Brazilian Keratin treatment. The treatment that the hair stylist was using was in a Poland Spring bottle with no indication of which brand it was. I was reassured that the stylist knew what he was doing as he convinced my that he applies the treatment often. Immediately after having my hair done upon leaving the salon it began to friz up from the humidity in the air, something which should not happen. When consulting another hair stylist who specializes in this treatment, I was advised that a water down version of Keratin had been applied and despite that not enough was applied to produce the correct result. I basically blew $200 for no reason. Thanks Dramatics : (

Have been to this location 3 times. First 2 where ok nothing special but did the job, I have been going because of convenience. Yet last visit I received the worst haircut I have ever had. Didnt have my glasses on and it looked ok got home and wow. Nothing is even... have bald spots in random locations... cut my hair way shorter than i asked. Looked better going in than coming out. Have to go get this fixed somewhere else. I Will not be returning. Learned my lesson.
