I had my first visit here today and couldn’t be more thrilled with everyone who works there! I was greeted by the friendliest support staff and then met with Dr. Leah (I‘m sorry I don’t know how to spell her last name). She spent time with me, listening, making me feel heard, validating my knowledge and experience. I am so happy to have found this place!

It was a wonderful first time experience in an integrative medicine practice. The level of attention, personalized care and caring was superb. We were there for about 3 hours in an outstanding care. Outstanding clinical care model and providers. Strongly recommend if you want to significantly improve your health and needs help.

Lea the NP was so thorough, attentive and friendly during my annual check up. I’ve never had a doctor or nurse be so thorough before and I’m very impressed. The front desk is really great too. Jennifer was so patient and understanding getting my first appointment booked. I highly recommend Dr Beer’s office!

Dr. Beer kindly explained everything with detail and I was able to understand the course of treatment fully. His assistant Binta was very helpful and kind as well. Jennifer was so kind and helpful. She printed all of notes for me and was able to show me where to find things on the patient portal. So happy to begin treatment !

Dr. Beer is a warm, smart, person who likes to answer all my questions. His treatment suggestions come from his curiosity about me and Functional Medicine. He has been an internist for at least 38 years. I feel like I am talking to a doctor who wants to help me and enjoys solving problems.

Dr. Beer is a true gem of a doctor. Hes super knowledgable and also organized! He is thorough and has a great program for functional medical care that looks at your whole picture, and is also in-network and can be your PCP (depending on insurance). Literally the best, and with a caring and super responsive office staff as well. I have yet to find someone who has all these skills after 18 years in NYC! Highly recommended!

Leah Geoghegan, Nurse Practitioner at IMNY, is amazing and a rare find in the medical world! Every interaction is excellent (and theres been lots of conversations). Shes incredibly knowledgeable in so many areas of functional medicine, detail oriented and thorough, and above all really cares about making the whole patient experience a positive one. My finance and I have been searching for years for a practice like IMNY where they actually take real time to get to know a patient and his/her history and dont rush us at the office. Dr. Beer is fantastic as well - he and Leah are a dream team to work with... finally!!

Website is misleading. They claim they offer primary care and accept insurance but they are actually NOT accepting new primary care patients and have no waiting list. Instead you can do their functional medicine treatments which, of course, are not covered by insurance and which are very expensive. Integrative medicine for the elite, I suppose.

This office was an awful experience from the welcome and the prices are the equivalent of highway robbery in the world of medicine. The nurse who attended me (Mary Beth Chano) charges $100 for 30 min and the first visit is minimum $400 (insurance not accepted). May I restate the fact that she’s not even an MD. We chit chatted about my wedding dress for 30 min of which that added $100 to my one hour - $400 consult. I was asked to pay $600, luckily I stood my ground a bit and the receptionist , reluctantly deducted $100. The nurse didn’t take my entire blood panel only my vitamin levels and three months later I’m still waiting for my results and a follow up appointment to address the Lyme Disease concerns I went in for originally. I highly disuade anyone from going to this medical office - for any reason . There are better equipped and far more affordable functioning practitioners who are dedicated to integrative health and a patients wellbeing. I can’t speak about Dr. Beer directly because I did not meet with him. I can appreciate that it’s a business too but this specific business does not have the patients (clients) best interest at heart. If it did we’d be able to notice their empathy or at least sympathy from the onset and the receptionist is unfortunately the epitome of NYC rude. Read other reviews, you’ll pick up on the red flags, had I, then perhaps I would have canceled far in advance. I arrived to my visit wanting to cancel because it didn’t feel right from the second I walked in. The receptionist told me I’d be charged half the consult if I canceled on the spot. I thought, well, let’s see what this is about. I’m always up for investing in my health. I agreed to pay $400 and ended up talking about my history with Lyme (which Nurse claims to have Lyme too) receiving zero information in return regarding my healing process; no tips, no diagnoses, and no follow up call for the next appointment or at least to review blood results. I also received a bill from the laboratory separately. A bill with no results again. Next appointment would have cost another $400 or so to receive a result update and likely more chit chat. Not to mention some two or three tests that had to be sent to other laboratories costing upwards of $700 total (without result reads). Sad to see that there are such promising opportunities for people to get healthy and the system never manages to let down the guinea pigs wanting to achieve higher levels of health. One could say we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t. Definitely , don’t give up your search because all things are possible and there are people in their present jobs pursuing to build a world they want to live in where optimal health is achievable. That said, don’t throw your money away at this medical office. I would never write a bad review and it’s been on my mind for months. Today , I thought , perhaps this review will save a few from being let down as I was by professionals we choose to put our faith in. If you’re struggling with Lyme or simply want to get healthy , look into stress free management and herbs that heal. Healing herbs have absolutely helped me and I don’t medicate nor do I have any tough symptoms to deal with and I was diagnosed two years ago. Managing our terrain (ecosystem internally) is key to optimal health with or without Lyme. I believe the body can heal itself and learning about herbs and the right foods to eat are 80% of managing your terrain. The other 20% rely on surrouning yourself with trustworthy individuals.

Importantly, Dr Beer pays attention to more than the standard metrics. He brings important factors such as stress, diet and exercise into his assessment to give you a clearer picture on what you need to be doing for preventative care.

After a pretty serious infection and many other issues - I have been so happy to find a medical home here in NY. All of the providers I have seen have been smart, compassionate, and helpful. 2 thumbs up.
