Had a truly horrific experience here tonight when I went in to get help for an ingrown toenail. The physician, Dr. Azcuy had possibly the worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced and pretty much talked me out of getting a lidocaine shot before taking a scalpel to my swollen, throbbing toe. I’d never had experience with lidocaine and she made it sound as if it would hurt worse than the incision she was going to make, so I opted out. I’m not sure if she’s just a sadist but I went through some of the most excruciating pain of my life and she just walked away, not even bothered to clean up any of the blood or offer me anything for the pain as I was visibly and very audibly bawling my eyes out. When I finally left, my discharge sheet didn’t even have the correct toe on it (they don’t know their right from left). I will absolutely be calling the BBB and seeking other discourse after this experience.

Literally the rudest staff I have ever met. Their security follows you around and intimidated you as well as will not stop staring at you and making comments. Then the charge nurses are NEVER nice. These people act like you make their life more difficult instead of trying to help you. F*ck these people

I had a horrible experience at Touro ER on Prytania so when I was concerned that I was having some kind of reaction to my medication or that I was severely dehydrated after experiencing that prior, I knew I should try a different ER. I decided on oschner for its location, but I’m so glad and so thankful to this emergency room. After a horrible experience at Touro they were not only excellent physicians and staff who knew what to do, they were also extremely empathetic, kind, calming, reassuring, and just wonderful. I not only felt physically better after leaving, but all the damage from my experience at Touro felt a little less traumatic thanks to talking with the staff at Oschner. From the nurses to the women who checked me in, everyone was incredibly perfect and for such an awful physical experience I’m glad I now know if there’s an emergency again that I can go to Oschner without the added stress and worry of what the care might look like.
