I switched to Dr. Perlmutter and Dr. Ranz after a very poor experience with Dr. McCabe. Dr. Perlmutter has no bedside manner and acts like he could care less. This year for my eye exam I saw Dr. Ranz . After He told me that I have a significant eye disease he stood up, said he was sorry and as he was walking out the door he said don’t start smoking. No guidance? What to expect? No websites to check out? No education material?I felt abandoned. If you are looking for a caring ophthalmologist this is not the office for you.

Like several of the other write-ups, Dr seems competent, but fairly condescending and a little flippant if you ask questions. Mono-syllabic answers and all but sighs at your impertinence. His staff, unfortunately has adopted his attitude toward his patients and customers. “They are to be tolerated, but with a helping of distain.” The lead nurse was brusque and rude. Inserts herself into the service with no more than a grunt or sigh. Generally doctors realize that their bedside manner is lacking by hiring staff that can “make-up for his deficiencies.” Not the case here. I arrived early out of respect for his time, but waited 2:05 minutes to see Dr, with no apologies. I know your eyes are critical, but this guy isn’t curing blindness. Competent, but not good enough to put up with his awful staff and total disregard for your time and confidence. There are other eye Drs in town. Pick another one.

My wife was trapped here for hours. Dr. Ranz has no respect for anyone’s time and is only concerned with getting his fees. Go anywhere but here.

I have not been satisfied with my visit. Doctor does not take patient seriously. I was not able to express my opinion as the doctor constantly cut me off. It was a very small room I got treated in and nevertheless the doctor was walking up and down very nervously, part of the time yelling. He is a very capable doctor but absolutely has no bedside manners.

My mother is 93 and our last appointment was at 4:00 and we were finally called back at 5:30. We then waited in another room and was finally seen and finished at 7:00. They make no effort because of her age to make her appointment any easier. We wait 2-4 hrs every visit.
