Dr. West and his P.A., Katrina Powers, are friendly and thorough. They explain your options but do not try to force you into any procedure. Instead, they wait until you are ready for it.

I love TOA. I am always treated with respect and in a timely manner. Dr. Routh has done both my knee replacements. I felt well informed and confident with both procedures. Dr. West will be doing my shoulder procedure, and again I feel informed and confident. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The office is very efficient and I didnt have to wait long. Dr West is a very competent surgeon. He did a very complex surgery on my sons knee two years ago and the outcome was awesome.I went for knee pain and he recommended replacement. But when I expressed being scared he was comforting and offered other options for pain management,so I could put off the surgery a little longer. When I do decide to do it, I will definitely use Dr West !

The pre check in is the best! So convenient!!!! Easy to do and when I got there they took my right in. Everyone is so friendly, and Dr. West is so easygoing. He didn’t try to convince me to have surgery; he left it up to me. No pressure. (It turns out he was right from the beginning, though. I do need surgery! But he gave me all the time I needed to make that decision for myself.) I have heard great things about TOA and now I’m a believer!

Haveing both shoulders replaced. Dr. West replaced the right one about four months ago. I have to say, the pain went from a 9.5 to a 1.0. Im 60 years old, so I never planned to be pain free like I was 20. He did a great job, and looking for him to replace the left in about 2 months. Thanks again Dr. West.

I get it this place is super busy but, this really takes away from proper patient care. I took my son here to be checked out he didn’t have a major issue but I found it very rude after waiting an hour in the lobby we get to a room and waited another 15 mins the provider came in and his phone rang, he proceeded to take the entire phone call in the room with us there about another patient. This is unprofessional and a HIPPA violation in my opinion. The nurses and technicians are just yelling out everyone first and last name and information not cool at all. This is a huge facility and they need to come up with a system that is much more confidential. They could be a lot friendlier as well. I seen not one smile. Probably won’t be returning ever.

A very positive 1st visit to TOA...everyone on staff that I came in contact with was very helpful. The only negative (if its a negative) is the amount of time spent in the waiting room (30-35 minutes) after my appointment time.

While Dr. West was not unfriendly, I did feel very rushed by him. He spent less than 5 minutes in the exam room with me. He only asked a few questions and when I would answer each one, he would cut me off before I could finish. I wasn’t able to go into detail about the pain I’ve been experiencing at all. I really don’t feel that his assessment is correct due to not being able to tell him everything but we shall see.

2015 I tore my labrum and damaged my bicep tendon. I struggled to find a reputable surgeon in my area at the time. 2020 moved to middle Tennessee, saw Dr.West and was had my surgery scheduled within 30 days after my first visit. Dr. West did a reserve shoulder replacement on my right shoulder last year. He never makes you feel like you are being rushed out. He is genuinely concerned about his patients. I couldn’t be more pleased. Very efficient and organized office with minimal wait to check in, on to X-Ray with maybe a 2 minute wait and taken to Doctor’s examining room. Dr. West is probably the most accommodating physician I’ve ever met with. I had a few special needs and circumstances with recently moving here from Texas, just turning 65, and my husband retiring at the end of the year. Dr. West seemed happy to quickly resolve all my needs, and my shoulder replacement surgery is scheduled for December 30! It could not have been easier! Dr. West knows the correct way to greet a person looks you in the eye and is a slow handshake for a person with challenges like me to get a grip and shake hands correctly. Dr. West recently replaced my hip. I’m very active and waited much longer to replace than I probably should have because of hearing all kind of hip replacement stories, the good and the bad, with friends. Other TOA Dr’s were recommended to me because they do primarily hips but I decided after seeing Dr West a few visits to have him do my surgery. I had the surgery preformed and he did an absolutely perfect surgery! I was outpatient, walked out of surgery center, listened to his instructions and have had perfect recovery, pain free and have not felt this good walking, exercising and such in years! His skill and care are second to none in my opinion! So blessed I chose him, and of course I highly recommend him to my family and friends!

The surgery that Dr West performed on my wrist has been a wonderful experience for me. I had a severe break in my wrist and 9 months out I can’t tell it was ever broken. I have no repercussions at all from the break or the surgery. I am completely amazed at how well it has healed.

I broke my hip almost 6 weeks ago and am walking without a cane. I had a rod and 2 screws in my hip. I am not a young woman but they have taken excellent care of me. I am very satisfied with TOA!
