I was in shock at how unprofessional Dr Raval was. I had spent 20-30 minutes on the phone with reception when making an appointment for the first time to ensure they had all of my medical records in advance of my first visit. They called the wrong hospital and as a result didn’t have the correct records or recent X-rays. I also specifically asked to get one knee injected with a steroid and lubricant when making the appointment, which took 6 weeks to get. I called 8 different doctors to find one who would do both together. Well that didn’t happen because Dr Raval started blaming me for not having all of my medical records in a folder to hand her. Wasn’t that why I spent time giving all those records to her receptionist 6 weeks earlier? Then she started to blame her receptionists, followed by downplaying the need for a gel lubricant in addition to the steroid. She was quick to blame the patient, her staff and the actual medications rather than simply apologize for the misunderstanding she and her staff had.

I have always liked Dr. Raval as a person. She is very kind and knowledgeable, but she is incredibly dismissive and just does not listen. Years back, she couldnt figure out where all of my chronic pain was coming from so she gave me the fibromyalgia label and sent me on my way to a pain clinic by the age of 20. Years later Im age 26 and found out I have scoliosis that is causing my pain. Now doctors dont listen to me and blame everything on my fibro label. Fast forward to 2020, I am incredibly ill. I am having fevers almost daily since June and flu like symptoms that come and go, joints that dislocate, and I am just unable to function. I have now been sick for sick for 7 months. I came to see Dr. Raval about this, and she just wanted to treat me for fibro. She just wanted to prescribe me nerve pain medication that I was not interested in. She did not give me time to explain how severe my symptoms are. She refused to run tests again even with my worsening symptoms...her reasoning was that I had them in 2019 and it wasnt necessary to repeat them (even though I have new and worsening symptoms). She recommended a pain clinic AGAIN. She just does not care to help. I would never recommend anybody see Dr. Raval only because of how dismissive she is and how quickly she gives up to find the root of the problem.
