I’m an RN and have been a patient of Dr Gamard’s since 2006. Dr Gamard literally saved my life back in 2006. He’s extremely competent, thorough, caring, and has a wonderful bedside manner. As an RN, I hesitate to recommend just one physician, however, when someone asks me to recommend a good Internal Medicine physician, I immediately suggest Dr Gamard. Not only did Dr Gamard save my life in 2006, he gave me back my mobility without using opioids...something an orthopedist couldn’t do. As an RN, I’m picky about where my physicians attend school and do their residency...Dr Gamard has excellent credentials. One negative...Dr Gamard is so good and popular, it’s difficult to become a new patient, but keep trying. BTW: we moved from Mobile to Denver for 6 yrs. I traveled every year back to Mobile to get my annual checkup with Dr Gamard. Health care in Denver was horrible. Thank you to Dr Gamard and his staff.

Office personnel friendly and helpful. Dr Gimard can be understanding and will listen and other days he is quite busy, I understand this. Overall happy with him.

This was in 2016...but i dont see this particular doctor improving any time soondoctor gamard comes across as a competent doctor...friendly...concern...about your well being...but if read my story and see if you might think otherwise...i leave the decision up to you...i went to see him in april 2016 because my husband has him as a gp...and even though i had reservations about him i decided to go thru with the appt...because of insurance reasons...and my unfamiliar dealings with other doctors...plus i had pressing medical concerns...they sent me a letter telling me to be there an hour before time as i was a new patient...i went to the appt...we were there an hour early as directed...did the necessary paperwork and then waited almost 1 1/2 to see dr gamard...finally my name was called...the nurse or lpn who was taking my vital signs was standoffish...abrupt...and kinda unfriendly or snooty...my husband and i couldnt decide which..she really didnt say her name but she had long dark hair and was expecting in july..we waited again...i finally met with him...it relieved some of my fears...i did a blood lab in the building and went home...the following days the nurse called...the same one..abrupt...short...fast...blood test results..,which i didnot understand...but since she expressed no concern i thought everything was ok...i was scheduled to see another doctor the following month...so i went to this next doctor...which is another story...and he basically said nothing too,,,so i went home...i asked mike about the lab tests being online because i wanted to see them...it is the ichart for mobile infirmary website...you sign up and they send you a letter telling you a passcode.,,so i waited for that...it came...i got online...i saw my lab results...and it was worse then what i was led to believe or even told...i researched it...and it scared me...because i had been told that my kidneys were fine by a previous doctor in january 2016...but i found by researching that they were not...from what i found was that i am possibly ckd stage 3b...plus the second doctor wrote on the ichart that i had poor kidney function...he never said anything either,,, i took control...i changed everything...my diet to veg...no salt...water...etc...i called and talked to dr gamards nurse named jackie...who i dealt with on another issue i have with gamard but i may post on this site too...i told her i wanted to make an appointment with a the kidney specialist..dr gaines...for them to make a referral..jackie said she would...and that the kd would call me to schedule it...and that she would send the records with it...i told her that i was upset that dr. gamard did not tell me my situation fully,..she seemed concerned...that was on a thursday,...so i called dr gaines office on friday to see if jackie had scheduled the appt or send the information...i talked to tracy...she said not of yet but to contact them on monday...so this is where i stand now...with no guidance but my intellect and research...plus gut feelling...so you as the reader of these comments make your own decision on whether dr gamard will have your best interests at heart,..i personally am looking for a new general practitioner...check out my yelp review on this incompetent doctor..
