Country own hospital, easy access with bus and train, very crowded

Unfortunately, although the doctors and surgeons here are noteworthy, the nurses here were awful. A family member of mine was in a very bad accident and airlifted to Ryder/Jackson. He had two surgeries and almost full body road rash. When I arrived he was physically stuck to the sheets by open wounds with blood everywhere. I was appalled and called for a nurse, he told me he’d been doing so and no one came. He was right, no one came until I “annoyed” them 5 times. A nurse finally came, administered pain medication which was an hour overdue (day one out of surgery; can you imagine?). Most of the nurses on the floor were very rude and not helpful at all. The medication and vitamin schedule was ignored and the whole process was brutally painful for him. They also “ran out” of non stick bandages for three days. Fortunately, one of his surgeons who came to check on him was our savior. We mentioned issues we’d been having and even he was upset by it. He brought a nurse in who miraculously found these bandages after all this time. It was a painful process to watch and I wasn’t the injured one. Once we received some of the non stick bandages the nurses still wouldn’t answer calls or come in so I was bandaging him so he wouldn’t stick to the bed sheets and be in even more pain without the right routine of pain medication. Now, there were 6 of the nurses who were friendly and helpful and did what they could; but the bandage outage was hospital wide apparently and wasn’t a whole lot they could do. The nurses I praise were just on schedule and his pain was managed better/enough that he wasn’t shaking and screaming in absolute agony. Accompanied is a picture of what one of the nurses did. A job well done? I think not.

Ive been to three major hospitals in Miami for basically the same condition. Jackson is by far the best. I had a preconception that it was a charity hospital therefore probably not so good. I was absolutely wrong.

They gave my boy a brand new heart they took very good care of him. Thank you Jackson Memorial Hospital. Theres not enough Stars to rate your care for your patience there.

Never been a patient here. Always been on the other side of the interaction. Physicians and ancillary staff typically fantastic. And witg the large number of students care is anytging but lacking.

I will tell you something as a nurse that used to work there, if your case is impossible, we will show you that its not! They might not be the nicest but they are the smartest. And I will state that there is NO other trauma worth looking at but Ryders. We bring the dead back to life and they all know it!

What it comes to Healthcare I Give It 2 Thumbs Up but the staff could be a little friendlier

I just recently got a kidney transplant, (6/26/2018) at this hospital. Although JMH took its time to do it, but they are the best. The doctors are top notch. My surgeon, Dr. Morsi, is young , intelligent, caring and has silky hands. I did not feel any pain. In fact, I did not have to take any pain medication after surgery, just Tylenol. In addition, Dr. Ciancio, Dr. Chen, Dr. Guerra and Dr. Pagan are very attentive and truly concerned about every patient. I would really recommend for you to sign up for Jackson Health System Patient Portal. In here I was able to check my labs every day, and would ask my doctors about the results. This is an extremely important tool. You are the ultimate responsible person for your well being. Also, have handy the Hospitality number. They are located on the first floor at the West Wind. The center is called , Vumi. In here, the employees are in charge to help you resolve any problem you might encounter during your hospital stay. These people are wonderful and very helpful. Ines, who works the night shift, gave me so much comfort and support. My nurses were also very caring and attentive to my needs. Just remember they are humans and have a lot on their shoulders. Positive attitude goes a long way for a good, pleasant hospital stay. Overall, I am thankful for every single person who made possible my transplant and my recovery a very smooth one. May God bless every single person who help me during my stay.

I went to emergency Room . And the service that I get it excellent . And e.r the people was very nice to me. That was Monday. Then next day the same thing.they send to heart app.to do same test of my heart Mr.Williams was very kind to me. He did very good job. Then me back to emergency room and still they kind. Mr.Raul was very fun and make laugh. I said thank you for everything. The service they have with in the doctor was very goog. I will back if. Need to come to hospital I can. Youre are the best............2/9/16.............
