Although the employees and doctors are nice, the system of this clinic is terrible. I get referrals for other patients, delayed in referrals, doctors never respond to inquires sent via the patient portal, nothing requested through the patient portal is processed or acknowledged. You will never get a call back from the nurses. And the wait time, if you go in-person, 4 hours easy, with an appointment.

Ive been going to chi Doris Ison location for over 30 years. Its a one stop shop type of place meaning I get everything I need in one visit. The staff are very understanding and always willing to help you accomplish your needs. The doctors take their time to hear you out with all of your complaints and concerns. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my care.

I would give 10 stars but only 5 are available. On 10/19/2021 Dr Moises Riveron was extremely empathetic, professional, caring and thorough. He and my check in and check out staff Exceeded my expectations for service in every healthcare setting I have been in. I hope CHI continues to lead in this way.

Unless you dont have insurance and need to get on a payment plan I would not recommend any of their locations. I tell my doctor how I feel and he ignores everything I say. My condition never improves but he stays on the same course of treatment. I actually have my primary doctor giving me the medications I need. Ive had so many doctors in this place and they are all the same cold and indiferent.

When something keeps recurring you better check yourselves, you people at CHI.

I’m so happy that I found this medical center. It’s close to home and all my appointment are done at the same location. From doctors to specialists to laboratory for blood work and more. They even have a pharmacy. Also received my 1st covid vaccine here with no wait no problems. One stop for all of your needs. No more running around from location to location or getting referrals what else can someone ask for??? Staff has been very friendly and accommodating.

All staff I came into contact with were extremely helpful and friendly. I found the facility to be very well organized from everything including the parking, initial greeting by staff and getting to where I needed go. The procedure itself also went very smooth. Dr. Veronica Alvarez Galiana is quite possibly the best gynecologist in South Florida. After years of suffering chronic pains, a few months ago, I visited her office in search of answers to my suffering. After a few tests, Dr. Alvarez Galiana discovered fibroids in my uterus. We immediately scheduled the procedure for removal. What has impressed me most about Dr. Alvarez Galiana is her bedside manner. She is a wonderfully kind, caring and empathetic individual. She stuck by me through the process and afterward. She took her own time to do personal follow up visits, when she didn’t have to, as she also has a wonderful team of nurses and consultants at her disposal. With her customary sweetness, she answered all my questions and assuaged my concerns. She also responded with precision and without hesitation every time I requested for another test or a follow up examination. She is a doctor that truly listens to her patients. I could not be more grateful for everything she has done for me. After the procedure, I no longer have pain in my abdomen, my spine or my knees. This is how much my overall health was affected by this uterine fibroid. But, I am most of all thankful to Dr. Alvarez Galiana for the extraordinary human being that she has proven to be. Strongly recommended. If ever I needed to seek out her help, I would do it without batting an eyelash!

Not a very well-run establishment. Came in early for a rather urgent appointment at 1p, only to find that my doctor left for lunch at that same time. Currently waiting almost an hour for her to return

The medical center is poorly run. It took about 45 mins for registration to talk to me at all. After registering another 30 mins went by without being called in. At that point I went home without being seen. I’ve never waited more than an hour for a doctors appointment before especially when the secretary claimed the provider was not with a patient and that I would be next. After an hour and a half there I went home. I couldn’t imagine waiting two hours for an appt.

The worst!!! I went for emergency room, they said I had to pay $35. I paid it just so they can tell me I needed another appointment. And then I receive 2 bills from here saying I need to pay some other stuff when they didn’t did nothing. This is fraud!! I will for sure report them. They only want your money. I went there around 1pm and I got out at 7pm. Just for them to tell me I need another appointment and charge me for nothing. They said they help people and is for people with low income but they still steal from us. THIEVES!!!

It is incredible, only one 1person in the lab doing absolutely everything. Paper work , take out blood and on top of that teaching the students how to take out blood .Lady very helpful but absolutely too much for her .

Absolutely the worst to get a hold of nurse or doctor through their stupid answering service! My mother has been a patient here for 20+ years and honestly the service keeps getting worse. You could be dying and demanding to speak to your doctor or the nurse and they refuse. Please consider wisely before sending your loved ones here, there are better options and unfortunately my mother is a creature of habit and Im having to constantly deal with these problems.

Made an appointment for 9:15. Arrived 30 minutes early. Over an hour later I’m still waiting to be registered. On top of that we’re in a pandemic and there is nobody sanitizing the surfaces in the waiting area or registration. I’ve seen about 50 people touch everything in the vicinity. I’ve seen people go to the bathroom and not even wash their hands, yet they have no staff to wipe down or sanitize areas. Then half of the staff is wearing masks beneath their noses! How can you work in a clinic and not wear your mask correctly?! This place is a zoo and I’m upset I wasted my time here.

Ok if I make an appointment at 2, it’s to be seen around that time by Dr.Dean. I was there till 3:15 till me and my husband left. Some people who got there after me were seen before me. Horrible first time experience for a pregnant person who just wants to find a primary ob/gyn. Lady in front of building was rude, meddling and tried to fight me. Gross service; first visit is the last.

The service was organized, courteous and efficient. While it took a while, you could recognize it was because of the volume of people needing the service and they always made you feel like you were not forgotten.

I went there for both of my vaccines and they were very organized. Highly recommend!

Today I had a bad experience, my Dr appt was at 10 am, and an employee, a lady in the family Dr front desk, with bad attitude shout me, disrespectfully, I did not know that they are not accepting my insurance company anymore. Went in without an appointment because I had high fever. There was a line of about 10 people. Considering I went in there without an appointment it took a little bit longer because they had to register me and ask questions. I thought the process was fairly fast. The staff treated me nicely and the PA that took care of me was very good, friendly and informative. The place looks clean and theres an information desk where they can direct you if you are lost.

Not to bad for my fist appt. my appt was at 2:0pm and I left the center at 5:30 I had to wait to long for my medication! I’ll consider if I’m coming back or not

Horrible medical center and not up to par with Covid guidelines. Numerous staff and patients in the waiting area were not wearing masks.They will bill you and not explain what the bill is for. When I called the billing number no one answers. CHI will continue to bill you for something that was already paid for. Ask and keep all your receipts. CHI will tell you that they only accept checks but you can pay via Credit Card on their website. Pay by credit card so you have a paper trail. I’ve changed doctor’s and paid my dues; however, they continue to bill me.

A couple of years ago I was at a bad job, no health insurance and needed to see a doctor. somebody recommended this center because it was wasnt too expensive. Well, they were right. I got excellent service, knowledgeable and kind staff and not excessively long waiting periods. I was even able to pay in installments at one point. I also have to add that everything was clean and organized. All this applies to the pharmacy as well. I definitely recommend this place.

CHI is a good place to go for your medical care, the staff is nice and professional... just sometimes it takes a little longer to see a doctor when they kind of busy, ... but after that everything is good, most of the doctors work at Jackson South Hospital .

Wife went and was seen by midwife. Felt like home because we just had our 2nd child in water. Very relatable, and she even knew my midwife.

As a provider and a patient, I was really disappointed with the way I was treated today by their staff. They do not have any reliable certified doctors who attend to the patients needs. Yes, it is extremely cheap and the wait time is short but I am most interested in recommending me the right treatment for my medical needs. Which they did not do. I do not recommend this practice to anyone due to their careless malpractice. If you want a peace of mind that your health comes first this is not the place for you. They should not use their mission statement as patients needs come first.

This location has employees that have tested positive for COVID-19 and the clinic has not notified anyone. They remain open and they dont warn us as patients, nor the employees that they have positive cases amongst their staff. I was there 5/29 and the OB department was running smoothly. Monday they were closed. I had to go back for a different reason and on Tuesday the area where I was Friday was closed. Someone was trying to downplay it but still showed lack in care. Nothing was sanitized.

When my doctor transferred me to make a phone calls on a phone call to make an appointment no one ever answered finally was able to leave a message but of course nobody has called me back.

The experience was great. It’s was SAFE, fast, and everyone was extremely nice. 5Stars

This is the absolute worst place I have ever been. What is the point of making an appointment when I still ended up waiting over an hour and a half. All for an uneducated doctor who didnt understand authorized paperwork I had previously from my primary doctor. Never in my life have I been so angry with an entire facility before. Seriously dont waste any of your time here.

Even though they have a wide variety of services it is impossible to get anybody on the phone - have been trying to get a fax number since 8.30 am this morning and was just able to get one. advertisement while on hold claims they care for their patients, but obviously they dont care for their patients time. customer service agent tried apologizing but its not their fault, these centers are just too crowded, underfunded, and understaffed -- look for somewhere else

Save yourself time, NEVER GO HERE!! EVER!! third time & my last. I am still waiting to be seen. My childs apt. Was at 10:30am. I arrived an hour early knowing from last time I spent 7hours here for a simple stool sample kit. I am now doing the same. Its after 1pm AND STILL HAVENT BEEN SEEN. The nurses are rude, all the residents were just singing happy birthday an having cake. While not only myself, many others have been waiting since 930a.m. last visit thy left me in the room for 2 hours. When I came out. They said, I thought the other nurse checked you out. Dont come here

I went to this place a year ago and every time I go is even worse. The reason I went to this place was the insurance I have is very limited but they are abusive the waiting time is outrageous more than 4 hours is not common. The customer service over the phone is also terrible I had to deal with a woman called Latrice she is so unprofessional . Referrals another nightmare, if I dont follow up could take months for someone to take any action. This place definitely should be audited by the state and also the insurance companies they can remove them from their network maybe if they lose some business they start to appreciate their customers, because whether we like it or not the health industry is now another business to make money..so sad places like this exist !!!

I’ve been coming to CHI for years. My doctor 👨‍⚕️ is amazing 😉 The front desk staff are very helpful and always willing to help. The have a blood lab 🔬 if u need to get checked for anything. They have a dentist, hearing doctor 👩‍⚕️ Psychiatrist And a mental facility. They have a Obgyn and plenty other health doctors. Plenty of parking and bathrooms. The facility is very clean 🧼 I RECOMMEND THIS CHI TO ANYONE. It’s better to be healthy and get ur check ups. 🤗

I like my sons new Phychiatrist Dr. Howard hes very knowledgeable and he explains everything in detail leaving nothing out and my wait time was not bad at all I waited like 25 minutes at the most so I was pretty much in and out a reasonable time so no complaints over here.

I wasnt to sure at first to go to CHI Dental but I went and they help me with the issue I was having.

All my experiences with the Community Health Center have been good, with the exception of one. So much so, that Ive thought Ive had better treatment here than at some reputable doctors offices. Like in every other field, not every employee is great, but my needs have generally been taken care in a way that I have to commend. Sorry for those who have had a bad experience, though.

He has been delivered ny medication or external cream since 2017 spring, always on time and very friendly, has humanity as well. Its a community clinic not a fancy clinic. As a full time student I cant afford prescriptions or doctors fees. I get amazing prices for my prescription so Im greatful. Btw, Ive been to paid doctors visits that can take hours before being seen. It seems like that is pretty standard no matter where you go.

I will say, as someone who was unemployed when I discovered CHI, this place was a godsend. It only cost me $3.00 dollars for my appointments with my phsycologist and my psychiatrist. As an uninsured person, I never even dreamed I would be able to recieve care anywhere, let alone that I could pay for it with pocket change. Their perscriptions are not priced too high either.That being said, the wait times are absolutely horrendous. I had a 8 am appointment to meet with my psychiatrsit and I did not get seen till about 10:30. Then I found out my doctor had called out and they had to squeeze me in with another one. They didint bother to tell me this until I had been there for an hour and a half.So, if you are someone in crisis, have to be under time constraints due to a job, a child, or what have you, or just someone with little patience, then this is not the place for you.However, if you are someone who is unemployed, uninsured, and willing to do whatever possible to get the care you need, then this is the place for you.P.S. this location does not do Saturday appointments but the West Kendall Campus and I believe the South Dade Campus does. No one bothered to tell me that either until I had asked about 5 different people. In fact, one woman told me none of their campuses do Saturday appointment.

The customer service by phone is the worst because they make you wait for half an hour and then cut and that happens every time you call. Very cool the person stays listening without giving you any help says goodbye and hangs you. call as 5 times and the same thing always happens.

Ms. Vazquez is absolutely great. She listens to you and actually takes the time to explain things to you. I could not have had a better experience. The wait is long but it was worth it.

Great Doctors, Nurses, Workers in general. They help you without discrimination and make sure that you are well. I never had a problem setting up appointments either at the Kendall Clinic or the Doris Ison Health Center. If I win the lotto one day, I will donate half of the gains to the Center.

Call center keeps calling me offering me services I do not need. When I try to tell someone not to call me they quickly hangup and call me back the next day. Even after being added to the do not call list. Im making the BBB aware of your practices if you continue harassing me with your calls you will leave me with no choice but to take legal action and yes Ive recorded and documented every call!

I can sum up Community Health of South Florida (#CHI) in three words, once upon a time. That said, I still think CHI serves the community but not to the extent and the intent of the original founder. The problem with CHI, is its survival is emblematic of the manifested high costs of healthcare in America. Consequently this healthcare provider for the indigent, no doubt has fallen victim, endemic to its own disease of over expansion and lost purpose, fierce competition and absence of a clearly defined mission for the disadvantage.Look, CHI is now the last resort for people who cannot do any better but to go there and get prescriptions mainly for diseases such as mental illness, diabetes and high blood pressure. Consequently, matters of mental health and internal medicine should be their main focus, that said, areas of pediatric, dental and vision as services for convenience.Otherwise, services such as gynecology and obstetrics should be outsourced because the foot traffic is just not there. Besides, the overall goal of a community health center like @CHI should be to engage in preventative medicine such as proper nutrition and regular exercise to its patients, rather than reaction to the practice of prescriptive medicine. Hence, the lack thereof of #CHI bona fide offerings beg questions such as : What programs are available for breast, colon and prostate cancer screening? What happens beyond screening? What auxiliary outreach programs are are available to help the disadvantage? What food share locations for the hungry do you have in your Rolodex? Are patients aware that @Publix offers free medication for diabetes and high blood pressures, and etclisten, the one great thing going for CHI and maybe one of its best assets is its medication prescription program in which one can get three months medication for free from the drug manufacturers, for example, insulin and you pay a nominal fee of $4 for three months worth. Now, the nominal fee is increased to $10 for each month supply. So instead of paying just $4, you pay a total of $30. At one time the copay to see the doctor was $25 increase to $35 and expected to rise. Given the high costs of operating the multiple facilities, one does not expect CHI to employ first or second tier doctors to write prescriptions because its main function is to handle check-ups and address routine care of patients, otherwise, send them on to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further needs assessment.

Ive been going here for many years, you do have to wait a lil longer, Ive not had any trouble with a provider here, they are awesome and explain everything. The staff is great very helpful, but some employees talk down to patients. They keep it very clean.

If 0 start is an option I would definitely put 0 as many as I could. Everytime I call, they keep on either hanging up or the representative would say transfer to the right department when she does not know what I am calling for. 1st visit that I had with an OB GYN was freaking horrible and never came back for the follow-up. Reps over the phone does not seem to like to do their job...AT ALL... listen, if you dont like yall jobs then QUIT AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE. Dont make patients have a lot of inconvenience and this kind of horrible rating. Jeez!

By far the worst place to go. Screw up your appointments. My pregnant daughter decides to go here only because they are open on weekends. They do not see you on a month basis and on your last weeks good luck. She has insurance and this is a life lesson for her. NEVER TRUST clinics. Take time off from work and see a PRIVATE OBGYN.I would give it no STARS but it will not post without at least one. (AVOID THIS PLACE)

If I could give this place 0 stars or negative stars I would!! Ive been an Obgyn pt here for the past few months and it has been the worst experience of my life Ive seen 3 different providers here and two of them were very nice and attentive but the midwife at the office JULIA DEAN is HORRIBLE! she is very judgmental in the way she talks to me and my husband when we ask her questions , laughs at the things we ask and respond to her making it very uncomfortable for me especially because as a 5 month pregnant woman and its me and my husbands first time ever expecting we dont know a lot of things and would expect the midwife helping us to be nicer and more attentive , my biggest issue with her today was that she told me IM TOO FAT! in those exact words! Im a little over halfway thru my pregnancy now and I have been told by everyone else how good Im doing Im all belly my face hadnt gotten fat or anything like that and I have gained between 20-25 pounds so far but Im 58 and at the start of my pregnancy I was 140 lost a few pounds and then after the first 2 months is when I started gaining weight. today was the final straw im never going back to this place and dont suggest anyone else does either. I dont think its appropriate to tell a pregnant woman shes fat ! the midwife herself saw me and my husband were getting upset and she laughed again and said ill stop talking now. another problem that came up was that I have not been confirmed the gender of my baby yet, I had my ultrasound last month and the lady told me it was not clear the baby wasnt in an easy position to confirm the gender when I asked the midwife about it today she said that that was not a good enough reason to request another ultrasound so I asked what other way can I know the gender of my baby to what she responds is by the ultrasound only and I told her exactly but if it was unclear I need to get another one done she laughed AGAIN and left the room told me I can go outside to wait for my next appointment. at my first visit with her I should have know it was not going to be a pleasant experience , she was very judgmental about the fact that I had had cosmetic procedures done (tummy tuck and breast augmentation and lift) she was asking why I would do such a thing to my body and I let her know I had lost about 70 pounds and had loose skin that I wasnt planning on living with anymore. and when she asked me if I was planning to breast feed I responded if I get milk I would , I said this because my mom never got breast milk when she had me well JULIA DEAN responded with a smirk on her face did she even put you on her breast because if she didnt milk would never come out , and I got mad and responded of course she did thats how she found out her milk never came in I wasnt getting anything from there. So after this long post letting my issues with this midwife in particular and giving a bit of background to readers you would see Ive had weight issues and body issues and thats a trigger for me it hurts and depresses me so much when this subject is brought up I a switching to a new Obgyn!

I would not recommend CHI to anyone. Poor service, long wait times, cant get to speak with your healthcare provider on the phone if there is a problem. Have to go in person and wait. The phone service is sub par and the agents who respond are usually not helpful. Difficulty reaching pharmacy to refill medication by phone. Took weeks to resolve a billing error made by CHI. If you are uninsured try your best to go elsewhere if possible.

I am given one Star because I cant write a review without click on a star, it should be 00000 stars. This review is only for the department of Referrals. They just ignore the referrals the primary doctor requests. Doesnt matters how many times you call to find out the status of the referrals, the answer is they dont know, in others words they just dont know after 2-3 weeks that / those referrals has been requested by the primary Doctor. This is a nightmare to get a referral and and it is any abuse and disrespect the the patients . Please fix it .

I went in for a wellness checkup and they ended up and they ended up making me wait for 4 and a half hours hours. When they finally saw me they said they had to list it is an emergency visit. When I finally saw the doctor after patiently waiting in the lobby for 4 and a half hours I told the doctor what I thought was the issue and all he did was agree with me and send me a oral cortisone. I basically had to wait in pain for 5 hours just to tell the doctor what the problem is. The Doctors name was Edgar A Nunez and i highly recommend you stay away from this place unless you Nunez no other option.

Would not give any star, poor organization and very bad treatment with the patient, I went to a day of vaccines for the school of my daughter, I was told on the phone that I would need not carry documents, just my ID, once there, but it wasnt true, they do not agree? plus a nurse, separate me from my daughter (12 years old) to sit her away (because nurse needed that chair), and sit my daughter with other strangers, but 2 minutes later, the nurse shouted again to my daughter and to try to send it much more far from me, we are not cows, that was enough to leave, I hope I need not visit this place anymore. We came for a service, not to be treated as stupid or like cattle.

Theyre making people wait in line for 2 hours with no warning that they wont bother testing you unless you have a 102+ fever. Doctor that meets with you is really nasty.

Every time I have come for medical services here I have been treated with kindness, care and respect. Yes, I have had to wait to be seen for a an hour, or two or maybe three but as a single mom with two kids and no insurance and a preschool teachers salary their prices cant be be beat. Thank you Community Heath of South Florida for all that you do!!!!!

This center has very poor customer service. Those who answer the phone has absolutely no manners or care to help. They put you on hold forever and have an attitude when they finally are the line. When they dont understand you (english) instead of ask you for clarification they simply hang up the phone. I will try to find some other place.

Horrible. They cancel your appointment with no notice and no phone call. You fight to find a parking spot and then youre just SOL. And do you think they help schedule you a new one? NO. they tell you to call after you had been on the phone 4 weeks ago for 30 min scheduling that one. I Ditched them, called bayan health and got a appointment the same day. Chi - You are horrible. Leave behavioral health to the professionals. Lucky I wasnt in crisis.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is absolutely the worst! They could care less about you or your health. After 14 year of using CHI, I will be making changes. Ever since they hit the honey pot of Obama Care, CHI has lost all sight of their original values... greed is the new montra.

The worst place ever. They are always leaving you on hold. The referral department is the Garbage .Also the wait time is off thecharts..If i am dying and this was the only place that can save me..Let me Die!

Average time waiting in the lobby:1-2 hoursAverage time waiting in the doctors office:1-2 hours. I used a stopwatch to measure the time. So at least u have 4 to 5 hours free and that of course you are willing to waste them sitting in a lobby. Id suggest you to go CHI. Good luck

My child was being treated there for behavioral health. The doctor left and now I’m being told they don’t have anymore to treat him. When you call no one is able to give a straight answer. So what is a parent/ patient supposed to do. Isn’t the care provider supposed to provide care? Or at least provide other options? All around service is horrible
