Experienced a crisis when I arrived it was nice once I was allowed in the room with everyone else. I got the lay of the land then I wanted to speak to a nurse Dr someone. Someone who cares Noone truly cares there it is evident. There were 2 gentlemen one day shift one night shift they had a sliver of compassion probably peer pressure got to them. I do not think a veteran in crisis needs to go to CBI! I could go on but for what good. I sat in a chair for over 3 hours until I truly got to speak to a provider. I was voluntary sent by MPD.

What a joke! This place should be ashamed of the services their agency is supposed to provide. I had high hope when placing my schizophrenic niece there but they were dashed within 24 hours when they let a young, homeless schizophrenic woman out to wander the streets. UNBELIEVABLE, the mental health system is truly broken.

This place was absolutely traumatizing. I have celiac disease and they didn’t give me gluten free food for my entire stay. I witnessed so much abuse and it left me worse than when I went in. I was court ordered so when the psychiatrist insisted I go on a medication that makes me puke and have really bad nausea, I complied because I was told that’s the only way I could get out. It wasn’t clean at all and the staff (except one guy) were all extremely rude and condescending.

My experience was one I do not wish on my worst enemy. While the nurse that I had most communications with was nice the overall environment was frightful. Yes it is pretty full and all you get is a chair among everyone. Everyone in there had levels of mental health crisis and I personally do not feel it is effective to have everyone in the same space. I agree with several that the cleanliness was less than acceptable and it was frightful when some individuals got angry. It felt dehumanizing and it affected me negatively with zero help in return. The horrifying individual that was supposedly a doctor was the worst. He accused me of being another patient that he had seen the week before. He kept insisting that I was this person. I kept saying that it was not me and it was my first time in such a location and that I was told this place was going to help me with the situation I was experiencing. He would look at me with dead eyes with zero compassion and zero interest in helping me. He spoke to me in a condescending manner and refused to talk to me as a person. He kept trying to push medications on me when I was told I would have someone to talk to. I let him know I was not interested in any medications I was interested in getting help.He was abborant and does not deserve to be a doctor. He is the last person who should be there for those that need proper care. Please do NOT send anyone there and seek other places if you need help. This place was my personal experience in a version of hell.

This review is for John Hogeboom, CEO of Community Bridges, I wanted to share my story and experience at Community Bridges. I am a surviving COVID-19 Psychosis patient. I was admitted to the hospital on July 3rd, 2020. I was diagnosed with meniac COVID-19. The doctor at Honor Health petition me to Valleywise to receive further treatment.Valleywise had no beds available so I was transferred to Community Bridges until a bed would be open.At Community Bridges there were no beds either, I was put in a room that was just about 30 square feet with a broken chair. I slept on the floor for about 5 days without a pillow or blanket. I felt like “Anne Frank of COVID-19”. I was treated horrible. I really thought I would die there because of the environment I was in.I was the only patient with COVID-19 so I was put in a room with barley air conditioning, please note it is 100+ outside, plus I couldn’t turn off the lights! I had bad insomnia as it was from prior to being admitted to the Honor Health. The light in the room made the whole room warmer. All I wanted was a bed, sleep, peace and quiet. I cried everyday at Community Bridges because it’s so loud 24-7. No one sleeps there. I don’t recommend Community Bridges to anyone. Because I had bruises on my arms and legs - the workers thought I was a heroin attic or druggie. Which I am not. I was all bruise up from Honor Healths unqualified nurses who kept missing my veins and I bruised up easily.A lot of People who are addicts go to Community Bridges to receive treatment. Also there are the ones who are mentally ill and yell at the top of their lungs and disturb others. No one can sleep. The nurses don’t care about anyone there. They lock them selfs in their own office which is soundproof. I saw so many nasty things that nurses did to the patients. Some of those nurses should be fired. After the 3rd day, of no sleep - I called my family and doctor. I told them everything about community bridges. That day, I was put in a room by the nurses office - it was sound proof and I had a floor mattress with blanket and pillow. I wish I never went to community bridges because PTSD from that place. That place is HELL.All I want to do is be healthy again and get my body back to health. Maybe everything happened for a reason and my story needed to be heard. I hope this place closes it’s doors for good. No one should be treated at Community Bridges. But before it does, maybe you, John Hogeboom, should experience a week at community bridges under cover (just like undercover boss). After a week of being at community bridges (aka holocaust, aka hell) - I was finally transferred to Valleywise! Valleywise was my life saver. I recommend to everyone who needs help to go to Valleywise. I got my own bed and room. All the nurses and doctors cared about me and helped me. Valleywise was like heaven compared to Community Bridges Hell.Sincerely,Anna

Do not recommend. Called the 1st time and was hung up on. Called back and the receptionist was very rude and nasty like I was bothering her. Did not get a chance to make an appointment. While on the phone she started having a conversation with someone else so I simply hung up. Very unprofessional and sad when someone is seeking help and this is the first impression given. I wish I could remember her name but honestly I do not believe she even offered it. After reading the other reviews, I guess Im lucky not to have made it pass the initial appointment phone call.

Finally was transferred to Tiffany, (Operations Lead) and she was helpful and empathetic to my situation and provided details regarding my son. Im new to this type of situation, but I can say without a doubt Community Bridges didnt help. My adult daughter has been struggling with what appears to be mental health issues; depression, anxiety, anger, inability to make rational decisions and lately talking of suicide. After many conversations with her to seek help on her own. I researched dozens of places. Only after speaking to one of their online counselors, who was very caring, reluctantly decided to file a petition for her to be involuntarily evaluated. I was told by the staff that if the petition was accepted they would keep her for observation for a minimum of 72 hours. Finally, after almost a week the PD was able to pick her up. The detective told me I should hear from Community Bridges by the end of the day. No one called. The next day I called to see how things were going and was informed she had already been released. Less than 24 hours. So, what was already a bad situation has now been made much worse. She has admitted that she lied and put on a show so they would release her. In my opinion, if a facility and their staff are even moderately equipped to deal with mental health, then they should be aware when people are lying to them and continue the evaluation to find the source of the problem. I will continue to seek help for my daughter, but greatly regret wasting precious time by going to Community Bridges.

Im mentally ill!! Community Bridges is a very boring place!!! They know nothing about mentally ill people. They changed my meds without my permission and the placement nurses make you sit far from their desks. They are paranoid!!!! They need help themselves. Thats real scary for me. Unqualified nurses but the staff that works there are just as unqualified as well. You eat cheese and mayonnaise sandwiches and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. No kitchen or dining room. No hot meals. All you can drink is bottled water from the water dispencers! The staff goes out and buys pizza, hamburgers, soda and chips and eat from their desk in plain sight as you can only eat sandwiches and drink water. No fair. They dont know how to treat people there especially mentally ill people. The state should close all Community Bridges down. They dont care for people. They want to place you where they want to in their best interest. Not yours. They place you too fast without helping you. Youre situation doesnt get better by being there. It stays the same or gets worse. The staff know nothing about people, especially mentally ill people. They dont want to learn or care. They are not interested in helping you! They just act like it. Horrible. Do all you can to prevent a loved one being sent here or voluntarily admitting here. I was transferred to this facility from Tempe St. Lukes via PD as an involuntary patient. At the time I was in the midst of a mental health crisis, and had no experience nor understanding of the circumstances and the way mental health is handled in Arizona. For several days, I was held in a large room where all the patients are situated in stiff recliners wearing cheap scrubs. The room was co-ed with several other patients in the throes of psychosis; male patients often wandered near the female patients and there did not seem to be much intervention from floor staff. I was absolutely terrified. I did speak with a counselor, but no medications or support were administered. At one point, I took a much-needed shower (the door of which opens directly into the large group room), and a male staff member opened the door on me while I was dressing to check on me. The fact that it wasnt a female staff member makes me shudder to think of the unregulated risks to vulnerable patients. Another disgusting incident is when I asked for a menstrual pad, the box I was handed contained a used sanitary pad that had been placed back into the box.Unfortunately, these were minor incidents compared with other recollections I have. For example, in response to my panic attack after realizing that I was imprisoned--for lack of a better word--staff restrained and injected me with an unnamed drug. I was then released into the large group room where I stumbled into a recliner and passed God-only-knows how many hours in a drug-induced state. As the 5 days passed, my husband was completely denied information on my stay. For myself, the days and nights melded together as there are no windows in the group room. Nursing staff is situated behind a bullet-proof-plastic station, and my husband and other family members were assured that their messages to me were posted on the community board for me to read. As a patient I neither was informed of such a board nor did I ever see such a thing anywhere. Bright lights and TV noise, plus the wailing of other patients made sleep impossible. The food was extremely salty and it got to the point where I could no longer eat or drink. I simply went around the room hoarsely telling staff, I dont feel safe here, I dont feel safe, until finally I just curled up into a ball on a recliner. To this day, I do not know how I was released. I recall a single nurse who became concerned and got a doctor to come over. The nurse then provided me with a Pediasure and a few hours later I was released into the arms of my husband and brother, basically catatonic. There was no diagnosis, no medications, no recommendations for follow-up care, nothing.Because of this organization, I have since experienced PTSD relating to mental health facilities, making my pursuit of future care challenging.Since then, my husband and I have become more educated. Unfortunately, these holding facilities seem to be a required bureaucratic step in the process of AZs involuntary cases. Instead of going from an ER directly into an inpatient treatment, involuntary patients seem to be sent to these dumps for stabilization. Fortunately, our experiences in northern California have renewed our faith that mental healthcare can and does exist. However, in AZ, it is still a terror for innocents unprepared to deal with a mental health crisis.Last thought, everyone should make sure to get an advocate and a medical power of attorney who cares for you, especially if you have a susceptibility to mental illness. Otherwise, if you are deemed incapable or a threat to yourself or others, the state kicks in and the patient in crisis is at the mercy of a profoundly broken system.I cannot believe this type of facility is allowed in any humane society. Community Bridges needs to be thoroughly audited and drastically changed.

Was in there for depression and suicidal thoughts, cried for about 4 hours straight with recognition I was upset but nothing solved. No anxiety meds no nothing. Asked for a nicotine patch and didnt receive it the entire 11.5 hours I was there, there were true mental health people there but even they were treated like garbage, highly recommend not going there even though its a free clinic, its not a mental health hospital its a crisis clinic. My fiance is still in there and I have a feeling hes doing worse by the minute. Bring inside this unit makes you worse than you are going in. Life is better without wasting your time being stuck or forced here even if you went voluntary. Highly recommend paying the 1700-2300 dollars a day without insurance to go to someone who actually cares about your well being. Im hoping he gets released soon but as you can see from the reviews if you need help this isnt the place to go. The night staff was awesome though.

I did not attend this facility personally. However, my Husband was recommended to center by the hospital he went to for Anxiety and Alcohol withdrawal. This location never contacted family of emergency contacts to notify that he was now located here. Also, he was not allowed to contact family after repeatedly asking to let his wife (me) know where he was. There was no psychiatrist or psychologist to examine people to determine if they should be held for mandatory observation. Yet the staff repeatedly threatened my Husband that they would hold him there, even though he checked in voluntarily. Treating people as if they are less of a human because they are not like yourself is an awful abuse of power and discrimination. This kind of behavior from the staff is why people do not voluntarily seek help when suffering from Anxiety and other mental illnesses. Hopefully they did not charge our insurance for this detainment.

I truly wish I could give no stars. I typically do not write reviews however I feel as if I would be doing a deservice to those seeking help.Do not go to this facility for any reason. If you need psychiatric help try your best to get in with a phychiatrist or primary doctor if you’re able to, if not UPC is a great resource with much more accommodations and truly caring staff.CBI has the most unprofessional staff, constantly talking loudly, cursing, and not allowing patients to rest peacefully. They have absolutely no knowledge on how to attend to those with mental illness. Extremely ill prepared and no where near qualified. You will be treated as a “drug seeker” regardless of your purpose for coming in, even voluntarily.I was stuck in a 50 recliner room with barely any supervision. Many people were irate and received no help or even any acknowledgement. I came in for chronic panic attacks and an increase in episodes of my PTSD. I was automatically treated as if I was suicidal and could not receive any care without surrendering all of my belongings including clothing. No one comes around to check on you. No attempts to alleviate the emergency symptoms you came there for in the first place. The doctor was extremely rude and spent less than 3 minutes with me before deciding “she wasn’t going to help me since I had seen a doctor two months prior to my visit ( I recently started a new job and am no longer under any insurance until my 90 day probationary period comes )It was a traumatic experience when I wanted to be released since I would not be receiving assistance and was refused release and any phone calls until they felt I could leave. Again, I came in voluntarily.Do not put yourself through a situation that’s going to make your current circumstance worse. There are much better resources than the abomination of this “health center”Shame on you for allowing people to think in their most vulnerable moments that you actually care.

If I could post without putting a star, I would. The nurses are incredibly unprofessional. In full view and within hearing of the patients, they will discuss how much they hate their jobs, talk about other patients, ask for medical information on the floor in front of everyone, watch YouTube videos and go on Facebook, and fall asleep. They never knew what was going on if you asked the a question, and if you take your medications on a strict schedule, good luck with that. Youll be getting your medications hours after you need to take them. The nurses do not care at all; a patient was violently ill and throwing up and they did nothing until after over an hour had passed, then having a doctor check the patient over and tell them to just deal with it theyll be fine. It was only after another hour and the other patients threats to call 911 that any actual action was taken in regards to the patient who was in so much pain they couldnt move. The facility is a large room with 50 recliners in it, with 15 reserved for the women and 35 for the men. However when a male patient pushed his way into the womens section three times, the staff didnt try to move him, and told him that he could have that recliner. Some of the women had PTSD because of men, and yet they allowed him to stay. If you have any sort of special diet, dont expect anything good. The facility does not have a dietitian that creates meal plans or anything of the sort. The only snacks they give you are either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on wheat bread, or a cheese sandwich, which consists of wheat bread and a single slice of American cheese. If you want to talk to the doctor, youll be told that the doctor chooses when they will talk to you, and that theyll put you at the bottom of the queue, but dont expect much. You will most likely have to wait a full day before meeting with one. If you need a place to stay to recover from addiction or mental illness, its better to just try to find a facility yourself. CBI and their staff do not care about you, you are just money-making cattle to them.
