My husband and I have been Dr. Shockeys patients for over ten years. We have complete trust in his care and he takes time to learn about his patients as individuals and not just patients. The front desk staff and the medical professionals who we have worked with at Brown Road Medical have always been kind, helpful, and professional. It is wonderfully convenient to have my blood drawn and my bone scans done there rather than going to an outside agency. I appreciate the many benefits of having Dr. Shockey as our family doctor.

I wish I could just review the front desk, then again maybe their demeanor is a reflection of his own. I called and scheduled an appointment for last week and missed my appointment. While I understand that that is not ideal I never expected to call back to schedule a new appointment and be told the doctor would refuse to see me. No joke I literally was told that no matter what I couldnt schedule another appointment. I need a medical certificate for my flight school and now I am going to have to drive to Phoenix. Maybe this is standard procedure but I have never been responded to like this over something as simple as missing an appointment. I hope nobody makes the mistake of interacting with this doctors office who has an unbearable level of self importance, and seemingly not one ounce of patience. Cheers.

The doctor I worked with was great but the front desk is very rude. Your dealing with ill and even mentally ill patients you could be more respectful. I missed an appointment so a lady called today around 4:10 and she didnt want to hear anything I was saying kept cutting me off with uh huh with a sassy attitude then mentions a fee. I will not go here again.

Dr. Shockey is a rare find because he spends time with his patients and listens to them. Hes knowledgeable and compassionate and cares about solving his patients medical issues. I can always get appointments with him in a very timely manner, also.

Dr. Shockey was always in a hurry. I felt like I was just part of a money making assembly line. But the final deal breaker was when he put my husband in the hospital. “Sorry about that” was his comment. His “one size fits all” cookie cutter medicine and research says that “most” patients with type ll diabetes have high blood pressure. So when he diagnosed my husband with Type ll diabetes he automatically put him on blood pressure meds. Several months later my husband collapsed in the grocery store. He fell flat on his face. I called 911, he was admitted into the hospital and ran through every cardiac test possible. The cardiologist determined that the culprit was the prescription Dr. Shockey had put him on. His discharge instructions were pretty clear. “Stop”It was a very frightening, expensive, time consuming ordeal that never should have happened. We’re very fortunate that my husband wasn’t driving. It could have been so much worseSo now pay him the annual fee he wants?not even a consideration.

Dr. Shockey is good but his PA Jeremy is a douche wagon. Hes always real short and indifferent with my wife when she goes there. So we are done. He can smoke a pole.

Dr. Shockey was very rude and got angry when I asked him 1 simple question, he insulted me. Additionally, he succumbed to calling me names. I have seen other reviews where patients have had similar experience and I felt relieved to know I wasn’t the only one. He is full of prejudice and definitely needs anger management classes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from him, please, unless you want to see an angry, arrogant and unhappy doctor. He treats his Mormon patients better than he treats Non-Mormon patients. He is someone who should have his licensed revoked. It is a shamethat doctors like him give the good doctors a bad name.

About a year ago, I went to see Dr. Shockey for two problems. After waiting well over an hour in the waiting room and exam room, I made the grievous error of asking him one too many questions about my concerns. He absolutely blew up at me and, among other things, I was told he had others patients to see and I was taking up too much time. After leaving the office, I went to my car and cried. Stupidly, I went back for weakness and cramping in my back and legs and an inability to walk any distance. He blew me off and told me to go get some PT. Two weeks later, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital when I was unable to walk at all due to life-threatening deep vein thrombosis. I required three surgeries to resolve the problem, which Dr. Shockey had not taken seriously. Obviously, I no longer patronize this person.

My good friend, who is in her 80s, has asked me to write this. She saw Dr. Shockey several times for pain. What he did medically was either not working or working briefly. Her meds made her ill as well. He was disrespectful and short with her. Making a sick person cry? REALLY unacceptable.

Dr. Shockey was very rude and got angry when I asked him 1 simple question, he insulted me. He seems hating women or foreigners or both. My neighbor had similar experience and I felt relieved when I discovered that he made her cry too during her appointment. He even went so far that accused me to of wasting a taxpayers money when I asked him to check my vitamin B and D levels during my annual visit (once a year we have right to check our vitamin levels), when I told him that he is wrong because I am not on a public health care, that I had a private insurance that my husband pays from his salary, he fired me from being his patient. He could not tolerate someone speaking up, especially a woman with a foreign accent questioning his judgment. I cannot be any happier that I told him that he had no right to accuse me of wasting tax-payers money and he definitely was not paying for my lab test. He is full of prejudice and definitely needs anger management classes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from him, please, unless you want to see an angry, arrogant and unhappy doctor. May be he has some personal reasons or unresolved emotional issues as an explanation of why he is like this, but he should not be taking it on other people who have not done him any harm, especially on people whom he makes money of.
