I took my son here yesterday on Saturday which I thought would take a few hours for them to call him back however that wasnt the case, the receptionists were very quick and nice, they even had bubbles to blow for him to keep him entertained while finishing up our paperwork, mind u my son is 2 years old. They called us back within 30 min. The Doctor was amazing very quick and professional, I cannot give enough gratitude in this review for how amazing our experience was here. I feel so sorry for everyone else that had a bad experience however that wasnt the case for us. Would definitely come here again.

Was very disturbed with the fact there was someone elses DRY BLOOD on things in the room i was in for the adult emergency department. This isnt the 1st time ive had this happen as a pulse ox monitor had dried blood on it last time i was here just wasnt able to get a photo. If it wasnt for how close it was to me i wouldnt come here voluntarily. The staff seem okay. Ive had a few people who had horrible bed side manner but they are usually far between thankfully. If you have an alternative for care id suggest it.

This has to be the worst visit Ive experienced. Im 17 weeks pregnant and experiencing severe pelvic pain 😢 and mild cramping. Dr. Steven was assigned to me and after I was checked in he came in the room almost 2 hours later. He only stayed in for two minutes. When he entered the room, he didnt seem concerned about nothing. Everything I told him, his response was yeah as he nodded his head. Ive been in the room for 3 hours and he hasnt seen me. No medication,I.V or checking my pelvis to make sure everything is fine. No ultrasound to check on my baby. Just so unprofessional. And to think I considered this hospital to give birth;absolutely not! I hate it here and the doctor.

Worst hospital ever. Was there all day with no chance of leaving my room with no food or drinks. And then when I did get a sandwich it was frozen. Kept getting my child but would not give her any pain meds. They are lucky that I cant give them a half star cause I would. Worst hospital ever

Do not go here. I know the reviews for anywhere else are bad as well, but do not settle for Banner Desert. Girlfriend was waiting for 3 hours to be seen for a five day 103 degree fever, there was never anyone at the nurse station to talk to, never an estimated time. After 3 hours someone didnt even offer a room, just said they were going to take blood tests which would take even longer to process all the while staying in the waiting room. Horrible experience and we will never be returning even if one of us is dying.

Very slow. Brought in a relative and the wait time was twice what they estimated. There was a lack of communication and minimal compassion for all the people coming in.

Been waiting aver and hour and a half because my glucose levels are above 600 and I haven’t had insulin in 2 days cuz the VA taking forever with my prescription. They really don’t care here. Good luck anybody that come here

I have been waiting for 6 1/2 hours in the ER with chest pain and still have not been evaluated by a doctor.

I recently had a scare and I wont go into details but Ill just say from the front desk to the back(nurses doctors) up to inpatient area they all had great bedside manner and critical thinking to save me. Thank you all so much. God blessed me and God will bless them all.

Took care of my son well. He was there for week. Attentive throughout the night. Quick to address any situation.

If I could give zero stars. Sheesh. Arrived around 6:40 am. Very slow time for the ER. Still took about an hour to get into a room. 30 for a nurse to come. Got an ultra sound peed in a cup and got blood drawn. That was all. I was there for close to 5 hours. I asked for water was told no. He told he he would give me fluids and didn’t at all. Basically a panic attack in the chair. So If your in real pain or need real help like I did. Don’t come here. I was also told my boyfriend could stay with me the ENTIRE time which I made sure to ask prior to checking in. they assured me yes because my anxiety is crazy and I don’t like sitting in empty rooms by myself. They wouldn’t even let him out the waiting room.

I came to the ER with heart palpitations, dizziness and chest pain and have been sitting in the waiting room for 6 hours now watching people with colds that came in way after me get called back. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST ER I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.

I’m 71 brought in by ambulance was sat in lobby for 2 unattended hours then taken to a room where no one came in except to register me then waiting hours to get what I legitimately needed and was scolded for begging for help. Terrible place!

Just had a nurse, no bedside manner, or even asked of I was ok or if I needed the blanket. These rooms get cold. No apologizes for waiting two hours in waiting room and then almost 20 minutes when I got to a room. I know it gets busy in an er and tonight was busy. So many things could have been better from triage to bedside manners. This place needs work, all around. Instead of complaining in front of patients, maybe make us more comfortable.

I brought my 5 yr old daughter here because she spilt her knee open. They were so patient with her through the whole process. I recommend for bringing kids

After this god awful hospital did everything wrong and the doctor left before finishing my fiancé’s discharge paper work, as I was talking to nurses 2 security guards came to escort me out since it was past visiting hours. As we approached the elevator an officer holding a dog threatened to assault me because I wasn’t entering the not yet fully opened elevator. I asked if he was gonna stick his dog on me and attack me, to which he responded “I don’t even need the dog for that”. When we got outside the officers began to insult my pink backpack. I will be taking action for the threats.

Been here multiple occasions, Idont understand the negative reviews though..

The nurse and doctor I saw were absolutely great. However, I saw so many employees not wearing masks or wearing them improperly, that I would think twice before bringing a loved one here. If you look in the pictures, youll see a picture of an employee wearing no mask in the waiting room while working. This man say down to complain to another employee not far away from me, wearing a mask around his neck. The young male employees that werent nurses all had their mask under their nose. If an employee cant wear a mask or cant wear it properly, they should be sent home or terminated. At least the nurses and doctors wore their masks.

The doctors here are not only rude, but negligent. I ended up having to go to mexico for treatment because they refused to diagnose me due to mental illness.

My wife was in the Banner Emergency Room in Mesa Az on Dobson on April 1. She was in there for about an hour and a half. So There is a nearly $11000 bill from that that they never sent me. I was just checking claims and noticed. They say they filed a claim with my insurance company, but I believe they filed it with the wrong group number. It does not appear with my list of claims. I have reached out to them several times to file a claim correctly but they for some reason dont do that. I have had the Insurance company BCBS reach out to them to make sure they had all the information they needed. She said they said they would be filing a claim. I dont know if this is some kind of scam to avoid accepting the insurance discount form their nearly $11000 an hour bill. But I assure you I will be following up with complaints to any insurance regulatory and if this isnt filed soon I will be checking with the AZ Atty Gen office to see about filing a complaint. Also the DR had a $2000 bill that he did the same thing. The collection Agency said it was a DR SMITH Finally radiology submitted their claim for about$2000 Anyway aoubt $15000 in claims for a bit over an hour.

It was a wait, but what emergency room isnt. Once I got seen the staff was fast, friendly and efficient. The nurses were very attentive and very kind. The doctor that saw me was also very friendly, informative and got my tests and blood work ordered right away. I was diagnosed and treated with respect and kindness! Thanks Emergency staff!!

Waited for 5 hours before getting a room

My baby waited 5 hours to get an X-ray. The staff were excellent. Tell the useless administrators to hire more of them. There is not a more meaningless job on earth, congratulations. You can afford a few less million a year to have a few more doctors I’m sure. Drug seeking lady got in right away.

WORST hospital I’ve ever been to. They do not care about you.

You use to be a great hospital and Er, but now it is not. You do nothing for people. One blood thinners, fall and hit ribs, history of bleeding and clotting issues, seizure disorder. And all you do is make him sit there and send him home and do nothing for him.

Waited two hours and not a single person called back! Understaffed! You will die waiting!

I was here for a stomach pain for 9 hours. They ran all sorts of tests. I felt very confused about the entire process. And the communication with my doctor was every few hours for only a couple minutes at a time. I was freezing. Someone didn’t offer me a blanket for like 3 hours. I had an absolutely miserable time here. I didn’t get any answers. I didn’t feel like they asked me enough questions to understand my pain

Took care of family member in a professional and compassionate manner. Kept us updated with profess and getting them admitted. Our experience was positive even with a ER expected wait time!

The staff were all friendly but also didnt listen. I went in for worsening severe abdominal pain and blood in toilet with bowel movements. They kept asking if I still have a gall bladder. I repeatedly said no. I explained I had already seen my PCP 2 days prior and had gotten worse. They dismissed the bleeding or ignored it. They mislabled my right sided pain as left-sided pain!!!! The CT report says they couldnt see my colon and there was zero about my appendix. I never saw a dr, just 2 different PAs. The last PA I saw told me my pain would go away on its own. Then they sent me home. When I complained they offered me print outs of everything and the nurse showed me part of CT report that stated radiologist had found nothing. Yeah, because he or she couldnt find my colon because they failed to have me drink water to make it visible and they were looking on the wrong side! Its not that a person wants them to find anythi g serious but when you feel so bad that you force yourself to do to the ER during the Covid-19 pandemic, you really do not want to be sent home feeling just as bad as when you arrived and with zero answers and your pain dismissed as nothing. I could have acute appendicitis or some weird post Covid-19 bowel issue (I had presumptive Covid back in March). They ignored me telling them I had had presumptive Covid-19. Dont go to this hospital or any Banner hospitals ever. They are the worst!

Both times I’ve been here I didn’t even get any care, the first time they just put an IV in my arm and wouldn’t let my family be with me the whole night through and I was alone with nobody even looking after me even though I was there for mental health reasons. Second time I couldn’t breathe and they didn’t give me breathing treatment or anything and there were used pieces of medical trash on the floor in my room. I also had to explain to them what several of my diagnosis meant. It’s like the people working there are barely even qualified to be doing so

Boyfriend came in with abscess on arm, nurse came in only, doctor never once came to look at abscess once. Nurse comes back in telling us how procedure will be done, then proceeds to prep and numb area with AGAIN NEVER ONCE HAVING A doctor visually see abscess, and then nurse cuts open abscess and not once gives pain medicine and when asked about it... He gets the run around. As a RN, I completely understand if my boyfriend came in with a pain of 10 for a undiagnosed stomach pain.... But a pain of 7 after being cut on.... And nothing given for pain is wrong on so many levels.

I presented to the ED with chest pain that radiated into my left shoulder & back. I was given an immediate EKG & sent to the lobby without further explanation. No enzyme tests, no doctor, no information, nothing.After waiting in the lobby for over an hour & watching multiple people with basic cold symptoms (or the girl giggling in the corner) being called back while I sat in various levels of pain & uncertainty, it became obvious my medical needs were of no consequence to the staff here. If they aren’t worried, why should I be, right? I’m just female with chest pain... must be anxiety, right? Indigestion? Overactive imagination?Maybe nobody told the ‘medical’ staff here that heart disease kills more women a year than men. Or that fewer than 20% of doctors are actually aware of this statistic put out by the American Heart Association. Or that statistically, women receive subpar care & attention from medical professionals in general when compared to male counterparts (thanks for validating that one for me, Banner).Word to the wise ladies, if you’re having chest pain, avoid this place or tell them you’re male at check in. Maybe then women with classic cardiac symptoms will get the actual standard of care patients with these symptoms are supposed to get in an ED.I’m incensed that I did not seem to matter here.

Worst ER ever. Went in with stomach pain a week ago and was released the same day. Now er doctor trying to contact me with test results, but theres no way for me to answer while Im at work. So when I call the hospital, I get a whole run around on who I have to talk to about some test results. Medical records transferring me back and forth all day long. Finally, got in touch with the lady in the front of the er, asked for the records directly or to transfer me to someone who can help because of the run around when its the ER who called me, asked for me to call back the ER. 🤬 Idk who but if I die, I never got an answer on what these test result shows.

Not busy but still waiting 2 hours for treatment and in that time what was bothering me seemed to subside. Wanted to leave without treatment and still had to wait. An efficiency expert would have a field day at this joint.

Heh I choked-out fat once and went to space

I just had my son here on 9/3. Everyone was so nice so respectful. Drs nurses even janitors and cafeteria workers went above and beyond to make sure I had anything I could ever need or want! I recommend dr tamanaha and banner desert for any mom to be who wants to be treated with the utmost respect! They really know how to make you feel special.

Absolutely horrible. Walked with my knee torn up, they told me 3 - 5 hoirs, wouldnt help, I ended up Ubering to St Lukes. Awful experience. Stay away.

Came in for pressure in chest. I got in and had an EKG and CAT inside of an hour. Then I spent 4 hours listening to the doctors talk trash in the halls with zero updates. It’s exactly like listening to high schoolers. The billing lady visited after several hours, couldn’t get her computer to work, said “oh well” and left. After another hour or so I got dressed and stood in the doorway asking passing nurses for status. My nurse finally came by and said still waiting on test results, sorry, she would try to find the doctor. Bring a thick book folks, you’re going to need it. But I didn’t die so that’s nice. #itsatrap!

Staff does not care. Waited over 3 hours with severe chest pain and was not seen. When asked when I would be seen in a polite manner the nurses especially Joy was extremely rude and brushed me off. No courtesy whatsoever just wait your turn or leave even when I told her my chest pains were getting worse.

Three stars for being super-staffed w/ excellent talent, but very slow decision making, very talkative (w/ each other) about the weather, hiking, the news, but very little high-cognitive level discussion about standard of care vs evidence presented. For such a high expense, I predict most of $$ goes to bureaucratic & mindless data entry, over-staffing on top of weak game plan, and poor vision or management. Good luck Banner team. We want you to succeed at a high level, but 2-stars away IMO.

Very poor service, the ladies in the front don’t know what’s going on . Either on their phone or talking to one another not people friendly . I understand your dealing with people but this is the career they chose to work in .

If you dont want to get sicker than you are, avoid going to this location at all costs. Terrible service, ridiculous wait time. Im 31 weeks pregnant and I went to OB triage because my feet were swollen and they sent me to ER to check for blood cloth. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes on my swollen feet then a other hour around other extremely sick patients who were waiting in the lobby. Ive spent at least 3.5 hours so far in this hospital and I regret coming here. Im hoping to not get sick. And Ill be looking for a new OBGYN and a new hospital.

I broke my ankle and went to this ER. They made me wait on a bed in the hallway, it was 6am and not busy at all. Then, the dr said you broke this little bone here. Go to a podiatrist. THATS IT. Didnt tell me exactly what was broken, didnt refer me for a follow up , and didnt give me anything for pain. I was discharged and no one told me a damn thing. Never going to a Banner Hospital again. Thankfully a relative got me an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon... who I SHOULD have been referred to

Sadly, I have to agree with everyone on the service. Maybe if the board read the reviews, something might be done. However, too much insurance money in play to worry about each patient. Theyll get paid anyway.

1/14/2019, my husband felt dizziness,the DispatchHealth Urgent Care that we called for help,they send two very young nurses over and told my husband to go to ER right away, so he went.While i was on my way to meet my husband in ER. i called the ER and tried to let them know, the Dispatch Health people said,infection already into blood system, he needs to be treated immediately. The ER nurse who talked to me on the phone said,he will have to wait in the room like everyone else,IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSEHind side, the nurses from DispatchHealth Urgent Care have just give him IV shots and not sent him to ER.That ER trip took 9 hours total, he was released at 4am,and they said, nothing is wrong from all tests.I am not blaming ER that they didnt find anything wrong.I am saying if you can help it, go to other ER,because the experience here is unpleasant and it will make you sicker afterwards.There are other newer ER at South of Chandler 202 freeway area,I heard their management is much much more efficient,that will allow nurses and doctors to function better.

2/8/19 Pediatric ER2hrs in the waiting room. 1hr in the room. The nurse actually suggested we go to urgent care for faster treatment. Because they only had ONE ER doctor ....on a Friday night. Unfortunately, my child had a very specialized emergency...the reason we went to Banner ER in the first place.We were never treated. After 3hrs of my pre teen literally writhing in pain we left and went to St. Lukes ER I used their online check-in. By the time we got there we waited only 30 mins.They did not have the best staff but it was better than NOTHING. Which is what we got at BANNER Mesa Pediatric ER.

Was told we would wait an hour and a half , 4 hours later I go up to a nurse and get told “you see how busy we are “ it’ll be 3-4 more hours. What a DISGUSTING SERVICE !! PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT PEOPLES LIVES . No one should have to wait more than 4 hours in the ER . Is an EMERGENCY ROOM for a REASON . They don’t even deserve the one star I’m giving them.

Racist hospital if you are majority dont go here doctor doesnt care to see whats wrong with you a lady gives an IV without the bag and now I have a brusied arm no correct test results just being rushed out and medication you dont need. This should be a crime to have doctors who doesnt care about their patients only thing they care about is getting paid by my benefits if I something bad happens Im suing.

There were a few good select nurses that were the only good thing about my experience. They deserve great reviews on there own but this hospital is horrible!! Dont go here. I went in with extreme abdominal pain. I knew I had a hernia but had never been in this much pain. I waited over an hour after being checked in by laurin who was extremely rude. Once they called me in and I assumed I would be put in a room. Instead they gave me a bed in the hallway. When it was time to draw my IV I warned I was a hard stick. The nurse looked for my veins...didnt try to feel for them, only looked. Pricked me twice with no luck and then had to wait 45 minutes for the iv ultrasound. Once he got in the vein he spent 5 minutes digging before he reached success. They need people who are better trained. Then when they did all their tests the Dr tells me theres nothing he can do. My appendix and bowel are now inside my hernia and Im in extreme pain but he cant do anything but prescribe me addictive pain killers and have me follow up with my doctor. This hospitals procedures need to be fixed.

Staff is rude and dont care if the make your pain worse while evaluati g you in the middle of the lobby for everyone to watch, waited in a line for 20 minute just to get signed in, mean while my husbands finger is bleeding so badly it practcally over flowing the banket on to the floor. They tell you they service in order of severity, however we sit hear watching people with simple seasonal colds being called back and taken care of before us. Tell me if im wrong but i think needi g stiches is more sever then a common cold expecilly when you not elderly or an infant.

My wife out of surgery 8:26am it is now 3:27 Just told me that they are cleaning a room. This really poor service. I really dont get it. I know we are black people but this is crazy. I hope we dont ever have to come back here.

My four year old had several seizures at home. We called 911, rode the ambulance now we are sitting in the lobby without​ being seen! The lady at the desk named Adrianne ruse as hell! My son is seizing, vomiting, and a high temp. Guess my son is not sick enough!
