When we searched for a new place to live, what mattered most was the people, the meals, the cost and the quality of life. We werent looking for a place to die. We wanted a place to enjoy our golden years. We found it at Canyon Winds. What wonderful people. From the moment you pull up, you feel that you are somewhere unique and special. The grounds are beautiful, and theres a certain calm and peace. Each unit has a loving, family atmosphere. The residents seem happy and engaged. Every detail from the lighting and temperature to the music, furniture, and smell of baked goods has a calming effect. We immediately got the sense that everyone there truly cares about the residents and visitors alike! What a blessing Canyon Winds has been not only to their residents, but to their families and the community!THANK YOU!!!!!

My father recently moved to Canyon Winds and I have nothing but positives to say about them!!! They are so attentive and friendly!!! The food and the meals are spectacular. The decision to place my dad in a assisted living facility wasn’t a small pill to swallow but staff have been more then just staff to us. Theyre more like family!!! Keep it up!!! The money we pay has been worth every penny! 😍

I visited all of the Senior Care Centers in the Mesa and Phoenix area. This one beats them all hands down, so this was our choice for my father-in-law. He loves it! The staff is second to none and that includes the chef, who is so nice! The food is great. I have personally eaten 10 or more meals there including 2 Thanksgivings. Every staff member becomes like family!Do check Canyon Winds out if you or a family member needs assisted living or memory care. Warm, caring atmosphere from all!- Elena

Canyon Winds has been the best home imaginable for my wife. We have never had a bad meal, a bad day or a bad event in her time there. Even during the pandemic the care has been superior.Thank you, Canyon Winds. You have made our lives better in every possible way.

We moved Mom to Canyon Winds in early August. What a beautiful place!! The staff has made a life changing experience so much more pleasant than we ever would have expected. The nurses have responded to her needs with urgency and we appreciate that tremendously. Plus, I love that everyone seems to know her name, her favorite foods and how to put a smile on her face. After a tough few years, thanks Canyon Winds for giving us the space to breathe easy again.

Canyon Winds is a gem of a retirement home. This facility goes above and beyond to give every resident the best care possible. The friendly staff is there to help your loved ones. They take great pride in keeping a clean and safe environment. To add to my review - My Wife was a resident at Canyon Winds for 9 months. I couldnt be happier with her care. She loved her therapy and her therapist. She enjoyed the food so much that she gained 5 pounds, which she really needed to do. The staff treated her so well, with love and care on a daily basis She enjoyed her time at Life Care. Thank you to the staff!

Canyon Winds is like no other Assisted Living and Care Home in the Valley. The loving care they offer is amazing. All the Nurses and Aides are Top Notch! The word facility, or even house, does not adequately describe what Canyon Winds is. It is a “home.” The minute you walk in, you get the warm feeling of home. You smell the home-cooked meals from the kitchen and the décor is well planned to feel cozy. There are always fun activities.Mom has been so happy at Canyon Winds. Shes like someone who feels like they won the vacation of a lifetime. I cannot say enough good things about everyone, the nurses, aides and staff.A special thank you to the owners for providing the very best care possible with love, respect and dignity for each resident.

Reading the reviews posted by nasty people trying to destroy this business makes me physically nauseous. This is not the Canyon Winds I know, or the place weve experienced over the last two years. The Canyon Winds I know is staffed by kind people who care about the clients they serve. They take the time to get to know you and to help you live your life in the best way possible. Ive been in other places where no one can be bothered to help or to say a kind word. That isnt Canyon Winds.Take a tour, see the place up close. You will see what a superior home this is.

We moved my father into Canyon Winds in January. He’d previously been in another memory care facility on the far west side of the Valley.Dad has been a lot happier since the move. He’s been made to feel welcome by everyone at Canyon Winds and he very much enjoys activities and socializing of which he did little before. His only complaint is that he fears he may get fat from all the delicious meals! Thanks to everyone at Canyon Winds for lifting his spirits.

I love that they only responded to the nice comments and don’t address the negative and I get that most of them are from the story on the news (RIP to one of our American hero’s that was treated like garbage .. real good thank for his service in protecting our freedom)but there’s a legit concern for someone’s well being in that facility and they don’t want to address that… it’s a shame. These people have lived long lives and it is not their fault they’re not well. criminals sound like they’re treated better in jail. Shut this place down and get its residents to safe facilities

I have no words to express how disgusted it is to learn that this facility didnt even know that one of their residents was missing. Dont they check on them every so often during the day and making sure they are in bed at night???? How many days would if had taken them to realize it??? Unfortunately all this facilities concern is collecting as much money as they can from their residents. SHAME ON THEM!!!

I had a very dear friend living there in an Assisted Living Apartment. With the Covid lockdowns, I was unable to visit with her on a regular basis most of 2020.In January I was able to visit every Saturday and in doing so realized she was not being cared for appropriately. She had fallen at some point before January and her foot was hurting her and visibly bruised. She was having trouble walking and needed more assistance. She called me in tears, begging me to take her out of there. Instead of transporting her to a medical facility, they called for a mobile service to come to her. .It took 2 weeks to get an x-ray and another week to find out it wasnt broken. After the 4th week her foot was turning worse with her toes turning black. She had been up every night that week with cramping -like pain in her thighs and pain in her feet. She would call for help using her help button and it would take hours sometimes before anyone showed. Turns out they were frequently short-staffed. When I asked for medical transport to the emergency room, they refused to call. I had to take her myself and it turns out, she had no circulation in her left leg and almost none in her right and several clots. Apparently she had gone beyond the care that Canyon Winds was willing to or able to provide. I helped relocate her and she has since had multiple surgeries including the amputation of her toes. Read the fine print folks, this facility has one level of care. If you require more than basic assistance, they cant help you.

We brought my sister here from Pennsylvania because she needed alot of assistance with her advanced Parkinsons. Many times I had to call front desk to go help her in her room! They wouldnt respond to her alarm she wore on her neck for assistance. I would pick her up for doctors appointment and they didnt write on calendar I was coming.LAST STRAW WAS WHEN THEY FOUND HER BEFORE LUNCH ON THE FLOOR IN HER CLOSET PASSED OUT. NO REASON GIVEN AND NEVER FOLLOWED UP WITH ME HOW SHE WAS WHEN THEY BROUGHT HER BREAKFAST. SHE NEVER TOUCHED HER BREAKFAST SO I STILL DONT KNOW HOW LONG SHE WAS LAYING THERE.SHE STAYED IN THE HOSPITAL 3 DAYS UNTIL SHE WOKE UP. THEN REHAB 3 WEEKS. MEANWHILE WE FOUND A DIFFERENT PLACE TO LIVE. THE OAKS IN GILBERT! Thank God we got her out of Canyon winds...horrible staff. Always saying were too busy to come back hurry up I gotta take you now. SHE paid for assistance alot of money. Not her problem they were understaffed etc!!!

It is so tragic that a patient was left in a wheelchair van and died. I have driven a wheelchair van for 20 years and it wouldn’t have happened on my watch. I also blame the CNA and nurse. Didn’t anyone notice that he was missing at dinner time, when it was time for his meds or when he should have been put in bed for the night? This was a preventable death and I think that, in addition to the van driver getting fired, the CNA and nurse that had him should be fired too! How can anyone NOT notice that he was missing? His family is in my thoughts and prayers!

Do not bring your loved ones to this facility unless you want them to die after being forgotten in a van overnight - how negligent can they all be to not have noticed a missing person?

I moved into Canyon Winds about 3 weeks now, I must say the Food an Staff in the Cafeteria, some are very carrying but some I dont thi are wonderful, now about the Med Tech there are some very good ond some dont know what they are doing the cleaning people are not doing there job. Now 2 nights ago My lights over my bed came on for about 30 seconds, last night it was the same except last night that happend 2 times, something is not working like it should, I did report this to the front desk, they will look into. My first 2 weeks has not been very good Ill Post another one when they make some changes.Jerry DWell now I have been here for 1 year, I have yet to see any Improvement, *it is now 2:20 PM, bed not made, Mt Laundry has not been done, , so I am still sleeeping on My dirty sheets for a 2 days past due, bo water, Oh I ask a Care person to get Me some freash water, She told Me to get it Myself,, how awful, staff playing while on work, I am paying for this, when you question this stuff, they dont care, I have called the Corporate Office to complaint, but they never return My calls, I pay a good sum of money for Services here, but dont receive them, except for the Food, My Neice takes care of My Medication, I only have Canyon Winds check My BP, sometimes they dont do this, so they just lie and write in numbers. I am 82+, I dont know how to express myself, also not very good at writing. I just feel so sorry for the Family loss. My Prayers go out too the Family. I dont know how much longer I can stay at this place. Now I can understand why they have a 1 Star.
