I highly recommend Copper Village to anyone who is considering placing a loved one in memory care. Mari Fujita is the Executive Director. She and her staff are very professional, and if you have questions, they are very accessible. The Copper Village staff genuinely cares about each of their residents health, safety, and comfort.

Do not put any loved ones here!!!!! I come to visit my mother and there is no one in her cottage to watch her. I begin to receive phone calls from moms hospice saying that they had to go write orders cause they were never given to the caregivers.I go up to copper village to speak with some one about it and they have me waiting a while and then inform me that the nurse is out of the office and is unavailable!!!! why waste time of having me wait? I’ve called many times and the said nurse is never there needless to say we’re looking for a new place for mom!!! The front office people are not pleasant at ALL I got to sit and listen to a heavy set woman short with glasses and a medium built woman with long hair pulled back and glasses sit and gossip about two other employees. This is not good leadership at all. Those are your employees respect them. If that’s not enough this company changes employees like I change my underwear, and the good ones their pushing out and allowing others to speak behind their backs.I’m reporting all this to the state of Arizona and department of safety I will call whoever I need to to make sure no one else ever has to go through this. These people are being left unattended and the ladies in the office were also whispering around about a suspicious death. Take your loved ones out of there before something happens to them. I tired to speak to them about my concerns and to no avail so I’m writing this review in hopes that others may not make the mistake and place loved ones here. May god protect these people.

I would just like to say that the new leadership at Copper Village has really changed my views about this facility. My mother is a resident there and I was on the verge of moving her out due to the lack of confidence with the previous management. However, after speaking with Tanya, the current executive director, I am much more confident in the direction Copper Village is moving. Just in the short time the new management has been in place, I can already see many positive changes. I’ve been witness to a family member making a complaint and there were no excuses given by staff. The management team stepped in and corrected the issue right away. Due to the changes that I’m seeing I am now satisfied and keeping my mom in their care as I feel this is the best place for her. To see how they really care makes my heart smile. Thank you to Copper Village and Tanya for making me feel comfortable again.

Mom has only been there a month so we are still getting things together. Rooms are a nice size with private bathrooms, they allow you to paint the room a color of your choice if you want , each room has a French door looking out to the green area.

2 years ago i placed my mother -in-law in copper village she had a hard time at the beginning i had to go in the middle of the evens and get her toileted , and changed into evening wear. as time went by the facility decided she needed to go into a different cottage and that was fair, i gave them personal clothing for her to wear daily a few times she wore what i gave them eventually as time passed they stopped putting on her own clothes and putting on donated clothes that where left behind from prior residents . i furnished my mother in-law with her own furniture and twice it was taken out of the room with out notifying family of the change they had retrieved one item and the other is still missing family has called office and they dont call back right away. caregivers when asked any question they are clue less . family has supplied snack items for the family member and up to this day it still sits in cabinets not being used, hygiene care is not the greatest my suggestion too any one placing a loved one in here , keep track of all items given to facility and keep in-touch daily

My mother, Tess Pace, came to Copper Village over two years ago. She was in bad shape. Mom had spend about 13 years living with family members when we decided she needed to be placed somewhere safe; where she could not hurt herself or others. She then spent two years at another facility, in a locked down ward. This facility was not exclusively for dementia or Alzheimer patients. Unfortunately, Mom has dementia and was at the mercy of some of the other residents who were not kind or gentle to her. She became very withdrawn, pensive and lost over 50 pounds despite the fact that I visited her almost daily after work. I would bring her donuts and coffee, clean her room, give her baths and make sure her clothes and bed were clean. Prior to removing her from this facility, I noticed many cuts and bruises on her as there were not enough skilled aids to supervise the ward.My first visit to Copper Village made me cry as I was unaware such a beautiful, secure place existed. The cottages were clean, neat and smelled good. None of the cottage doors were locked, the residents were allowed to come and go as they pleased within the large, green, immaculate fenced yards. The staff at Copper Village was so loving and kind. My Mom was very sick, angry and hurt when I brought her there and Michelle, Jamie, Andy, Tony, Diana and many others spent hours holding and kissing and cooing to her. The change in Mom’s demeanor was immediate and she stopped fighting and started smiling again. Although she was originally put in cottage 10, because of her combative nature, she has regained some of her old sweet self and is now in Cottage 8. She has gained back 36+ pounds. And the most wonderful part is that I have had glimpses of my Mom back for over two years. The weight of caring for my Mom has been lifted and I get to be just the daughter again. What a blessing. I can never thank the owners and staff at Copper Village enough. As this insidious disease slowly takes my Mom – my heart is warmed by knowing she is in the most amazing place I could ever have found for her.A very grateful daughter,Marty Colvin

Previously worked here for a year some of the nurses really care about their patients who are there for memory care purposes. The upper management staff changed out so many times it was ridiculous.
