My son goes here and I couldnt be more pleased with the teachers, environment and staff in general. My son has developed leaps and bounds since he has been enrolled. With him being our first child, we are just so happy with how comfortable he has been and I love that the infant, toddler and two rooms have windows that can look into the next room so that helps ease the transition as the child gets older. I also love how secure the center is and am comfortable knowing all parents and care givers need to sign an affidavit indicating no guns will be brought into the center.

When I was 6 months pregnant and planning for childcare, I looked into this school. The woman who met with me told me very little — she wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me very basic information like prices or waitlist times. She was short with me, explaining that the person who usually conducts these meetings was gone. This woman didn’t even TRY to encourage me to apply or choose this particular daycare center. She then told me they have a no-gun policy which I’d need to sign and have notarized before she could give me a tour, so I wasn’t shown or told anything about the center. In addition to the short responses, this seemed like another attempt to deter me from applying (I’d actually already been inside before due to being an emergency contact of an enrolled child). The experience was very disappointing; it ultimatey it seemed like she was discriminating based on my appearance (possibly being a younger parent, how I was dressed, etc). Still, desperate for childcare I applied and included the non-refundable application fee. To this day, over a year later, I have never heard back from them. I ended up taking my son to Kingdom Kids in Manhattan, who were much more kind and just had their daycare center beautifully renovated.

I went by to try and get pricing and wait list information, and also see the facilities. The doors were locked (only open to a code), which is great (and the only reason for two stars), but I was ignored when I rang the bell and also knocked. There was a woman at the desk right by the door that I could see and she was blatantly ignoring me. I had a child I was holding, so I wasn’t just some random person knocking. A parent of an enrolled child went in and asked someone to help me. When I pushed the button for the call box, someone answered and was very rude. I mentioned that I would like information about pricing and the wait list. Seems easy. She follows up with, “Well....what do you want to know??” I responded with the price, which she gave. When I asked for information about how long the waitlist may be or when I could expect my child to start if added to the list she said she didn’t keep that information. When I asked if someone else did, she said no. That seems like pretty basic information to have on hand so parents can know what to expect. She was short and seemed annoyed that I was bothering her with legitimate questions. It did make my decision very easy though. I won’t be trying to have my child attend the KSU childcare center.
