Both Dr. Skinner and Nurse Practitioner Alexander are friendly, caring and efficient. Their staff is is awesome and I would recommend this office for anyone needing a primary care physician.

Ive only met with Dr. Skinner once and he was very kind, funny and easy to talk to. I have a condition with no cure or often not even an acknowledgment so I fear seeing doctors, but he was GREAT! Makes me hopeful.

Dr. Skinner is a good doctor but theres not much communication. Takes forever to get a response on any questions thats if you get a response at all. Hard to get thru to anyone when you call. Then you leave a message and Noone calls you back. Prescription refills take forever. Staff says they pass on the info but nothing gets done. Makes you feel as a patient that you are not important.

First, the receptionist Drew is amazing, so kind, open, and a winning personality! (I just spoke with her this morning! Great way to start the day!!)Secondly, Dr. Skinner is the best PCP Ive ever had; hes accomplished, kind, listens, and is so willing to help. I suffer from CPTSD, and he completely took that into consideration when I first moved here to Lubbock a little over a year ago. Dr. Skinner, please dont ever move; youre so wonderful, and so is your staff.What a lucky find!!! Im very impressed with High Plains Primary Care.

Dr. Skinner is a phenomenal physician. His staff lacks a lot to be desired. Their customer service and insurance billing needs some serious training. Waiting 6 months to bill for an office visit is uncalled for! Also staff doesnt update information in a timely manner. You shouldnt have to have a surgeon send multiple requests for 5 months to get records either.

Very friendly and helpful receptionists. Short waiting time every time I go in. All staff is very sweet and caring. Skinner is very sweet, understanding and makes sure that you get the care you need. Usually a 10-15 minute appointment depending on what you are here to get checked out.

Dr.Skinner has been our PcP for about 15 years and him and his staff are great, he is easy to talk to and he a great doctor but he does not seem to be like other doctors that treat you as a number, he actually talks to you like a friend would and makes your visits less stressful and more enjoyable, Thank God for Derek Skinner and his staff.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Skinner for 12 years. I speak so highly of him to my family that now my mom, dad, brother all go to him as well. Aside from being great at what he does, he’s super easy to talk to. I’m beyond excited that he has his own practice, it’s so much easier to get in to see him. The front desk has been super friendly. The only perplexing thing I’ve observed is that the nurses have to come out to the waiting room to get the next patients chart or to the front desk. I feeL it would be more efficient if they had a connecting window and/or door to get access to charts and reception without having to walk completely around the front desk.

Dr. Skinner is very knowledgeable and dependable! He takes time with each of his patients and does a thorough assessment. He makes sure that his patients have the best care! His office staff is courteous and extremely helpful!

Attempted to establish this clinic as a new primary care as I recently moved to Lubbock. Arrived prior to my appt. Very few people in the waiting room. 30 minutes later still sitting in the empty waiting room. Asked the reception why the delay? An RN then took my blood pressure and placed me in an exam room. Another 30 min goes by. Nothing. I got up and walked out.

Hands down Dr. Skinner is the best! Hes been my PCP for a few years now! No matter how small the issues is he always takes you seriously! 100 percent recommend him to any one looking for a PCP!! His staff is super nice and helpful as well!
