Dr. Chhetri is a gem—the caliber of doctor who is capable of making all the difference. He certainly did so for me: in the span of one exceedingly thorough consultation (almost a full hour), he pinpointed a rare diagnosis outside of his specialty that had plagued me undetected for over 5 years. I had suffered greatly with a puzzling collection of symptoms which induced immense pain on a daily basis; before Dr. Chhetri, I had seen 7 subspecialists covering 3 different fields of medicine at a top tertiary care center as well as within private practice. No one had any answers, let alone solutions. Dr. Chhetri gave me both with his revelatory insight: diagnosis in hand, I have been able to pursue the best of medical and surgical care; now my quality of life is exceptionally improved with more hope for the future than ever. I can’t recommend Dr. Chhetri highly enough, and have indeed referred my closest friends and family to him. He possesses the most rarified combination of top attributes in medicine—intellectual giftedness, expansive knowledge, refined clinical skill, astute diagnostic acumen, significant breadth of experience, meticulous attention to detail, pride in his job, investment in individualized patient care, and last but not least, kindness, patience, and compassion. Never having met me previously, he took the time and expended the effort to look carefully at my case in its entirety: through the process of assessing me as a whole patient, he diagnosed that which no one else could. Words fail to convey my gratitude; how can you ever properly or sufficiently thank someone for having given you your life back? I have had tonsilectomy surgery 6 time for tonsil stones and all ent doctors couldnt diagnose issue of my swallowing problem mr chetri performed lingual tonsilectomy on me and even fixed my regurgitation problem acid reflux and now i can even swallow with no problem or feeling of food stuck in my throat he is an amazing doctor i highly highly recommend him has changed my life.

I have seen Dr. Chhetri on and off for the 10+ years since I made it through vocal cord cancer in 2004. He has always offered the cutting edge diagnostics and therapy for the voicebox issues that have persisted. He takes the time and effort to educate me on the options and helps in the decision. In many years of being at the UCLA Neck & Neck Center where he teaches, I have never been treated as anything other than an very important patient.

Almost 10 yrs ago he did a trach resection on my daughter and he was amazing. Great manner, very knowledgable and I cant recommend him more highly.

I was initially pleased to be able to access UCLA and its doctors to address the large cyst on my neck. The doctors who worked under Dr Chhetri seemed knowledgable, and took time to look at me. Dr Chhetri, on the other hand, took less than a minute looking at me to recommend surgery as the best option to resolve my issue. The next time that I saw him was after I had surgery, when he declared that it was a success, and again disappeared and never heard from again.All in all, I am very disappointed with UCLA — especially this ENT. For what is supposed to be a great research and teaching facility, I am surprised and upset that there is zero follow up with the patient (unless you call them repeatedly), education about what to expect for the healing process — I now have a giant scar on my neck and have persistent numbness at my chin — nor do they even seem to care. The one doctor I did get to speak with after surgery seemed annoyed and/or apathetic about the questions I was asking regarding recovery, nor did he really seem to know anything.The question that I repeatedly go to is: how can you make an informed decision to advise surgery or its potential ill effects, if you are collecting absolutely no data about the recovery process? All that I can presume is that this doctor is making recommendations to keep his job and collect only one thing: thousands of dollars from idiots like me who listen to them, based upon the false authority of the UCLA banner.Final message is that medicine should still involve some amount of ethics when making decisions for your patients.
