Don’t miss out! This place is Amazing! $20 for parking. Free entry into museum. You park, then take a tram to the top. Everyone working there is so very nice and welcoming!!! The place is gorgeous! Not everything was open when I went, a good reason to go back! The gated is small, but has so much packed in. I’ll add photos of both the center and the garden. Be sure and make a free reservation online! Limited due to pandemic. Masks worn at all times. Don’t go if you don’t want to follow the rules. There is a lot of security. The security people were also very nice, but they have hard jobs. Lots of people were breaking the rules and getting called out. I appreciated the safe environment. The place is pristine and it takes a great team to keep it that way.

Ive been to the Getty twice and both times leave me wanting to come back for more because theres just not enough time to see it all. This last time, mid October, several of the galleries were closed, but the pieces we did see were as amazing as always. I enjoy the views, as much as I enjoy the art. The grounds are meticulously maintained.Parking is $20 I hear. Weve always taken the train and/or bus. Mass transit is pretty easy in LA.A perfect way to spend the day.

Just walking and observing the architecture is an extraordinary experience.Park your car, then take the tram to the top...or you can take the 20-minute walkHead to their website for special exhibits. The Getty is an art museum where you get to see various paintings and sculptures. It is a great place to visit with family.Below are some tips:* While its free to get in, you need to make reservations. This allows them to control the amount of people going in.* The place does not get very crowded so it is easy to get same day reservations, however keep checking their website as early morning slots go fast.* Parking is located away and you have to pay $20 to park. They provide free tram to get to Getty.* Getty is known for their garden so good to start there and then go inside the buildings to cool off and view the paintings and sculptures.* They have a big dining area in the middle and small Cafe to get food.* Located at an elevation, Getty can get hot while walking outside. Keep extra water.* You can get good view of the city from higher floors.* Building has very good architecture.Overall great place to go with family, especially if you enjoy garden, paintings, and sculptures.

A must experience for enjoyers of culture and panoramic LA county sky lines. The tram itself is almost worth the $0 free tickets and $20 parking fee. Inside adorably touristy music is played while on an impressive ride up the mountain side. When you board, sit on the side opposite the waiting platform to see the best views without contorting your body. The exterior of the Getty is truly impressive. Architecture, views, plant-life, all of it. Though, I was surprised to see so few sculptures those of which were in designated areas. Most areas were not crowded when I went - a weekday on off season. However, if you plan on an unobstructed view of one of the collections most famous pieces - Van Goghs Irises - plan to wait.If you are an art novice or want to dig deeper into the art, Id recommend downloading the Getty app with the audio. The Getty does have kid activity guides (detective game) in the front lobby.

The Getty is a life experience every time I come here. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the city this beautiful edifice to art and culture shines as a platinum white treasure of LA. Her bosom brimming full with beautiful garden pathways accented with stylized water attractions and inspiring architecture make for an exciting outdoor experience. As for what youll find inside the hallowed halls of this institution is of great substance. Divine examples of human expression manifest in artistic brilliance. This is somewhere that is very special I would recommend heartily to anyone. I would suggest having plenty of time to see the exhibits but even if youre only here for a short while Im sure the majesty of this place will resonate with you.

Words can’t even describe the feeling this place will give you, i am absolutely speechless and amazing by how beautiful it is here. When you first walk in you will be greeted by employees, (you are supposed to have a reservation) however we didn’t and neither did the people in front of us if they are having a slow day and have cancellations you should be able to enter but if not you can’t. So please make sure you call ahead of time to either make a reservation or to see if they are busy.We had the choice of walking up a hill which takes about 20 minutes, or you can take the tram 🚊 free of charge. We took the tram and got and amazing video of the view it will take you 5 minutes to get all the way to the top.Once you step of you are told where you should start to walk through. This place is huge so wear good shoes. the paintings and sculptures where absolutely stunning you are able to take pictures as long as you don’t use flash. They have a beautiful garden you are able to walk through and they even have benches if you get tired walking down! They have pomegranate trees (my favorite) and lots of other plants.Parking is free as long as you only stay for and hour after that it’s $20, considering you don’t have to pay for looking at any of the art or going to the gardens it is a pretty fair deal in my opinion. If you have never been here please come to experience it! You’re expectations will not be let down 🥰

My girlfriend and I consider ourselves incredibly lucky to live in Southern California, as there are so many amazing hiking trails, breathtaking vistas, and utterly stimulating places to visit that many dont have the luxury of being in their back yard. The LA Zoo, the LA Arboretum and Botanic Garden, the Griffith Observatory, the Mt. Wilson Observatory/CHARA Array, and of course the fantastic Getty Museum! We always have a fun an fascinating time here and could literally spend days combing over all the paintings, sculptures and photographs that this museum has to offer. Not only is the collection of art top tier, but the venue and location itself yields many amazing moments. I highly recommend that you take a day to explore the Getty Museum. And you could spend another 30 mins or an hour for garden and display.Lots of seating area both indoors and outdoors. There are phone charger station, coat check, water fountains in the main building/ Museum entrance hall next to restroom.Come early, and go to West Pavilion first before it gets crowded. Food can be ordered online, I didnt get a chance to try it, but I had a good 9000 steps during visit.Pay parking ticket by tram stop or in the garage before you leave. I cannot rave enough about how amazing this place was. The architecture, fountains, gardens, and (of course) the museum all coalesce to create an amazing experience that is well-worth the time. Literally used as the filming location for heaven in The Good Place, everything about the atmosphere here is incredible. Paying for parking is the only expense (the museum is free), which makes it great for families to make this stop affordable for the whole crew. So pleasantly surprised by this peaceful, modern oasis perched above Los Angeles.

The coolest art museum one can go to. The views are terrific as well. If you’re in the SoCal area definitely take the time to visit this place!

An amazing collection in a wonderful architectural and landscaping experience, and it’s free! One of the greatest art museums in the USA; you owe it to yourself to make a visit.

I love the staff. The staff were probably my favorite part of the museum. The museum itself is beautiful. Shout out to this guy who helped retrieve my lost phone! Haha made my day

Nice museum if you like art. Fairly affordable since you only pay $20 per car for parking. Landscaping at the facility was really nice. Also a great view of LA from on top of the mountain.
