This gym changed my opinion of gyms! I could never stick to them before. So thankful Matt convinced me to join. Their spin classes are AMAZING. Jules is the best instructor ever! Changed my workout life and has really motivated me to reach new heights. David is also a wonderful instructor - puts a ton of effort into his class themes :) (on the weekend). I highly recommend you check it out!!!

Writing this evaluation at the same time as still in quarantine due to covid-19. My sister and that i started coming to this gymnasium sometime in January 2020 and from the very first class, we had been in love! There are specific trainers/coaches and there are many instructions to select from so whether or not you are operating or a student, there might be nonetheless availability so that you can take a category. additionally they have organization activities on Sunday’s which weve no longer been in a position to participate in but I’m sure theyre notable. once more, extraordinary classes! high-quality humans and that is coming from a person who as soon as strained their wrist after choosing up a pencil. The trainers make sure which you realize what sporting activities to do and that they definitely do take their time to show you ways to correctly do the physical games. My sister and i had formerly attended any other kickboxing/cross in shape gym however it didn’t sense as “domestic” as this place.recollect to take consideration of ways agencies in particular small agencies run throughout covid-19 and that i need to present a large way to anyone right here due to the fact even in the course of those difficult times, the trainers were encouraging every person inside the gym to hold running out at domestic or at a park thats super. they have zoom lessons and different methods to help those caught at domestic to preserve working out and that i truly admire that.five/5 starts offevolved due to the fact I cannot price higher. that is honestly a gem of an area full of high-quality humans AND there is PARKING!!!!!!! not to mention, an area where people honestly recognise your name. unique shout out to Pete for maintaining anybody stimulated but ordinary, thanks to all of the exquisite coaches right here! desire to look you all as soon as this is over!

Across the board this place is awesome. The team really goes out of their way to make you feel attended to, and comfortable. They customize your training to fit your preferences and really emphasize listening to your body and not pushing it too hard too quickly, which helps avoid injuries or burn out. Cant recommend highly enough, feel thankful to have found them!

Writing this review while still in quarantine due to covid-19. My sister and I started coming to this gym sometime in January 2020 and from the very first class, we were in love! There are different trainers/coaches and there are many classes to pick from so whether you are working or a student, there is probably still availability for you to take a class. They also have group activities on Sunday’s which we have not been able to participate in but I’m sure they are great. Again, amazing classes! Great people and this is coming from someone who once strained their wrist after picking up a pencil. The trainers make sure that you know what exercises to do and they really do take their time to show you how to properly do the exercises. My sister and I had previously attended another kickboxing/cross fit gym but it didn’t feel as “home” as this place.Remember to take consideration of how businesses especially small businesses run during covid-19 and I want to give a huge thanks to everyone here because even during these tough times, the trainers have been encouraging everyone in the gym to continue working out at home or at a park which is great. They have zoom classes and other methods to help those stuck at home to continue working out and I truly appreciate that.5/5 starts because I cannot rate higher. This is truly a gem of a place filled with great people AND THERE IS PARKING!!!!!!! Not to mention, a place where people actually know your name. Special shout out to Pete for keeping everyone motivated but overall, thank you to all the wonderful coaches here! Hope to see you all as soon as this is over!

Dropped in while I was in town visiting a friend. Came to a few morning CrossFit classes. The coach was really welcoming and did a great job at explaining workouts and working with any limitations members had. Its a smaller gym, but we were able to get the work done without any issues. The members I spoke to were all friendly, and it looks like the gym puts on fun events and challenges for them to participate in. I would definitely recommend this gym.

I never stick with a workout. But, Ive been going to Peak 5 for over a year and not only has it helped me, but it feels like home. The owner, Pete knows every member and their goals. He cares about your success and gives you every tool possible you need to succeed. The workouts are tough and have pushed me in ways I didnt believe possible. Im stronger in body and mind. I love my classmates. I have never been more encouraged. No competition attitudes here. I couldnt reccomend this place more. By far the best gym Ive ever been to.

Peak 5 is a place for those looking to begin or continue a serious fitness journey. Their coaches are real leaders and they take personal interest in every member.Ive been a part of the gym for over a year. In that time, not only have I made personal gains that Im incredibly proud of, I also made some great friendships. Im normally someone whos fairly introverted, but its impossible to not engage with the positivity this place creates. Egos are checked at the door and you never feel like youre being judged. What I enjoy about Crossfit is that it concentrates on being strong. Its not about fad diets and its not about just looking good. Progressing in Crossfit results in functional strength that benefits you in the real world. Im almost 40 and last year I hiked the John Muir Trail (220 miles) in just 14 days. Its an accomplishment Im incredibly proud of and Peak 5 was a major factor in making it possible.Overall, this is a great place. If youre curious, you should just head over and check it out. The owner, Pete, is a really great guy who genuinely cares about the well being of each member. Hes always ready with both fist bumps and ensuring youre motivated to do your best.

The coaches are excellent - friendly, fun, and focused on form and function instead of just pushing everyone to lift as much and as hard as they can. For most of my life I have had extremely flat feet splayed out in a V-shape and lower back pain as a result. After a few months at Peak 5, I still have the flattest feet of anyone Ive ever met, but now I know how to stand and move to compensate for that. It really helps to have someone who knows what theyre doing coach you through weightlifting movements -- you can feel the changes even when youre not lifting weights. The owner, Pete, really gives a damn about the people who go to his gym. He might be as persistent as the Duolingo owl, but a lot more convincing. Also, this place has none of the cult-y vibe that other crossfit gyms might have.

I left LA more than a year ago, and I still long for this place. Ive done CrossFit at several other locations, and CFCOA always, always wins. Why? Because the coaches actually COACH you! There is no need to feel intimidated by what those super-fit folks are doing over there, the coaches here help you to focus on what YOU need to do. I attended classes here for more than a year, and its safe to say I learned something new in each and every class. I also had fun doing it. And fun workouts are the ones that keep me motivated!

For most of my life, I stayed in shape by playing team sports. I never got into a gym routine on my own -- working out alone, with no goal other than working out, bores the crap out of me. I missed camaraderie and the benefits of being in good physical condition, though, and I got to a point when I felt like my day-to-day was suffering (pinched nerves, back issues) due to a lack of consistent physical training. Id heard snippets about CrossFit from co-workers -- mostly those that made it sound extremely cultish, but I was hesitantly intrigued anyway.CFCOA was the first (and -- because it was awesome -- only) CrossFit box I looked into. Petes down-to-earth demeanor and welcoming spirit hooked me right away... as did that glorious feeling of next-day-soreness following my intro session. That was a year and a half ago, and I havent looked back since.I enjoy the team-like energy that happens every time I go in for a workout, regardless of the time of day, who leads the class, or how many people show up. Its fun to never know quite what youre going to be doing on any given day (the latter is true of CrossFit in general, not just this box).Im one of a handful of vegans at CFCOA, and Pete and the rest of the trainers are nothing but supportive and encouraging. They are humble enough to realize we dont have all the intricacies of the human body figured out, and they encourage everyone to find what works for them. Ive had numerous discussions about the pros and cons of meat/dairy/grains/etc., and I consistently feel as though everyone is open to learning and exploring. Ive never felt mocked or less-than because of my dietary choices (which keep me progressing solidly, I might add).To be fair, I havent checked out other CrossFit gyms; to be honest, I dont have any desire to. This place feels like home, and new members are always welcomed with open arms. Come visit us.

The quality of the training, the facilities, and the community makes the CrosFit affiliate stand out above the rest. There is heart in this gym. Aside from the coaches, the excellent core curriculum, classes, and longevity series - COA offers a weekly local organic vegetable and free-range egg co-op, with dietary counseling, and nutrition plans to supplement all aspects of the athletes health. Finally, the community is inclusive of all men and women, backgrounds, lifestyles and athletic levels, not just hard-core jocks, which is something I have found off-putting in the past about CrossFit gyms. The community is growing every day, and with the formation of a competition team, it looks like COA is expanding in a wonderful new direction.

First off, Ive been to a gym before. Ive been inside one. Never done a lick of exercise there. I have no gym experience. At all.My girlfriend scouted out many boxes and decided upon this one. She set me up to meet with Pete Roulet (owner) who evaluated me with an introductory workout (much less than the standard warm up for members!). I was beat after my introduction... and sore. Pete is very approachable and I really liked his take on what healthy should be. It may be the same outlook that most trainers and gyms have, but since I have zero experience with them its new and refreshing to me. I like his vibe.I was always very skeptical about working out in a gym and being eyed by all the people. Im a solitary kind of person so that was always a sticking point. The gym is small compared to my perception of what a gym was. I like it. Its more personable. The membership is not cheap but Im totally fine with it. I can justify it because I know how I am and for the times when I have tried to workout on my own, Ive failed. If Im doing something like push-ups and I get tired, I stop. Workout done. Being here makes a difference to me that Im willing to pay for. Having a trainer push me on for 1 or 2 more makes a difference to me. Looking around and seeing everyone else giving it their all makes me think why arent I pushing just as hard?I dont have the motivation or drive on my own and I factor that into the cost of being here. I want the drive but just dont have it in me. Im really enjoying and appreciating the personal attention Im able to get here. The trainers are awesome; Pete, Iz, Rose, Joe and Angel. Thank you.Im very interested in learning proper form and technique and that is exactly what they are pushing. They provide me with tips and corrections while Im working out. I love it. Just what I was looking for.I dont think I can say enough good things about this gym. Its small and not intimidating. The staff and members are all great and very friendly.I feel sore all the time. It feels great. I love it. I sleep better. I want to eat healthier (still not there yet). I can feel some improvement in my stamina and strength. Its only been 2 weeks and Im really enjoying it. Ive never worked out before and I can now see the appeal of making oneself better.CFCOA (CrossFit City of Angels) is a very welcome addition to my life!I just feel good.

After attending here for three years, I feel confident that CFCOA has earned a full five stars. I joined because I loved both the community and the high quality of training, but now that theyve moved to a great new facility, it also has all of the amenities you could hope for -- parking, showers, a rock-climbing wall and more.Whether youre dropping in or looking to join a new gym, CFCOA is going to give you a killer workout and amazing community. This place has revolutionized the way I exercise and eat, and thats not even the best part. The people who join here are people who want to be part of a mutually supportive experience. Ive lived in L.A. for more than 10 years and Ive never experienced community this quickly and genuinely. Our relationships extend outside the gym, which is something I would have never expected.Ive dropped in at dozens of boxes in L.A. and around the country, and I feel confident that CFCOA is a great place to meet your goals. You have to be willing to put in the time and effort to develop your body and your community, but if youre willing to do so, CFCOA is a the place to make it happen.
