Everyone at west la dogs is amazing!! not only are their services reasonably priced, but their staff go above and beyond with you and your furry ones. our dog always smells like a flower after her bath, and you can tell the staff spent a lot of time grooming her. she has also gone for daycare and boarding for over 5 years, and we cant say enough good things about the staff. they are always so friendly and accommodating. thank you, west la dogs, our family loves you!!

My dog got Leptospirosis from this daycare. With the proper warning, my dog could have taken antibiotics and been cleared of the infection. Instead, my dog was hospitalized for over a week. This infection can potentially result in death or permanent severe kidney damage with or without liver damage. When we approached the staff and owners of the business, they failed to take any accountability and were quite aggressive. They should have closed for one day to disinfect the place and continuously contacted owners until confirming they were made aware.

AVOID TO SAVE YOUR DOG! My friend’s dog got Leptospirosis from here along with multiple other dogs in the Santa Monica area that are connected with West LA Dogs. He is fighting for its life now and the owner is deleting Yelp reviews and says they don’t care and refuses to shut down for the day to sanitize. Absolutely abhorrent.

Undoubtedly the best groomer Ive been to, and Ive had to shop around with some bad experiences. My dog has debilitating separation anxiety, is pretty much 0% cool with being touched in any capacity or being even a little wet, but West LA Dogs employs a sorceress named Cheyenne who does a perfect job with every service, quickly. I have no idea how, other than magic.Owner is an incredibly nice person, as well. The only thing that seems to make them happier than meeting a new customer is greeting a repeat. Someone who sincerely seems to love their business, and it shows. 10/10 recommend.

My experience with West LA dogs so far has been amazing! From the temperament test to the actual experience of drop off and pick up, the staff really seems to have an excellent system in place. Not only are they organized, they are extremely nice people who put me completely at ease leaving my pup for the first time at a place like this. Kygo came home exhausted from a day with the pack and the awesome humans who watch over them. They sent me photos for updates that put me even further at ease and alsomade me smile knowing he was having such a good time. The prices are very reasonable and I appreciate that I can take my pup to a place he loves and is affordable. Kygo and I are both so happy someone referred us here!

On 11-17-17 I picked Mason up from West LA Dogs (located at 2251 Federal Ave., LA CA 90064) with a bloody eye ball. When he was delivered to me, I asked immediately what happened to his eye. NO ONE at the daycare saw that his eyeball was injured nor did they have any explanation as to how that could have possibly happened or when. After being examined by my vet, she determined that Mason had a severe hemorrhage/bruising of the left eye along with periorbital swelling which is most consistent with blunt force trauma (a blow to the head). I requested a meeting with the owner, he finally called me a few days later. He first stated that if his employees couldn’t tell me what happened to my dog, neither could he because he wasn’t there and there was nothing he could or would do about that. After informing him that both my dogs (Mason and 6 month old Samson) would no longer be going his facility, I requested a refund of my monthly membership which he did agree to refund. He then became angry and told me: Mason was a highly aggressive dog that has been attacking dogs since his fist day there.Let me tell you a little bit about Mason. Mason is a shy, quiet dog. There are many people who can attest to his quiet demeanor which is why the accusation that Mason is highly aggressive attack dog, is a BOLD FACE LIE. SECONDLY, Mason has had a paid membership at West LA Dogs for 10 months, beginning when he was 4 months old. IF my dog was a highly aggressive attack dog, why was he allowed to go there? Why had he never been labeled as aggressive before? Why was every single one of his daily reports overflowing with positive comments? Why was my monthly payment of his membership accepted? Why was he allowed to play with other dogs at the daycare? Why was he returned to me in a lobby full of people and other dogs on a daily basis? And above all that, why was I NEVER informed of this assessment of his behavior BEFORE I inquired about his blunt force trauma eye injury?I asked for video of the day Mason was injured and the owner complied. He sent me 3 videos labeled “Mason Attack Videos”. The videos are 10 – 20 seconds long and show nothing but dogs running around. One video goes blank and picks back up 4 seconds later. When I asked why that video cut out and for the full unaltered video, the owner became angry and accused me of falsely claiming that Mason is not aggressive. He further stated my claims that the footage was altered were “slanderous speculation.” I am EXTREMELY LIVID that Mason received this kind of injury with no action taken to inform me at the time it happened. I am LIVID that no action was taken to get him veterinary care before I came to pick him up that day. I am LIVID at the lack of compassion and care my dog received at West LA Dogs. And I am LIVID that the owner didn’t value my business relationship enough to take any responsibility for his and his employees’ negligence or offer any kind of apology, or concern for me or my dog. I am LIVID that the people I trusted my puppy with betrayed his and my trust. Needless to say, Mason is NO LONGER going to West LA Dogs. The fact that this is how the daycare and the owner handled this situation in such a bizarre, passive-aggressive manner lets me know that both my dogs are better off never returning there.I filed a police report with the LAPD Animal Cruelty Task Force. The LAPD did an investigation in which the expert opinion of the LAPD vet came to the same conclusion as my vet; that Mason’s injury was the result of blunt force trauma (a blow to the head). The LAPD then turned Mason’s case over to the LA City Attorney’s Office but due to the fact that they were unable to determine who at West LA Dogs was responsible for causing Mason’s injury that day, the City Attorney was unable to press charges.I had to wait to make this post due to the police investigation into Masons case at the time of his injury. Attached to this review are pictures of Masons injury.

My Aussie has been going to West L.A. Dogs since he was 6 months old and hes now almost 8 years old. To date all I have to say is, Wilson, want to go see the puppies? and he knows this means hes going to W. LA Dogs; hes at the front door, jumping, whining, and waiting to go.If you understood how reserved Wilson is around other dogs youd never believe its the same pup. Once we arrive, he rushes to the door and then to the back where they take him to his friends. Wilson may not romp and play with the other pups as much but he enjoys watching them and being in their company. My husband and I figure this is similar to a spa weekend for Wilson where he can just relax and enjoy life without having to be on and herding his people 24/7.All the staff at this facility are first rate. They all know Wilson, know what he likes, and seem to love him. Anytime hes got an unusual symptom they text me to let me know and if I ask what hes doing *right now* someone will take a photo and text it to me.We love this place :)

West LA dogs is amazing! My dog Oscar went there for boarding for eight days and he had the best time! He is an older dog and has never been boarded before. The staff send you pictures of them while they are there and response to text messages fast. They also keep you up to date about everything that might be happening with your dog. I highly recommend west la dogs to anyone who is nervous about leaving their dog for the first time. Oscar will be visiting in the future.

We have brought our two boys here for almost a year now, and it’s continuously been the BEST experience! We tried a few other doggy daycares before finding West LA Dogs, and simply nothing compares! The staff is very caring and attentive! And we and our dogs love the indoor/outdoor layout! Every day when I go to pick up our boys after work, they run towards me super happy, like kids at Disneyland, and then they literally turn around to run back inside to play!!! They love it THAT MUCH! I’m so very glad that we found this wonderful place where we know our dogs are happy, loved, safe and having fun!

My dog has been coming here weekdays for 3 years now and she loves it. So many human and puppy friends to play with, split into Big Dog and Little Dog areas. There are raised beds for taking the sun, plenty of clean turf, kiddie pools and garden hoses when it’s hot!Everyone there is clearly a big time dog lover like anyone who would bring their dog there. Good rates, great pack of people, wonderful pack of dogs!

Love love love these guys!!! They have been so helpful and understanding with our anxious dog. We always get a report when she stays so for example, we know to feed her if she skipped a meal overnight. Not a big deal but it makes us feel good that were not accidentally starving our dog. In general just really freindly, dog loving staff that we feel very comfortable leaving our fur baby with.

My dog Stella has had a membership at West LA dogs for the last year and I couldn’t be a happier dog owner. Not only do they take great care of her (she loves it so much she rushes to the back when we arrive), but they arguably saved her life. She has a sever allergy to bee stings, and she was stung while playing. Not only did the team notice right away because of their attention and care to the pups, but they had her to the vet immediately. They called me right away and ensured that she got the emergency medical attention she needed. I love that they’re great with caring for her, and I’d recommend them to anyone who’s considering.

West LA Dogs is the best! I wouldnt trust any other doggy daycare with my dog Pomona. Every year Pomona and I travel down to LA for a week or two to visit family in Santa Monica and to attend the Pasadena Grooming Expo. Not a doubt in my mind that my baby girl is in the best care. When I pick her up at the end of her day she is barely wants to leave; I feel like my dog is getting the best of the doggy world... being social with other dogs and making friends! I do not attend West La Dogs on a normal basis, but the staff there always remember us and that must mean something! The fact that Pomona and I have been doing this for years since she was a young pup; and how excited they are to see us, makes us feel like we are athome. Burt and Valerie are great people and have very high standards...which trickle down, and you can see it in their employees. I wouldnt trust any other crew with my dog! Thank you West LA Dogs!

I absolutely LOVE West LA Dogs and the all the employees who work there.I adopted my Pitbull Mix from their rescue group last year and I am so grateful for everything they did for my little girl. They had rescued her from a local shelter where she was in pretty rough shape. Missing hair, full body yeast infection, extremely shy with people, etc. I watched her transform on their Instagram page and knew I had to adopt her. I came down to the facility several times to meet with her and take her on walks, and every single time I was there the staff was so warm and accommodating. Watching Tulip with the different employees was so sweet too, every employee treated her with the most genuine love and kindness. This place is completely different from any other dog daycare I’ve toured. Tulip is currently enrolled in daycare where we live now, but it doesn’t compare to West LA Dogs. Perks: the staff are true dog professionals and have a genuine LOVE for dogs, the Instagram page is fun to follow, the facility is clean and well kept, their indoor/ outdoor set up is massive, all the dogs seem so calm and happy! AND the rescue work they do for neglected shelter dogs is commendable. I could go on for days about how awesome this place is but I think you get the point. 5 stars hands down!
