I’ve been waiting three days to speak to someone to attempt to make an appointment. I call, they tell me to hold and hang up every time. It is disappointing to see how your injury and pain is of no concern to this office

I came to the clinic for an appointment on (9-6-21) only to find out that the place was closed and that my appointment was cancel without any notice. I am disable and have my nephew here to help me . We called to check what had happen , but the representative we talk to said that there were no appointments because they were cancel , but none of us got a call or notice , made for that day , we werent the only ones to arrive w an appointment scheduled for that day. Theres a handful of people waiting to be seen , unaware that its closed. We called multiple times to get a supervisor number but was told not to bug no more and to just figure it out. This isnt the first or last time that they mess up my appointments and they lack costumer service, are very rude. I am exhausted, and live far from this location. It is unprofessional the way their offices treats their clients. We even called on Friday to confirm the appointment. They take forever to answer and the called usually is hangup.

I came to the clinic with my aunt on 9-6-21 , and found out that there were no appointments made for that day because the place is closed. I called to talk to a representative only to be told that they had cancel all appointments for that day. My aunt wasnt the only one who showed up to the clinic with an appointment scheduled, there was a handful of ppl waiting. Mind that my aunt is disabled from her hands. Not only that , she lives far from the location and has to deal with these mishaps. The representative was very rude , I even ask to get a supervisor number and she said she couldnt give out the number. I been helping my aunt with her visits and scheduling. Theres always a hassle to get in touch with them and it takes hours to get an answer. Theres always a problem with misplaced appointments and misplaced information. The ppl from the office are very rude and unprofessional. I dont understand how a clinic can be so neglectful to its patients. It seems theres no care for anyone and they disregard the patients struggle to be seen.

Yes DR Gary Chen and Dr. Willoughby are the best in Los Angeles. I am so greatful to be going back after the COVID MESS. I was sheduled for knee replacement I have lost 200 pounds and then COVID HIT US and I was attacked in the streets by a crazy leftist. I just want to carry on and get the heck out of Los Angeles. And back to work. What a nightmare. But hey excited to see Chief of microsurgery Gary Chen. Five stars for these guys ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Their doctors are good but the admin staff is absolutely useless, selfish, and careless. I have spent 5 weeks trying to straighten up an authorization for therapy which would have likely taken them 5 minutes on the phone with my orthopedic doctor staff and insurance. However these bunch of arrogant lazy cows refuses to move a finger for their patients, and refuses to communicate with the insurance like any other doctors office would. Absolutely NOT worth the aggravation and the painful delay of your treatment!!!

Called in after my dr sent the referral and they told me it was incorrect and that it didn’t specify which body part had the injury. Called my dr back and they said the notes were correct and the looked at the referral and said it wasn’t sent incorrectly. My dr office sent another referral out just to double check. I called the this institute back and they said they never received it and also stated that the dr want taking mew patients anymore. I called my office back and they said they received the referral since it said received. So they gave me the run around instead of telling me that the specialist wouldn’t see me not only that but this lady or receptionist was being rude to me and it sounded like an Asian lady, she hung up on me after I asked to speak with her boss and told me she was the boss. Scheduling here is bad. And theirs no professionalism here in this office.

When my son was assigned to Dr Chen in Cerritos I did my due diligence and found some very bad reviews. Nonetheless I kept an open mind. Our experience with Dr Chen was a solid 5 star!! Of course it is a busy office and sometimes u have to wait for an appointment. This is true of most DR offices. The important thing is the care. I can not praise Dr Chen and his staff enough. My son is a boxer and they took special care with him, understanding that this is his passion and he wants to return to it. We met with the amazing Dr Harris at every appointment ( who, fortunately for us, has boxing experience himself) and he helped us navigate the clinic and prepare my son physically and mentally for what the operation and subsequent therapy would entail. He was extremely attentive and interested in my son and I will forever be grateful. He was assisted by the wonderful Hilda, who was a bright and calming presence, also extremely attentive. And of course the amazing expert surgeon DR CHEN himself who performed the 2 procedures on his wrist and checked up on him every 6 weeks. We feel extremely lucky to have been connected to this team. My son is healing well and back on his way to a boxing career!

STAY AWAY! The staff is extremely rude, they hang up on you if they dont want to answer your question, they tell you you have an attitude when you call back looking to speak with an office manager and then when you are transferred to a supposed office manager the woman on the phone barks What do you want? over and over again without helping you. Extremely shady, disrespectful and down right rude. And I work for an attorneys office and one of our clients treats and their location and they have held our clients medical records and bills hostage, even though we have paid the copy fee. They pocketed the money but never gave us the records or bills. They are clearing hurting for money and class.

I was referred to Dr. Chen by my primary care physician because of Dupuytren’s Contracture in my right hand that was bothering me. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was not exactly friendly and then put me on hold for about ten minutes while she searched for the referral fax.Well, I just had my appointment and was shocked to find how shabby and ill kept their office is! The waiting area is dingy and poorly lit. Once I got into the exam room I was shocked bu the dingy floor and the chairs that looked like they had been hauled in from some alley, grimy and with naugahyde peeling off. The doctor (not Dr. Chen but a young blond guy) was nice enough but spent only a few minutes with me before heading to another patient. He did say he would arrange for me to see a hand therapist and he write a script for topical ointment. They want me to come back for a follow up, but I don’t want to go back to this depressing place.

This is the worst place to come to. I was referred here and had a 12pm appointment. I waited 1 hour only to watch the staff leave to lunch before even being called. It also took forever - like weeks to book a appointment just to be seen because they never answer the phone and there voicemail box seems to be always full. Uggh so irritated. They need to have more concern when it comes to considering other people time. Wo

Dr Gary Chen is a great surgeon who recently performed arthroscopic shoulder surgery on me to repair a separation in my rotator cuff. To avoid the masses visiting his LA office, I travel to his other offices in Southern California such as his office in Cerritos. If the waiting room is too crowded I ask the front office staff to call me on my cell when it’s my turn to see the doctor. This allows me to sit outside the office and grab some sunshine and fresh air while I await my turn to be seen. I highly recommend this skilled, and friendly surgeon.

Everything seemed rushed and unorganized, there were people standing by the walls and others still outside the waiting room. I still remember one of the nurses calling a number but no one came so the lady in the front dest told her it might be one of the people in the hallway... and this lady had the audacity to say she doesn’t want to go out there so she called someone else.

I’ve never had to deal with a doctor’s office like this one. Beyond irritating and amazed at how staff is rude and unwilling to do their jobs correctly and not help .My first appt. front desk was rude when i was asking questions, Doctor was nice and friendly. It has been a month and i still have not received my authorization paperwork because they just don’t feel like getting it done, i realized because i called in the 3rd week the response was it simply hasn’t been done yet,the same day they tried doing it because i was upset only to find out i had an insurance issue which i fixed the next day but the woman in authorizations was extremely stubborn in the back ground of another lady talking to me that i am not accepted there anymore, so why not call me and tell me to not waste my time? I called my insurance companies again and they said they were wrong they were able to fax and send the authorization so why is it the job wasn’t getting done.Calling is a hassle the phone is never answered or you are put in a very long hold. Both ladies answering authorizations are very rude especially one that had an asian accent which was hard to understand and was very rude and unprofessional and hung up on me. I’m one of many patients that puts money in to their check so for them to act that way what a disgrace.Disability paperwork is not done online so longer wait, you have to bring the paperwork from the edd, and they still want to charge $25 for the docs signature

Edit 6/30/17 again, find a different doctor. Finally saw a hand specialist but wanted to treat other areas outside of his specialty. Doctor was also unprofessional in discussion our case in making inappropriate comments. They charge $30 for medical records and edd forms in which they fill out when you go to pick them up in front of you. Also demand cash for treatment at point of sale instead of standard NET30 industry standard. Please, do not come here.Edit: 5/19/17 waited three whole hours for a doctors appointment scheduled three weeks in advanced. We checked in but they forgot to add our file to the list resulting in a 3 hr wait. The front office staff had left for the day and Dr Chen went home already. We got pawned off to another doctor than the one originally promised. Again, if you have PPO, find another place. If you have HMO, get a different referral.Doctor is great but staff is subpar. Mixed our file with the wrong doctor, waited an extra 30 mins for no reason. Sucks when you have to pay for parking, didnt eat lunch yet because you dont want to be late for the appointment, and best of all, now that you left the office later, traffic awaits you. The staff needs to be fired. At least buy us lunch since we are starving. Recommend getting medical care somewhere else. Not here.
