I needed a specialist and an expert, not a new “buddy”.And that is exactly what I got. I’ve seen multiple reviews stating that Dr. Cavanaugh and his staff are blunt, snippy, and uncaring. I saw it as quite the opposite. I’ve been dealing with some quite debilitating vertigo type issues for a while now and got referred by my PCP. Dr. Cavanaugh and his staff got me in on short notice and were extremely thorough and professional. He is blunt, extremely quick (in his thought process and explorations of the issue, not in that “let’s get you out the door” type of way) but also focused on what was wrong with me and how to help. I personally extremely appreciated that.He worked through his lunch hour today exploring different scenarios and treatments with me. If you want a doctor that will talk to you for 15 minutes about your family and pets and then 5 minutes about your problems and not really have any solutions (like I’ve had before) then yeah.. don’t go here. If you want someone that actually really wants to help fix you in an extremely thorough and efficient manner.. well here you go!

Dr. Cavanaugh was very thorough and to the point in diagnosing the problem with my voice that I asked him to treat. He developed a diagnosis and treatment plan and had me return for follow up. I was better quickly, and Ive been very pleased with his care.

I have been seeing Dr. Cavanaugh for a few months now and I am so grateful I went to him first. He has helped me immensely. I am sure if I went to someone else that I would have had multiple surgeries by now. He is super thorough and versed in his field. He is caring and looks for the root of the problem rather than a quick fix. His staff are extremely kind and do a great job as well. I could not recommend more!

I have never written a bad review. We were in a bad accident, in ICU for 2 days waiting for Cavanaugh to come evaluate why theres blood coming out of my husbands ear and when he blows his nose it blows right through his ear. Dr. (if thats what you want to call him) chose not to come and said to just schedule an appt after released. All of the ICU nurses and Drs kept him in ICU to get this evaluated before he could be discharged. Well now we have to schedule an appt. Neither of us can drive and we live 30 mins away from the city. Most horrible care Ive ever seen from a specialist, especially to an emergency! Shame on you! Im thankful in some way because he obviously doesnt care and probably wouldnt diagnose him correctly anyways.

My daughter went to see this Doctor. She told him upfront she did not want a scope - he did it anyway. He was completely rude about it. He did not listen to her and offered no advice. She then got the bill, she couldn’t believe he charged her what he did. When she called to ask about the bill the receptionist said “oh you’re the one that did not want the scope”. But basically said, TOO BAD! Pay it anyway! Please do not go to this Dr.

Wow. I never go out of my way to write a bad review for a service or experience but I unfortunately need to for this doctor and their office staff... especially when I told her I didnt want to have to do that but then she proceeded to tell me to go ahead and write a bad review...?I went in to talk about my deviated septum and get a second opinion. I had my previous ENT send over a scope that they had completed because they are very expensive. It was a recording of what my septum looks like and has always looked like since pretty much birth.I made sure to tell them I did not want a scope because I am a recent grad and do not have the funds.Without warning me Dr. Cavanaugh proceeded to prep the scope and then when I asked he told me he had to and then proceeded to stick the thing in my nose. It was horrible. I started to hold back tears and when he asked me what was wrong I reminded him that I mentioned I did not want that done.He wanted to then treat me for acid reflux which had nothing to do with my septum. After talking with other doctors they could not believe what this doctor had done.I tried to fight the bill but they tried to lie to me by telling me they already gave me a discounted one (even though it was MORE expensive than my first one). When I talked to the front desk they had even described me as the girl who didnt want a scope and the girl who left looking distraught and upset. Yet they did not want to help alleviate my stress and bad experience.I ended up going to a different doctor who was able to help me without needing to do a scope on me. They figured out how bad my septum is and knows what needs to be done! All in all- do not even think about going to this doctor... their staff and his demanding demeanor made for the worst experience I have ever had. He is just money hungry and does not listen to his patients.

My first appointment with Dr. Cavanaugh was in 2013 when I suffered a “sudden hearing loss” in my left ear and severe vertigo. Dr. Cavanaugh was very professional and thorough in his examination and his explanation of what to me of the issue. He treated my vertigo successfully and prescribed medication for the hearing loss. His follow up was outstanding. I am most impressed with his knowledge and attention to detail. Dr. Cavanaugh’s appointment notes are well kept and allows him to remain current on all associated issues. I recently had another “sudden hearing loss” issue with my right ear and vertigo. Dr. Cavanaugh immediately began treatment and my hearing loss has been restored.I must also mention his office staff. They are extremely helpful and most willing to assist you with your appointments.I would strongly recommend anyone with an ear or hearing issue to make an appointment with Dr. Cavanaugh for treatment.

I came to Dr. Cavanaugh about 6 months ago experiencing dizziness about every 2 months. I have gotten dizzy spells ever since I was 2 years old, I am now 19. I have gone to several doctors who kept telling me I had migraines. When I came to Dr. Cavanaugh’s office he diagnosed me with ear crystals. Since I have been seeing Dr. Cavanaugh I have only had one dizzy spell and have been feeling much better. He is a great doctor.

DO NOT GO HERE. Easily the worst experience I’ve ever had with so called “health care professionals”. Dr. Cavanaugh was extremely rude and abrasive. The staff is beyond rude and completely unhelpful. Save your money and time and take your business else wear. Shocked this place is in business based off how they treat their PAYING patients.

I have been seeing Dr. Cavanaugh for various issues over the last 8 years or so. He is an excellent physician. I am certain that I would have had one or possibly two unnecessary surgeries had I visited a different ENT.He is rare in his industry in that he generally wants to treat the root cause of an issue, not the symptoms. His goal isnt to prescribe medications or perform surgeries - his goal is to treat people. Sometimes that means people need to change their habits (like what they eat), and they dont always want to do this. If you are looking for a real solution to your problem, then he is the one for you. If you just want pills or a quick fix (or possibly unnecessary surgeries), look elsewhere. He may not have the best bedside manner, but what do you really want? A nice person who doesnt know how to fix you? Or someone with years of experience who can actually solve your issue.Dr. Cavanaugh is an excellent physician and I highly recommend him.

I am truly disappointed with this entire interaction. This could be the rudest , the most uncaring doctor I have ever met. With the personality of board. I would have been better off rolling down my window and throwing my money out the door!! Please don’t waste your time and money

Dr. Kavanaugh is very knowledgeable, efficient, and works at a fast pace. I recommend if you want to remember his explanations for his findings that you take notes with you. He is great at giving you a handout for all the important things you need to do to see if his treatment will help you. So even if you don’t remember all the reasons for what he is having you do, you’ll have all the information you need. He is not the most personable doctor you will meet so don’t expect any hand holding from him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for answers

I had a very pleasant experience with Dr Cavanauagh when my son saw him recently. He is a very intelligent man and thoroughly explained everything. I could see how some people might not get his personality as he is a little standoffish initially. I would encourage everyone to give him a chance and focus on his expertise and skill. In the end, isnt why we see a specialist to begin with?

Not a fan of this guy. He speaks VERY quickly when explaining things, and was very aggressive/impatient when asking for responses from me during treatment for dizziness/vertigo. Not personable whatsoever, and I left the appointment almost feeling worse mentally than I did when I got there. Doesnt explain why hes doing literally anything, just has you do it. He made me feel like i was too incompetent to talk to him. Would not recommend.

Dr. Cavanaugh did a really great job with my tonsillectomy. I have been to several doctors who told me my tonsils were the worst they had ever seen, but Dr. Cavanaugh explained to me that mine were enlarged but there was a chance they would get better with age (I am only 22), so it was really up to me whether or not I wanted to get them out based on how often I had been really sick over the past few years. For once, I didnt feel forced to do a procedure, and I felt like he really knew a lot, which later was confirmed when the surgery and the recovery went far better than I had ever anticipated. The office, the hospital where he performed my surgery, and Dr. Cavanaugh were all very friendly and attentive to me the day of my surgery too, which was nice because I was somewhat nervous to be put under. I highly recommend Dr. Cavanaugh; he is a very competent, thorough and helpful doctor.

On Friday the 13th, I ended up disconnecting most of my upper lip from my face. Luckily for me, Dr. Cavanaugh was at the hospital I was taken to. He stitched my face back together and you can hardly tell that anything ever happened. He was very professional about his work and I could tell that he had my very best interest in mind. Do not be shocked if he talks to you like an adult.

I had to get a tonsillectomy at the age of 20. After a brutal year previous that was filled with almost non-stop strep throat i started looking for solutions other than simply antibiotics, and I am so glad that I found Dr. Kevin Cavanaugh. He was professional and very direct in all of our meetings. He made sure I knew everything about the surgery before I went into the operating room. After my surgery he was always available by phone to ask questions and suggest solutions.I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a tonsillectomy or anything related to it.

Dr Canvanaugh is by far one of the finest practitioners I have ever been treated by. Insightful, analytical, and completely committed to resolving a patients condition. He has successfully diagnosed and treated every one of the problems my wife and I have had. I know of virtually only one other doctor that I hold anywhere near the level of respect I have for Dr Cavanaugh.I would highly recommend his services, and also suggest that the negative posts presented be ignored. Clearly, those people should have sought mental health professionals rather than an ENT

If I could give him negative stars, I would. As he was speaking to me, in the tiny ass room we were in, he burped in between each word.He didnt tell me what he was doing, just pulled out this weird device, shoved it up my nose and then didnt even suggest anything really helpful. Will not reschedule ever.

Honestly, this man saved my life. I had a reoccurring ear infections leading to rupture. I went to my GP and she called his office immediately and scheduled an appointment within the hour. As he began to try and help me he admitted he couldnt officially diagnose me until he had more information but as it was a time sensitive treatment he began treating me for Mastoiditis right away. He then insisted on seeing me each day until my condition got better. In the end he was right, he kept me out of the hospital, kept me from going deaf/developing a brain infection, and kept me from missing too much work/school.PSA: He is an incredibly smart man, but hes not personable at first but you need to just walk in his office with complete trust that he is taking care of you.

One of the worst medical interactions I have experienced. He was dismissive. He was aggressive in forcing out my responses.I felt like I was being cross-examined in a courtroom. Everything that is wrong with healthcare summed up with this physician.
