I had not been adjusted in almost a year. Dr. Shimer took the time to explain her adjustment process, and she also spent time learning about my family history. She provided thorough care and taught me the importance of proper walking. She also provided me some useful stretching exercises to keep me flexible. I would recommend Dr. Shimer!

When Dr. Shimer opened her own practice, I was ecstatic! I hunted her down when she left her former employer until I could find her because she is that good. Dr. Shimer has helped me so much with strength, core exercises, and, finally, I can stand up straight. Between the work of Dr. Shimer through regular cranial therapy and my massage therapist (SunMoon Medical Massage) my TMJ problems have almost disappeared! My mouth and jaw feel completely different. Having had back problems for over 20 years, this wonderful lady walked in our shop one day (3 doors down from the office). She told me she was a chiropractor and I mentioned an issue i had. She came over and looked at my neck and said she could help.Well that was during the holidays. I was scared. I had back surgery in 1983 and was worried about it. Well today I walked in for my first appointment. She made me feel at home, answered all of my questions, explained every step and OMG I feel like a new man. There was zero pain with the process, she explained each step and each move, walked me through everything including a follow up plan.I feel a zillion times better, I can walk straight instead of the 4-inch difference in my legs they are now equal. Wendy’s technique is refreshing and actually feels good. Every time I go, I notice a change in the pain or discomfort level, and she sends me home with exercises that help to retrain my muscle memory. Dr. Shimer is an excellent Chiropractor. Ive been seeing her for the last 4-5 years for various cervical and hip problems. She keeps me hiking and on skis -- even at age 53! My Dad introduced me to Chiropractic care when I was 13, after I had wrenched my neck water skiing. Ive gone to many Chiropractors during the last 40 years and Dr Shimer is the best. I couldnt recommend her more highly. Reasonably priced, too.

I first saw Dr. Shimer at The Joint in Longmont. I went in with my neck and shoulders so out of alignment and muscles so tight that I couldn’t move my head. She was gentle yet thorough and had me back to 100% mobility within a handful of visits. I once again tracked her down at her new office a few months ago when my lower back went out in the middle of moving. I hobbled into her office unable to stand and after some of her gentle yet firm adjustments, I walked out. After a few visits I was back to moving through the world pain free which felt like a miracle. With regular visits, she is helping me address some chronic hand numbness and helping me stay mobile and active which is a good thing since I have a very full life as a wife, mother of six, and business owner. I highly recommend Dr. Shimer to anyone who is looking for a good chiropractor or who experiences back and neck issues and wants to avoid the drugs/surgery medical model of care. Let her help you get back to life and wellness like she did for me.
