Id give it less than a star if I could. The life guard will attempt to kick visitors out of the lazy river to cater to longer time attending visitors breaking the rules. The life guard will literally go up to a father and child around 18 months (he was holding) and tell them at open swim they arent allowed in the lazy river. It is tiny, the people breaking the rules will stare at you the entire time until you leave which is what happened to me. Absolutely unreasonable and lacking accountability. They should be re trained.

This is my favorite gym, even though it has serious limitations. I love that it’s only 5 minutes from my home. Friendly attentive staff. Nice meeting rooms, basketball court, walking track. I love the current and lap pools, but I don’t use the wading pools. Good collection of weights, but in a confined area. Several cardio machines in the form of treadmills and ellipticals, but not a lot of variety. Fair selection of resistance machines, but very little duplication. Hours are pretty restrictive. This was not our first choice - we were going somewhere else for the past few years, until they shut down because of the pandemic. But it’s a very nice homey kind of gym, and it’s a real pleasure having it nearby.Don’t go there if you’re worried about COVID-19. They don’t require masks for vaccinated people, which seems pretty cool, except for the ones lying and misbehaving. This is not completely the gym’s fault, but some teenage guys were there, not wearing masks, when hanging out with each other at the weight station, and clearly not vaccinated, because they were supposedly wearing masks, but pulled down away from their noses, when they were out among other people.

It has a good size and fun indoor river pool that really kicks your butt in a workout if you swim against the current or with it. And the kids love it and swim in it for hours. There is also a fun section for the little little ones with a tiny slide and water play area. Even though there isnt a big water slide like the Lone Tree indoor pool. I rather go here any chance I can

This is a great community rec centre. I have been working out, swimming, taking classes, volunteering etc here for 14 years since it opened. It has been kept up to date and does a great job as a community rec centre rather than as a commercial gym. At peak times parking can be an issue but this is rare and typically at the top of the hour when the next class is arriving but the previous one has not finished.

We just left there after having a terrible 15 minute experience. We went in to take our young children swimming. They are avid swimmers (have been swimming independently for over a year and a half, swim in the ocean, snorkeled in the ocean in Hawaii). The water was freezing, the kids are not allowed in any of the warm pools or the hot tubs. The my require you to have kids in flotation devices or constantly be held by an adult if they are 5 or under. So, essentially you have to be in the pool with your kids at all times. If they want to go on their own, the only place they can go is a shallow pool with one baby slide. None of the water features work, so there is nothing for them to do except for the lazy river and you have to be in it with them.Beyond that, the staff was quite rude (when you could get them to look up from the book they were reading) and acted like we were crazy when we asked for our money back. The icing on the cake was when a man walked into the women’s locker room to get paper towels. All in all this place is awful. Wouldn’t waste my time or money going there as a family. Maybe as an adult this place is a decent venue for working out, but it is certainly not a great place for kids – especially when there are so many good rec centers around the city. As for us, we are now driving to the Golden Rec Center where our kids can have fun and play independently.

The whole building is fun and eye catching. My family went for a fun get together with friends and are planning a return trip for the pool. We didnt get a chance to go swimming but the pool area looked like so much fun. Walking in, it felt more like a high class hotel then a Rec. Center.

One of the best zero-entry public pools in the Littleton / Denver area. Good for the little kiddos (infant on up). Current loop is fun. Also swim lanes and hot tub and therapy pool for adults. Not too loud like some indoor pools. Locker rooms clean and decent. Plenty of parking.

Weve been going to Buck for years primarily to use their pool with our there boys. But today will likely be the last time for a long while. Its a really nice facility but their pool rules are becoming more and more ridiculous for kids. The minimum age to get in their hot tub was recently raised from 6 to 7. Now no one under 7 can get in at any time, even with a parent. The new rule even says not to put your head under water in the hot tub. Seriously? We have to be protected from putting our head under water?? And their adult swim break every hour or two also makes no sense. Why would adults need private use of a kids play area and the lazy river? I suspect some paranoid city attorney is behind these rules. Nonetheless, well be taking our business somewhere else.

If nothing is done about this, I will take action. My sister and I went to swim and work out at Buck and we have never been treated with such disrespect in the many, MANY years I have been doing there. We walk in and we are greeted by a woman with longer grey hair, glasses and a green hoodie, as we are greeted, she has the most horrendous attitude towards us. She tells us we have less than an hour to swim, we say okay and try to hand her our card. She is refusing to take our card by saying “it’s a waste of money, I wouldn’t pay so much for less than an hour” etc. After paying, she is still extremely rude, telling us “you need to leave 5 to 6” my sister and I didn’t understand so we asked when to leave and she told us the same thing. We said okay. After getting out of the pool, we noticed people were still swimming closer to 5:30. So we decided to work out. My sister was in flip flops and I was in short workout shorts cover with a towel. Which yes, we should have been wearing better work out clothing. But the woman came over and touched my sister (who is autistic and does not do well with being touched) and told her she needed better shoes. My sister did not understand. The woman then told me I need better work out clothing, continuing to repeat herself in the most inappropriate tone. We understood the first time as we were preparing to leave. She continued to harass us about what we were wearing AFTER we said okay. After getting into the car, my sister, again who is autistic. When into a full breakdown due to the fact the woman touched her without permission. I have never been so disrespected and treated so badly in my life, nor has my sister. I fully believe it is because we are 17. I am appalled by her actions and want something done about it.

Review №47

Ive been going here ever since I was 9 years old, and if there had been something done about this long ago, there would be 5 stars on this review, but I feel that a 1-star review is the only way to get the attention that needs to be brought to the matter of a very disrespectful, deceitful, and insultingly ignorant front desk lady named Gigi. She consistently displays an attitude that is inexcusably infectious and demeaning, especially toward teenagers, and I, for one, have had enough of it.I was willing to let it go on other visits, but the previous one was the straw that broke the camels back, because despite knowing that our friend was a resident and that we were in a group with her, Gigi refused to give us the rightful discount until our resident friend was directly in front of the counter, which was pointless, because some of us had already paid. (Keep in-mind, she knew our resident friend was with us, but she still didnt give us the discount.) After the fact, she refused to refund those who were forced to pay full price. Then, she had the audacity to say You may be in school, but you still have learning to do, referring to our ill-knowledge of the resident discount policy. I talked to some of the floor staff immediately after this exchange happened, to confirm the regularity of this kind of behavior, and they enlightened me with all kinds of stories about altercations theyve observed between Gigi and other customers, as well as fellow employees. (Thats just their word, but I figured it was worth mentioning.) Even my mom had a run-in with her a few years ago, where she asked about getting a club form and was met with a snide response for virtually no reason.I can understand an employee not wanting to engage too much with customers, but I draw the line at being insulted and disrespected. Its clear through some of these reviews (some of which date back months, even years) that there is not enough being done about this. I dont expect a Google Review to have very much groundbreaking influence, but its clear that Im not alone on this matter. I know first-hand that there are plenty of hard-working, kind, generous people working at Buck, but sadly, their efforts are being muddled by the first person people see when they enter the building: an ill-mannered, disrespectful, impolite employee who has a very low regard for baseline respect of us patrons, let-alone customer service. I want to keep coming here regularly because I enjoy Bucks facilities, activities, and most of its staff, but to get to where I want to go, I have to go through the front desk, and when Im forced to do business with this lady, I feel like Im just supporting her inexcusable behavior.

I only give one star because I have to. The lifeguards are all about 12 years old dont know what theyre doing they all have their own rules. Their supervisor stands by them even though theyre running a muck. Allowing their friends to come in the back way through the gate and also allowing kids in the therapy pool until somebody says something which is not right that therapy pools for us elderly people that really need it. This place has really gone downhill and I wont be back. Its too bad because it was a great pool also the custodial never puts soap in the dispensers in the restrooms especially in the Cabanas. Do you all not expect people to shower before they get in the pool. This place has went downhill in a big hurry. This is a fairly large recreation center, and this is whyPros:Great location. This place is right next to the Littleton courthouse, and is right next to Downtown Littleton. It can also be accessed from Powers Ave, as wellLarge exercising space. This has one of the largest exercise machine rooms that I have seen in any public recreation centers. It also has a basketball gym, running track, and a swimming pool with lap lanes, meaning that there is always something to do hereNumerous daily activities. Here you can find a lot of programs that are happening or will happen in the near future. This can all be found on the South Suburban calendar, or at the recreation center itselfConsNo exterior pool entrance. I find this to be incredibly annoying. The pool is located on the inside of the recreation center past the exercise room, meaning that there is a bit of a maze to get to it. There is also no signs to tell you where the entrance is, meaning that you may get lost if someone doesnt tell you. This isnt too big of a problem for me, but for others who may use the pool frequently it may become an issue over time.SummaryOverall, this is a pretty good recreation center. With its ease of access, large amount of activities, and large variety of ways to exercise, you could do pretty much anything here, all within walking distance from Downtown and the Light Rail station. This is fantastic for those who go on daily commutes and need to quickly exercise before work starts

Cassey why are you putting your children in a hot tub?????? Clearly you have no clue that the heat from a hot tub can injure young children. The average temp of a hot tub is 104 degrees much to hot for a child. Also, a child is smaller and can more easily drown in a hot tub. If you dont believe me ask your pediatrician.

Da

I think the facilities are awesome. There is a balance of activities for old and young. The basketball courts seem to accomodate all ages and groups and the staff is always curteous. My experience with the life guards is that they are constantly circling the pools keeping a watchful eye on misbehaviour and alert to anyone having problems. They enforce the rules of a five minute rest period for those under 18. They do not allow young children in the hot pool. The depth is clearly marked 5 feet at one end. No diving is allowed regardless. Three kids were immediately asked to leave when they jumped in. The jacuzzi feature of the hot pool is excellent and provides those with lower back pain much relief. The temperatures are just right both the hot temp and the low temp for the lazy river section. The private lockable changing rooms are a great improvement over the more public areas of the past. Great facility and responsive staff.
