Shame on you for denying somebody who legitimately needs help and not allowing them to receive it. your staff is rude and talks about patients among themselves after they leave the counter. I truly wonder how many lives could have been saved if you actually helped people like youre supposed to. hope you people at lfs can sleep at night thinking about that.

I had an awful experience with a specific counselor as well as her supervisor. I was referred to them to do a drug evaluation as apart of a failed test on probation. After doing my evaluation I was ordered to do IOP (an intensive treatment program) however I have no record and zero priors and failed an alcohol test. When I questioned this recommendation To the supervisor, I was told I had to ask the counselor who did my evaluation. So I emailed her and she called to set up my IOP, and questioned if I wanted day classes or night classes (even though I told her during my evaluation that I was a full time student and parent). She then proceeded to tell me that I will probably have to find somewhere else then. I said okay, and then proceeded to ask why she recommended that I be on an intensive treatment program when I have 0 priors for substance abuse or anything at all really. To which she again said that I’d have to find somewhere else. I again asked why she recommended that level of treatment and she stated “well any other answer I give you you will just continue arguing with”.....after not even answering my question. I stated I wasn’t arguing and I was asking why she put me in the most intense program and she stated “well you continuously drink while on probation” to which I paused and said no I don’t continuously drink, I drank one time in an almost 6 month period, and I’ve had the conversation with my Probation officer about that. so again I’m asking why this intense treatment? To which she literally says “well I’ve got to get going” at that point I asked if she was kidding and she said no that I’d have to find somewhere else. I hung up the phone at that point and am seeking a separate evaluation from a separate facility. This woman was so unprofessional it’s not even funny. As someone who is supposed to be there to assist people with real life addictions and mental health issues, you would think she would answer the questions when presented but she did not. A woman I had a one hour zoom evaluation with was about to determine how I spent the next few months of a probation extension and she wouldn’t even answer WHY. People like this ruin it for good counselors and they make it hard for people to even WANT to seek help or accept that they may have an issue. So Christina Thomas and Supervisor Jessie, thank you so much for swaying me in a different direction where I may actually be successful because it definitely wasn’t going to be with either of you unprofessional women. I also requested that I get a copy of this evaluation 6 days ago (3 of which are business days) and still have yet to receive it even though I signed all necessary releases. Do better. You are doing more harm than good.

Katie Meineger is the worst. She forged adoption papers to go through and my entire file is completely missing. Hope the money was worth it! I have tried for a very long time to get a copy of anything signed through the proper channels with no luck so I am posting on here so others can beware that this office will forge documents to have open adoptions go through to families that cant pass home studies, are alcoholics, and lose their daycare licenses. I hope the money was worth it because i will never stop until the wrongs are fixed . Shame on you.

Very heart broken over the experience my daughter had here. For someone who is trying to get their life back on track for herself and her children I didnt expect the outcome working with LFS. Had her all set up for IOP and turned into court and then out of the blue, no warning, just informed us that they would not provide services for her. Such a blow for someone in recovery.

Horrible. Medication management is a joke. Takes over a month to get another appointment. When medication doesnt work you just have to hold out and wait until you can get seen again. They may have good intentions but their actions arent very great

You cant schedule and appointment initially you have to walk in. Except when the walk in hours start theyre full because you need to be there at least an hour before or theyre full? I work full time over nights and I take my nephew to and from school. I cant get there at 8 to maybe if Im lucky see someone after 9 or he doesnt go to school. Cant go there at noon to maybe be seen by someone after 1 because that means I get to go over a whole day no sleep. Thats like the doctor saying I know your leg is broken but youre gonna have to come in it midnight and we might squeeze you in if we have room. Good thing Im not like... mentally ill and seeking help or anything. This isnt a huge let down or set back at all.

Each and every time I have come to Lutheran Family Services, I am in awe of the kindness and understanding that the staff displays to their patients. Id also like to compliment Genoa Pharmacy, their resident pharmacists. I havent had a negative experience in 1.5 years of patronizing this facility. Thanks, Lutheran Family Services. You are (very literally) a life-saver.
