Don’t waste your time here. New leadership is horrible. My dad was here before and it was much better. The second time around has not been a positive experience. Their attention to the patient is minimal at best. They continue to use Covid as their excuse as to why things are bad. My dad was supposed to be here short term and it has now turned to long term because of their poor staff.

My family and I are so very grateful for the incredible care and service our uncle has received during his recent stay at Manor Care. Staff are caring, informative, and prompt as this was the first time we had a loved one at a nursing facility. All the staff went above and beyond to provide him with excellent care! I had only had one concern which was addressed by management immediately and since then I get weekly calls providing me with updates related to my uncles care. Communication has been great and the compassionate care visits and now outdoor visits are so helpful for his emotional well being. Thank you for all your hard work, Manor Care staff.

My mother went to this place and the first night they put her in a diaper instead of assisting her to the bathroom. 3 days later, she still has a soiled bed blanket. She cant get clean towels and washcloths to shower. No one comes to pick up her used towels. She has to wait over an hour to get medication. she is stuck in her room because of covid protocols, yet they let other people into the facility to visit their family members.

My Mom was here in November and December of 2020. Of course the facility was locked down due to Covid. I asked for a weekly update and finally got 1 after leaving numerous messages. The nursing staff and social worker could not answer specific questions very well. I did however receive weekly calls from a corporate office telling me how many new cases Covid were there. It was always the person never came in contact with my Mom. One day the social worker called out of the blue and said my Mom was not progressing and she needed to go home. I had to scramble because she was bed ridden due to their lack of rehab. They ended up sending her home with Covid, sepsis and a stage 4 bedsore. They never mentioned any of this to us. Now 10 months later we are still trying to get the bedsore healed.Do not send a loved one here.

Thank you ManorCare Libertyville for providing excellent care to my family. Keep up the great work!

I am so grateful of the assistance the staff provided to my aunt until her passing. It was not always perfect but their caring, good intentions and passion in all they did was palpable. We had visited other nursing homes before but what struck us the most was the male main manager in the front office. He will always stop doing whatever he was doing just to address our concerns and provided emotional support during such difficult time. Staff was very compassionate, food and activities were good. I get some people expect everything to be perfect but the work you do is very admirable. Our family will always be grateful for making my aunts journey a bearable and dignified experience. Thank you.

The food at this place is horrendous. Every morning for breakfast it’s the same thing, toast and eggs. Mystery meat for lunch and dinner. If I ever see an egg again it will be to soon. Not sure what you have to do just to get cold cereal and milk but I’d rather have that everyday then eggs. Unfortunately I’m here for physical therapy so not like I can run down the street to the grocery storeThe physical therapy are good and do help.a lot. But the nutrition to help build your body back up leaves much to be desired. The one thing I can Say it is good if you need to loose weight

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My mother has been in this facility for 3.5 weeks and we have not received one update from a social worker or doctor. We’ve left several messages for supervisors with no response. One day the social worker, Marliese, provided a two sentence update saying our mother didn’t want to move to FL. Other than that we have no idea how her progress is going. After now reading reviews it seems this is a terrible facility. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Don’t send your loved ones here!! Worthless people who work there that can’t provide an update after 3.5 weeks. Totally ridiculous!!

It’s hard to really appreciate the quality of care you are receiving at the time you are receiving it. It’s only later, when you can think back and realize it was loving care, sincerely offered. That’s what makes it is so meaningful to us, and we are grateful. I know I was rather stringent demanding (that is, scared stiff), but they understood where I was coming from. We will never forget the nurses, councilors, therapists, doctors, social workers – servants all – that treated us like family and made our journey a little less difficult. Dianne, my partner of fifty-seven years, received this care over three weeks. We lived in the Libertyville area all our lives, and we heard good things about ManorCare, but they exceeded our expectations. It doesn’t feel saying “thank you” is powerful enough, but thank you.

Horrificly understaffed and almost just killed my grandma, simply because they do not care and do not do their jobs. She recently had hip surgery and went to Manor Care for rehab. She waited hours to be changed after soiling herself, on numerous occasions. We requested a soft diet over and over again which she never received. She ended up losing over 20 pounds in their care over the course of 5 weeks. She finally was hospitalized with pneumonia, blood clots, a bacterial infection, severe dehydration and malnutrition, as well as a slew of other things. They also never helped her with personal care. We now have her in a much better facility. I wish we had done it sooner and severely regret it. DO NOT SEND YOUR ELDERLY LOVED ONES HERE. This place needs to be shut down. It is bottom of the barrel. My dad was in this facility for over three weeks. We experienced many lows/highs while he was there. We were very unhappy with the overall organizational operation of this facility. Everyone promised to do everything to make his stay productive, but fell short of their promises...from the social worker (Tony and Alicia) to the administrator (Edgar). We had many concerns about his care. Promises were made but not carried out. No communication between the staff seemed to exist. My dad loved the food and the place was very clean; however, the hygiene of the patients is not a priority. Our family would often arrive, and poor dad would smell very badly. He was only permitted two showers a week, and often they would postpone those until we insisted he receive one. Most of the staff on the second floor would not acknowledge our presence and would be talking among themselves with the exception of Andrea (outstanding) and Unka plus 4 other female/male aides. Response times to call lights for bathroom breaks were very long...in fact the gentleman in Bed #1 ended up soiling himself because no one responded. When my dad was ready to be released, we were not given any notice. My dad called and said they were releasing him around 8:00 p.m., and would someone please come and get him. Not one call from the facility, but I did call to verify. He was not released with any Care Plan or medication. We also had trouble with the Salon. We paid $35 for a haircut, shave, and other grooming issues for Dad which he never received. The Salon would say they did it, but never did. We have still not received a refund of our money which they insisted be in cash. Our complaints to Edgar, Alicia, and Tony never seem to be addressed. Weekly progress reports were never given to us by the Therapy Manager, Dan, unless we specifically asked, and even then would be vague with no details. Unless you plan on visiting your loved one regularly and willing to be an advocate on their behalf, you need to be very cautious when choosing this facility. We will mostly likely have to bring Dad back here if he has future difficulties because he is on dialysis and facilities in our area that provide that service are limited, so I am hoping my review will help improve this facilitys shortcomings for his possible future visit and those patients that are there right now. Those that are overseeing the Manor Care need to take a closer look at the staff that is running it.

Rehab staff are pretty good, most really care about helping the patient get back on their feet, and home again. The nursing staff are relatively good at handing out medicine and that sort of thing. The assistants are terrible, most try to get away with doing as little as possible. There are a few that try to put in that extra effort to make your stay comfortable, but most dont. I think the big problem is that there not enough of them. Plus they dont have quality supervision. I was asking about my mothers bath schedule, and they had to look it up in a book. Why isnt patient care on a computer and tracked? Each patient should given a schedule of what to expect each day, i.e. therapy time, breakfast time, activity time, lunch time. And most of the time food is cold by the time a patient gets it. If you want good care, you need a relative to be your advocate.

What an unpleasant place. My stepdad was brought to ManorCare for rehab on a full Hip replacement surgery. My stepdad expressed concern from his very first day. When he arrived they said they were not ready for him. However they did try to work as promptly as possible. But if they were notified earlier that he was going to be coming why no show that he was going to have a room or a bed. The nurse who assisted him was very carlees to assist him get into the bed. She grabbed him from his leg and just carried/picked up his legs and placed on bed. Maybe she was having a bad day. But still uncalled for to not care for patients. His food was also not appetizing the food nutritionist gave horrible advice to a borderline diabetic. The nutritionist said he could have all food on their menu. But if you look at their menu it was one of the worst food choices for anyone. We decided to just bring our own healthy food from home or go across the street to Mariano’s Grocery.Inexperienced staff. Want to hear about the aid that did not know how to help with bathing?Very friendly and nice, but man walks in with 3 hand towels, goes to the bathroom and wets them, walks out and just started rubbing wet rags on him. Luckily my mom is there who is a professional care aid for over 10 years is telling him “that’s not how you do it”My mom shows him how to use the proper towels and showed him. Then as my mom went to get rid of the used water and get fresh water he grabbed towels to dry. (Remember the Open wound )He comes and starts drying my stepdad. The towel touches the floor and my stepdad brings it to his attention that hey that’s a dirty floor. The aid say oh and flips the towel over. Guess that the way you change your underwear to get a clean side. :0?Unfortunately this is not a place to bring family if you care for them. I’m trying to convince my stepdad to let’s get out of here but he thinks we are half way though and we are out in 2 days. So I hope his doctors does not tell him he need more time here.Hallways smell like urine!Beeping alarm in the hallway that I asked a nurse what’s that beeping all she said was oh we don’t even hear it anymore. There is so many more complaints I just chose just a couple.Oh and and ManorCare reference to your 3 currant 5 star reviews. Where to begin with this hole in the wall rehab center! If I could give this place negative stars I would! The only thing good about this place is that it seems to have a decent physical therapy regimen! Everything else here is an absolute joke I understand this place isn’t a hospital! That being said I find this place very unfit for anyone! The food portions are a joke along with the look smell and even taste of the prison slop they decide to give to there residents! To the point it’s so un eatable that I wouldn’t even feed the food to a dying deer on the side of the road! A nursing staff that is way to far undermanned and slow at that! Should never take an hour to an hour and a half and to keep being reminded about getting medications or water! That being said my mother ended up back at the er because she was dehydrated because the lack of water she was reciving! Along with having to compromise to make up a medication for a serious (possible life threatening)condition to be treated! When in fact they were given the medication order over 5 hours in advance to have it ready an still wasn’t! ( luckily they even had enough for that dose to even be given) major lack of communication between staff members! She was also told that she refused showers when never offered to take a shower and was inquiring about being able to shower! Then they show up to give her a shower as an ambulance is on its way to take her to hospital for dehydration! Very unprofessional work ethic and demeanor! Staff memebers complaining about others to there patients and in the hallways in front of patient rooms! I find that very disrespectful, and unprofessional! This is what a 5 star place is? I think not! I’m supposed to have loved ones taken care of bye this place or myself? Nurses saying to patients I know your light has been on I seen it ten minutes ago! What if the person had fallen in the bathroom bleeding out from there head they wouldn’t be around in ten minutes! I honestly believe I could be taken care of bye my four year old better then I could be at this place! I mean that literally! I see more professionalism and communication outta my four year olds class mates then I do this place! Family memebers and friends of family sacrificing time off work to be around an see to it that proper care is taken or bring them water so they have it in the room should t have to be done! Your paying for a service along with your insurance that’s not our job to be doing! Like I have stated I understand this isn’t a hospital nor do I expect the same services but the lack of ergancy here is beyond rediculus!

Im reading these reviews and I find it very odd that a company can go from 1.9 ratings to now a 3.1 rating in under a week.

I am so not impressed with this place at all! My mother-in-law is there now and its not going well. They seem to not care about their patients at all. When my mil was brought there she was dumped in a room, sitting in a chair with a bad back, with no call light, no way to get up, no oxygen which she needs and no one checked on her for FIVE HOURS!!! Care has been sporadic since. We just left there and when we left there were 3 call lights on and no staff anywhere to be seen for a good 5 or so minutes. A nurse finally came up the hallway, asked if we needed help we said we were leaving and she talked to another nurse instead of attending to the rooms. Care has been horrible so far!

Rehab was decent, but I was very unhappy with the medical care my husband received. Really when it comes to recovery? You need BOTH.
