I kept getting increasingly stronger prescriptions, but my vision continued to deteriorate. I accepted the thought that I would lose my ability to drive, by my 50th birthday. For nearly forty years I struggled with vision, through school, work, though I met with several vision specialists. Then I met Dr. Levine. I highly recommend Dr. Levine with Advanced Eye Care. I was diagnosed with keratoconus in 2012 and had collagen cross-linking surgery in 2014. After my diagnosis, my previous eye doctor of 15 plus years fitted me with hybrid contact lenses that were bad for my eyes. The area where the hard center of the contact and soft skirt meet was wearing on my cornea. That eye doctor did not have the knowledge or skills to fit scleral lenses. She tried, but quickly gave up and was going to put me back in the hybrid lenses. To complicate matters I have giant papillary conjunctivitis and pingueculas on both eyes. Each day I had to make the decision whether to see or be in pain. Thankfully I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Levine. He accomplished what my previous eye doctor and three other eye specialists could not. Dr. Levine is very honest, knowledgeable, and patient. He developed a plan to reduce the symptoms I had from wearing the hybrid lenses and patiently worked through the puzzle of finding the right sclera lenses for me. It is a process that is worth doing. It is difficult inserting and removing the lenses at first, but now it is no problem at all. My vision is so much better with these contacts and they are not damaging my eyes like the last ones. Thank you Dr. Levine for suggesting the scleral lenses and taking the time to fit me into the correct ones. It has been a lifechanging experience for me and has greatly improved my quality of my life.

I was diagnosed with keratoconus 10 years ago and I’ve struggled with just using glasses but was not enough especially at night. Last year around October I was surfing the web looking for a place that treated Keratoconus and came across Advanced Eyecare Consultants. The staff and Dr Robert Levine are wonderful and friendly. On my first appointment they were able to identify my problem and discussed scleral lenses. They fitted some lenses and was able to see 2020, I was very happy because I don’t remember the last time that I was able to see this clear. I know been wearing scleral lenses for almost a year now and it’s been great. I will highly recommend to anyone going through the same eye problems to visit Advanced Eyecare Consultants. Totally rude, I called to request an appointment and explained what I was looking for . Once I explained and a questions was prompted the receptionist thought it was funny as if it was professional. Then I asked why she laughed and she proceeded to tell me the statement I made didnt make sense to her question. For someone to give this place five stars is beyond me if I cant even make an appt with a professional. Then I told her this is going to make me choose a totally different doctor. Almost two years ago Dr. Levine fitted me with Scleral contact lenses of which I was a good candidate after my LASIK procedure almost 25 years ago. He is specialized in this product, and he is a good fit as this process takes precision and patience. I am so pleased with the end result (contacts! / dry eye remedy!) and with the service and care provided. Highly recommend - especially for anyone with tricky sight issues, young and old.

I absolutely love Dr. Levine and his staff! I came into his office 3 months after I had my fist cross linking surgery for my kertaconus and he assured me he was the best to get me fitted for my scelara lenses, and he delivered! I feel lucky to have found Dr. Levine. I have worn contact lenses since the late 60’s, starting with those hard contact lenses, then the gas permeable, rarely using my glasses. I never had a problem, ever, until age took its tole and my eyes became dry along with the rest of me. They did not feel that dry, but my vision became blurry like my eyes or the contacts were oily.Dr. Levine explained the various steps we could try to correct the problem, or at least improve my vision. I was up for anything, except the last one which were the scleral lenses. I’m too old for such a big change into those big contacts.Long story short, after several months without much luck, I tried the scleral and I couldn’t be happier. I have not seen this well in years and it only took a few days to learn to put them in and take them out. I now can wear eye makeup again due to nothing getting in between my contacts and eyes and hurting.Dr. Levine is one of those few Dr.’s left that really knows his craft and doesn’t just spend a few minutes and sends you on your way. I highly recommend him if you are having trouble with your eyes.

Dr. Levine has been my Optometrist for many years. Advanced Eyecare Consultants has state-of-the-art technology, knowledgeable and friendly office staff. I am happy to refer Dr. Levine, as he speaks to his patients at their level, always ensuring they understand the importance of the prognosis and instructions. When my employer changed vision insurance coverage, I was forced to find another doctor with very dissatisfied results at three other eye care providers. After another change of insurance, I am back with Dr. Levine and will not leave again.

Best clinic ever! Today is my first day experiencing the world with my new contact lenses and I wanted to take the time to thank you and the Doctor for helping me.I was in a food aisle and I literally stood there for 2 minutes just looking at all the colors.I never knew red was so red. I never knew green was so green.It sounds strange but in a way, I never knew that I was transforming into a man; my body looks so different.For the last 10 plus years, Ive been thinking I still look like my 18 year old self.I even have to re-adjust the way I walk because my depth perception and spacial awareness has been so skewed by my keratoconus.I never knew life had so many colors.thank you!

I have suffered from Keratoconus for nearly 40 years. This disease caused both of my corneas to cone out in an irregular shape. In 1985 I even had an experimental partial cornea transplant in my right eye to repair a significantly coned, torn and scarred cornea. The surgery had limited success with reshaping my cornea but still failed to provide the expected vision improvement I was hoping for. My past Eye Specialists always seem to struggle to find a suitable fit with standard size Rigid Gas Permeable lenses. Without an ideal lens fit, the RGP lenses only provided marginal vision improvement and became rather uncomfortable during long wear use. Additionally, these lenses always seemed prone to becoming dislodged and lost. Recently I was looking for some replacement contacts and maybe some new ideas for treating Keratoconus … Thankfully I found Dr. Levine’s website that listed he specializes in fitting contact lenses for Keratoconus.With my first meeting with Dr. Levine, he confidently assured me that my corrected vision could significantly improve with much more comfort using a new type of contact lenses. Dr. Levine then introduced me to a relatively new corrective lens concept, the Scleral contact lens.My first impression of these oversized lenses was one of doubt and skepticism. I wasn’t so sure I could master the task of inserting and removing these saline filled dime sized cups. Initially I did struggled with this new insertion method but soon enough found the process actually quite simple. Staff members Kassi and Eric patiently guided me until their expert instructions finally took hold. In no time at all I found these new Scleral lenses to be much easier to insert and remove than my old traditional RGP lenses.Once the Scleral lenses were properly inserted, Kassi and Eric took a series of computer based high tech pictures of my cornea to assess how the Scleral lenses were positioned on the cornea surface. This trial and error process was repeated several times using differently sized lenses until the ideal fit was determined. I am so impressed with the level of detail, precision and all the dedicated efforts surrounding this process. Dr. Levine then utilized this computer data to confirm and validate that the desired fit was present to maximize my lens wear comfortability and provide the best possible vision enhancement.The degree of attention and commitment in finding this best fit and corrective prescription for my new lenses has been overwhelming to say the least. I quickly realized that my longstanding battle with Keratoconus was now being treated by a team of very talented, caring and dedicated individuals using the latest advancements in eye care equipment. After a few more adjustments to the “vaults” of these Scleral lenses, Dr. Levine and his staff have now provided me the most comfortable and best fitting lenses ever! And they actually stay securely in place and never slide around. Finally no more eye irritations! I actually forget that I’m wearing these new Scleral lenses! And the best part is now my corrected vision has never been better!I can’t thank Dr. Levine and his wonderful staff enough for what they’ve done for me. They provided me the corrected vision I long ago accepted as unobtainable. My corrected eyesight is now at 20/20 left eye and 20/30 for my right eye. I never thought this could be possible. I noticed that I always had a halo effect or shadow effect around bright lights that were worse in the dark. I looked up different types of vision and noticed that how I was strongly resembled what keratoconus vision looked like. I came across Dr. Levines website and asked for more information with putting in my contact information. He contacted me soon after, listened to me and encouraged me to come into his office. It turned out that I did not have keratoconus, but corneal dystrophy. However, it was still something that Dr. Levine was able to help me out with greatly! He fit me with the scleral lenses and I realized that I have not seen so perfectly in years! He explained my condition and how the scleral lenses worked. I am so thankful to have come across Dr. Levine and being given the opportunity to see so clearly again, especially at night!

I have had a fantastic experience with Dr. Levin and everyone at his office. They are all very knowledgeable and the customer service is fantastic. I am always in and out and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I have been dealing with Keratoconus since I was 19 (roughly 20 years). I have had a love for baseball my entire life. I now coach my two son’s travel baseball teams. Before meeting Dr. Levin my vision was okay, but couldn’t pick up the spin on the baseball like I used too. Dr. Levin took more time than I ever expected fitting me for a sclera contact lens that had the best possible feet for my left eye. My vision is now 20/20 and can once again see the spin on the baseball. This is just one example of how working with Dr. Levin has improved my quality of life. I actually meet Dr. Levin by typing a question to him about Keratoconus on a website. He responded to my question the same day by calling me. He took the time to answer all of my questions. Calmed me down a ton and this was before I ever stepped foot in his office or paid him a dime. I will go to him as long as he is practicing and would highly recommend him to anyone.

My experience with Dr. Levine as been awesome. I went from not seeing to almost 20/20 vision. I first visited Chicago Cornea and they told me I needed Cornea cross linking procedure which is not covered by insurance and would cost me $6k for the procedure. I would still need to get special contacts after the surgery. So, I wanted a 2nd opinion and found Dr. Levine. On my first phone call when I was letting them know I wanted a 2nd opinion they put me on hold real quick and Dr. Levine got on the phone. I explained to him the situation and explained other procedures that he thought would help. He has walked me through the process like no other eye doctor before. Dr. Levin is on top of it, and I know he has my best well being in mind. I trust him 100%. Once I received the contacts it was like going from analog tv to HD tv. I could actually see. It was amazing. I know I have mentioned Dr. Levine a lot but also I want to say that his staff is great as well. Karlee has been taking me through the process as well. She taught me how to put my lenses in, and take them out. She has been very patient wit me through the whole process. Very helpful, and very nice. So, yes I will recommend Dr. Levine to anyone. I actually sent an e-mail out at work with his info. Great to find a Dr. and staff that cares about all the patients. Please call them!
