It was generally a good experience. Easy to make an appointment and I was seen within just a few minutes of my appointment time. The only delay was waiting for radiology to review my x-rays, revealing a broken fibula.Out of an abundance of caution, the Urgent Care discharge instructions indicated I needed to stay non-weight-bearing on the injured leg. However I was able to make a subsequent appointment with my orthopedic surgeon the following day. His diagnosis was that there was no weight-bearing risk from the injury.The ability to easily coordinate between the Urgent Care center, and my orthopedic surgeon on staff at KCOI was a big plus.

My entire experience at KCOI was nothing but excellent and professional. The staff was truly understanding of the extreme pain that I arrived in. I felt heard and cared for when I really needed HELP. The practitioner that I saw (Lorraine Davis) was extremely thorough and professional, and she was able to find a diagnosis immediately when no one else could give me answers at any other clinic that I had been to in the past few weeks. She also gave me working suggestions for pain management. All of the nurses were helpful and communicative, and Tammy specifically went out of her way to expedite the process of me getting imaging and a follow up visit scheduled so I can get on the path to surgery. I have no complaints, only appreciation to the entire staff. Thank you for helping me when I truly needed it most.

I didnt realize this Urgent Care was an Orthopedic Urgent care attached to the Doctors office. I was very pleased with how easy it was to get in and how efficiently everything went. I was there a couple of hours but felt well cared for. I was contacted the next day with lab results as promised. Very good facility!

Service and care were outstanding, only downside is that i did have a 3:00 appointment and was not seen until almost 5:00 so a 2 hour wait when i was not a walk in is my only complaint -

After making the first available appointment time, I arrived one half hour early. Still waited at least another half hour before being seen. To make an appointment and get there 1 half hour early and then wait another half hour is a little long.After seeing the PA and given the prescription for medication, maybe a little better explanation of just what the medication was for and what to expect from it.The next day an MRI was taken. I received a call the day after explaining what the MRI had shown. A lot to take in over the phone. I don’t know if a written diagnosis will be mailed to me, but I do believe that would be appropriate.Thank you.

A pleasant staff member checked my temperature upon arrival. A helpful staff member helped me check in and fill out the necessary paperwork; she and her co-worker (who scheduled my appointment) were professional and cheerful. The PA who examined my injured foot was thorough, professional, kind, and explained what the X-ray images revealed in addition to discussing what needed to be done. The X-ray technician was patient and professional. I’m grateful for the care I received and those who helped me should be recognized and rewarded, particularly the PA!

The care I received at Ortho Urgent Care was outstanding. Everyone on the team that cared for me was kind understanding knowledgeable sympathetic. I came in feeling broken and discouraged and left feeling better and hopeful.

I was treated cordially and well. Very thorough exam and follow up after X-ray done.I appreciate so very much the urgent care. Sometimes it can take awhile to get an appointment with a Physician so this urgent care opportunity meets an immediate need .

I just want to mention that on the webpage it says that you take walk-ins and when you get there you were told you needed an appointment. I did get in anyway but it would be nice to have consistent messaging. Your staff is very nice.

The Front Staff were very kind and helpful to me when they saw how much pain I was in. They made sure I was comfortable while I waited. The nurses were also friendly and thorough and the physician assistant was able to take care of my issue and get the right treatment for me

I was seen in a timely manner by a highly professional staff. The nurse practitioner was very helpful and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and helped navigate the next phase of my treatment.

I came in to have an X-ray of my possible broken ankle. When I arrived at the front desk I was greeted by a very rude and cold receptionist. Her tone when speaking to me was condescending and not appreciated. My mom came to the clinic to bring me crutches to help with the pain. While I understand limiting the number of people in a medical office, the manner of the receptionist was less than acceptable. My mom was scolded for being present with me and was aggressively told to exit the building. The whole situation was embarrassing as I waited almost 2 hours for the X-ray. The PA’s and technicians I saw were fabulous but very disappointed in the care from the front desk.

The staff are fantastic, professional, and knowledgeable. They were compassionate to not only my needs but those of others that I saw in the waiting areas. The online appointment sign up was very smooth and helpful since my wrist was injured and I wouldn’t have been able to fill out the paperwork by hand.

Last week I gave a low rating to the institute. Since that time, the institute did follow-up on issues that I raised. The issue of the MRI and getting my questions answered by the surgeon were followed up upon to my satisfaction. I commend the Institute on their professionalism. Everyone was extremely welcoming and patient. The spot reservation system online is super convenient and user friendly. I was only in the lobby about 30 min. I was seen and sent home with a recovery plan that I understood and felt comfortable with all in about an hour and a half. I’ll definitely be back for any Otho needs in the future (hopefully not too soon lol)!

Severely hurt myself at 5:30 am. Showed up at the urgent care at 7:30 to find out there was a wait list until 10:30. But the receptionist wee exceptionally helpful getting me a wheel chair and getting me back by 8:30. I am very appreciative of these two ladies.

When I was taken back to my room I was picked up by Radiology right away. I got back to my exam room and the doctor came in to talk to me within 10 minutes. We made a plan and I was out of there within 15 after that. Good, knowledgeable, helpful staff.

Online check in was easy. Wait times were sufficient. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend checking copay amount due prior to your visit to avoid giving up a large amount of money.

Great place. Was able to reserve time online and was seen within 10 minutes of arrival. Saw a nurse and doc and then had X-ray and radiology read within 1 1/2 hours. Very clean. Just wish they could cast there as well and save another trip. But would highly recommend.

I posted on Facebook where I was having the surgery, and at least four people responded that its an excellent facility and that theyve been patients of the 3 surgeons who were my options. I felt so confident coming in and my expectations were exceeded. Thank you to everyone, from intake to recovery! Loved the sweet banter between brother and sister, anesthesiologist and RN. Excellent staff and medical personnel. Only issue was wIth wait time, but it was a Tuesday after the Memorial Day Weekend and the urgent care was vey busy.

Our wait went much quicker than expected. Once in, we received prompt and efficient care. X-rays were quick. It was evident in our first moments there, that the Doctors and staff really care about their patients.

Highly recommend KCOI urgent care! I was able to make an appointment at a convenient time, get seen within a few minutes upon arrival, staff was friendly and welcoming and professional, and they were following all of the COVID protocols well to where I felt safe. Definitely recommend going here rather than to an ER because I knew what my injury was, how to treat it, and got the necessary splint within an hour or less!!!

Everyone, from the nurse taking temps at the front door to the NP who reviewed my x-rays, was cheerful and seemed glad I came. None of them seemed to be doing their job, instead seemed glad I came in. Thats very refreshing!

I woke up one morning and my knee was swollen, red and warm to the touch. I tried to rest and stay off of it but it was the same the next day. I went to KCOI Urgent Care and hoped for the best. I was a walk in. You can register online which is probably the best option.I walked in and thought I was going to have to wait an hour or more, but the staff there got me right to a room very quickly. X-ray soon after. I went over my X-ray with PA and she diagnosed the problem. Very congenial and professional. I have a follow up in 5 days. Hopefully my bursitis will heal quickly!

Came here after having an accident and going to a regular after hours clinic and being told I was fine. After getting X-rays and the radiologist seeing something he didn’t like I was suggested to get an MRI and referred to a physician at KCOI. When something was seen on my MRI and the radiologist reviewed it over the weekend the urgent care called me to have me come in over the weekend to get me in a temp cast, despite having my follow up appointment on Monday. Great service and everyone had great customer service

I am dissatisfied with service. I went to emergency for ankle pain and i was not able to walk. in my visit, I was not able to see doctor. Nurse only can diagnose me. In addition, they are giving Breg shoes... Breg shoe company is charging 712 dollars bill. I was not even comfortably walk by wearing this Breg shoes.. but they suggested this. I bought another type of shoes from amazon in just 50 dollars.

I woke up that morning in serious pain, and no recent injury to explain it. KCOI had me checked in, x-rayed, diagnosed, and on my way home in under two hours with no appointment. I’m less than a week out from my treatment there and my shoulder is nearly back to normal. I would recommend their urgent care services to anyone!

Minimal waiting time, very thorough physical examination of my knee, followed by x-rays. Results of x-rays were fully explained to me and the options for care equally as thoroughly explained. I was very impressed with the facilities that cleanliness the attention to covid related safety measures and the friendliness of the staff.

All of the people that worked in X-ray dida great job. The person who did myinitial exam was very precise and decidedthat my hip required several X -rays.Finally the person who interpretedthe X-rays determined what my therapyshould be to correct the problem wasvery knowledgeable!Good result all around!

KCOI is a well-oiled machine that somehow has a very personal touch as well. We moved right through with great efficiency, while also being given the individual treatment we needed without feeling like a number.

All went well. The staff were friendly and explained what was going to happen. I really appreciated there being a wheel chair, and I thought being wheeeled out to my car was very considerate and appreciated a lot. The only criticism I have is that my discharge paperwork referred to my right knee. I was there because I couldnt walk on my left knee. I called and was told the paperwork would be corrected in my record; I asked a copy be mailed to me. This error concerned me because I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Gardner at Dixon& Dively in January, and I want him to know which knee is the problem.

I decided to drive 25 min to this clinic because I was having severe shoulder and arm pain, 26 weeks pregnant and had not been able to sleep for 2 nights. The PA I saw, did not seem sympathetic at all. She asked me, “well, so what are you here for?” after she had made my diagnosis? I explained to her that I had scheduled a PT appointment later that day and was simply asking for some pain relief to be able to sleep a couple of hours before my PT appointment. “You tell me what I should give to you”, she said as if I was my own provider. I am not a specialist in this field so obviously I didnt know if there was a local injection possible. She decided it wasn’t necessary. Rather than contacting my obgyn, she advised I contact my obgyn and see what meds she wanted them to prescribe to me. I told her, my obgyn has an md degree and wouldnt need them to proscribe the meds for me, if I were to call her. I left there after having paid $200, and feeling worse than I did before. I had a PT app later that day who gave me several exercises to do at home. Also had a televisit with a rehab physician. He and my obgyn came up with a plan to reduce inflammation in my shoulder and the pain as well. I am feeling much better now but not because of this place. Dont waste your time and money here.

I have had two poor experiences with KCOI urgent care. Most recently, I arrived at the office and they took my temperature twice in the lobby: 97.7 and 98.5. Then, I proceeded to wear my mask for approximately 50 minutes while I wait to be called back for my knee issue. I am the type of person that gets hot in masks, but I respect the need and I respect others, so I wear one, no questions asked. Once in the exam room, I continue wearing my mask for another 15 minutes or so. The nurse came in to take my vitals, and my temperature at that time showed 100.1. Upon seeing that number, I produced the results of two covid tests Id recently gotten back within the last 24 hours (one standard and one rapid), both showing negative for covid. Even with this evidence and my co-pay already collected, they refused to treat me. I was instructed to go to another urgent care or the ER (both places would ultimately send me back to an orthopedic doctor for my injury...and I thought we were supposed to be keeping hospitals clear for the very sick.) The nurse asked me to wait again while she called an administrator, which took another 45 minutes. When she arrived in the room, she began to explain their hospital policy to me as if I were uneducated. My two negative covid tests made no difference; they simply said I was contagious, but when asked contagious of what, they could not provide an answer. I left with my painful knee untreated.Last summer (Aug 2019), my daughter fractured her elbow. It was minor, but she needed treatment. They refused to see her too, saying she was too young for their clinic (shes 7.) At that time, there was no mention of an age limitation on their website or in their advertising. We ended up at Childrens Mercy and received excellent care... should have gone there in the first place.Ive received great care from two KCOI physicians in the past, and its very unfortunate to see that this is how they treat their patients nowadays.

The person at the desk where you enter was very nice. I walk with a cane & she offered to bring the clipboard over so I could sit. At the end of the visit I needed to make an appt for an MRI. Since I am currently living out of the area she made the appt for a few days later when I’ll be back in town.I believe it was a PA who saw me in the room & ordered the xrays. She asked if I needed pain meds. After sleeping less than 3 hours each of the precious 2 nights that sounded wonderful. When I was at a local hospitals ER the orthopedic doctor who saw me for what turned out to be a cracked ankle bone did not see the break on the X-ray. X-ray was taken with me lying down instead of weight bearing. The doctor refused to give me pain meds treating me like a drug addict. Told me to take Advil. I’m on blood thinners. Not a good idea.I am so glad that KCOI has opened this walk in clinic. I know my concerns will be taken seriously.

I received more care from the Urgent Care than I had my previous three visits from the other Ortho surgeon I was working with. Dr. Lown was a rockstar and very thorough! I went in on a very good day as she is an expert with the type of injury I had. I would highly recommend this place!

I came in with an injured foot and was efficiently checked in, and did not wait long to get an x-ray and be seen by a Nurse Practitioner. Everyone did a great job and made me feel that I was getting quality attention. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks.

Stepped on a nail and headed to the Ortho Urgent Care after a visit to my own doc’s office at their recommendation! Amy at Ortho Urgent Care was great and took care of my foot. Pain was handled because of her intervention. Thank you OUC!

We were told upon my arrival that the wait time would be 2 hours. They were very accommodating and allowed us to leave after putting our name on the list to be seen. We we returned 2 hours later I was next in line to be seen. Three hours later... I was finally called back and the the PA finally came in to offer care. IT WAS OVER A 5 HOUR TRIP TO AN URGENT CARE! Yikes. Make sure you have a lot of time if you are going to step into this facility.

Meredith Bell was AWESOME! I had been to a couple of other Urgent Care Clinics that didn’t do much but give me muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, and charge me. I was NEVER given an X-ray or an MRI, which I felt I needed to find out the root of the problem. I was told by both clinics that it was sciatic nerve but this was more than Sciatic..... Dr. Bell was very kind, thorough, and patient. She listened, did exams, and did X-Rays. I finally got results and now will see a couple of doctors that I needed and some physical therapy. Thank you Ortho Urgent Care and a big THANK YOU to Meredith Bell!!!!

I’ve been to Dr Badwey, but couldn’t get in so went to Urgent Care. It was easy, not a long wait...and I got the same amazing care. Highly recommend.

This is perfect for non ambulance type of injuries. So helpful being a walk in clinic. They were attentive, patient and provide very detailed information regarding the injury and the recommended treatment. I’m very grateful they are an ortho specialty as I felt I could trust the evaluation and recommendation.

They will charge you as an EMERGENCY ROOM visit! Be aware of that. You will be seen by a physician assistant and although their big banner in front of their main door advertising their URGENT CARE (quoting their website: “ for orthopedic injuries that does not require a visit to the emergency room”) you will be billed as if you had been to an ER visit. No previous warning. Typical 10-15 min PA visit with 1 hour in the waiting room.

My daughter was playing in a softball tournament in KC area (we are from Iowa) and had a collision at home plate. She could not walk off the field and everyone was advising me to have her knee looked at.We found the clinic on line when searching ortho walk in clinic. We arrived 15 minutes later. The check in process was simple, the staff was friendly and she was x-rayed, evaluated and treated very quickly.The doctor reassured me she was going to be fine and she could continue to play the rest of the weekend as she could tolerate.We were sent on our way with written instructions that included meds, creams and all the supplies she would need to get back out on the field the next day as she could tolerate.A big THANK YOU to this great staff for taking care of my girl and getting her back out on the field in less than 24 hours!!

Loved my experience at the orthopedic urgent care. I was seen quickly, the facilities were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I hope I don’t have to make a return visit, but would do so without hesitation if necessary!

An ER would have put me in an immobilizer and told me to follow up with an Ortho. Thank goodness the clinic was open. After an hour of wearing the brace they told me to get, I was able to walk normally.

The staff is professional, friendly and interested in my urgent and follow up care. I am getting immediate follow up care (MRI) that would take weeks to get if I went through my doctor’s office. I truly appreciate the thoroughness in the Urgent Care and follow up experiences I’ve had with this facility.

I was thrilled to discover that there is an Urgent Care that specializes in injuries to the back!I already have serious chronic back problems, but right before Christmas, something snapped. I could hardly sit or stand. And right before the holiday, there was no possibility of getting in to see one of my regular doctors. KC OI Urgent Care took me in immediately. The staff was knowledgeable, reassuring and friendly (even though I’m sure THEY probably did not want to be there right before Christmas!) They got me x-rays, went over them, arranged for follow up care, and told me what best to do to relieve my pain in the meantime.It was truly wonderful to get immediate, specialized care for such a serious, specialized problem such as a back trauma.

Twisted my knee the night before, found this online and booked for the next morning- glad I did because when I arrived although they say walk in it was a 2 hr wait if you didn’t book online- online booking strongly recommended. Service was fast - was asked if I’d like to schedule an MRI and am going back for that Fri.

I am very happy with the service - I never have to wait. Love the personality and expertise of my therapist. I would strongly reommend KCOI to any patient who needs physical therapy. Now a quick message to management: This is a tough conversation but here goes - I have gone in for theraphy about 4 times now and on each occasion I have not seen one therapist of color, specifically African Americans. Is it that there are no qualified African American physical therapist, no interns - that cant be? Is it that its in Leawood Kansas - I live here too? Hmmm, time to look at your hiring practices time to diversify the staff - you can do this. Take a picture on a busy day at the facility, any day and you should see my point.

Had some pain in my knee that nothing I tried worked. Was referred by a friend to this urgent care. It closes at 6 but got there at 5 and they had me in within 15 minutes. They took ex rays and went over then with me. They gave me some ideas to work through the pain and did somewhat of a diagnosis and set up a follow up with a doctor. It was smooth and very professional. The only thing I would say is that it has almost been a week and I was told that the follow up office would be calling to set up an appointment and they haven’t .

I am a frequent flyer of kcoi Urgent Care. I am an accident waiting to happen, every time I have been to the Urgent Care I feel they go above and beyond care for me. Also they are very good at getting you set up with a Dr if needed. The staff from the front counter to the doctors and or nurses you see.Thanks to all,Pat Leary

I recently had to been seen for a hand problem. The nurses & staff all worked to get me in and seen in a reasonable amount of time. The Doctor was thorough & unhurried in making sure I understood what was wrong and a course of treatment that would be required. Great location & facility.

Very accommodating...worked with me around an appointment elsewhere and I was able to return after papers were filled in ...had a very short wait upon my return. Glad I decided to use this service 6 minutes from my home. I paid a visit again for another problem and was quickly seen.....x rays taken, problem identified. Solutions given and will follow up with primary doc.

Meredith Bell was the best !!!! She was extremely detailed, and did the most comprehensive examination that I have ever had. She took great care in explaining her findings and her suggestions. It is obvious that she is tops in her field!

Love that I can see a Specialist right away. Great concept. The facility is great and well managed.

I will never return to this urgent care after an experience helping a friend who went in for severe back and leg pain. She is originally from Brazil and every staff member acted like they had never treated a patient who doesn’t speak fluent English. Starting with the rude receptionist Courtney who would not even make eye contact and constantly reminded them of how expensive this clinic is (my friend has plenty of money to pay for her care). The doctor Dr Bell was the only person who actually acted in a caring and professional manner, although she did nothing to treat the pain just ordered an MRI. Then 6 days passed with me calling multiple times and getting bounced around to another doctor, financial office, and several phone attendants claiming the results were not in yet. Meanwhile my friend is in pain the whole week and would have been better off going to the ER. Finally I had to go back to urgent care with her and request a hard copy of her results (Which apparently WERE ready!) so she can seek care somewhere else! I often help non English speakers with medical appointments and this was by far one of the worst experiences—everyone was so unhelpful at every call, question, like we were inconveniencing them!

Got in quickly for an X-ray on a Sunday and spoke to a PA shortly thereafter. Great experience! :)
