This was a great experience for my annual exam. I started my eye exam with Desiree. She was fabulous and made the experience very enjoyable. She was followed by Grace who was very pleasant. And, then I had Dr. Nelson Sabates who is always so professional and informative. I was done with my 3:00 appointment at 3:35. Profesdional. Efficient and Skilled treatment in 35 minutes. Amazing. I had an appointment at 1:45 pm, arrived 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. Sat waiting for an hour PAST my appointment time. Staff never informed me of how far doctor was running behind, finally left and did not see doctor. The staff should have informed patients of this when they arrived, they did not and certainly werent the friendliest. Luckily I have other practices to choose from.

I am very pleased with eye care I have received. I see Dr. Krishna and he is always very professional, courteous and generous with his time. I feel he is truly concerned about taking excellent care of my eyesight.

I wish I would have gotten her name, but the young lady who took my initial eye measurements, etc. was the best person Ive ever had. Ive been going here for years and I really like their service. Dr. Walline is fantastic!

Saw Dr Sniegowski, Eye specialist, to evaluate my eye lid rash. He evaluated checked my eye pressure and discussed his opinion and answered all my questions. Staff was very nice and professional.

My doctor went above and beyond to make my visits comfortable and relaxing. Not only did Dr. Baumfalk set me up with the absolute best contacts I’ve ever had….. she was there to save the day when the front desk felt they couldn’t help me. She must have overheard the conversation and came to make sure I was taken care of. I would highly recommend her. She cares and it shows.

Always feel comfortable with the doctors but have experienced several administrative issues.First of all my experience is you will sit until the staff is ready to process you even if it is 15-45 minutes past your appointment time. There has never been an explanation as to the reason until I ask when finally processed. I had the first appointment on my last visit and I was still processed 15 minutes past the appointment time.I have learned not to schedule any other appointments on the same day.Maybe an office manager would help since all I ever see besides the doctor are very young staff and younger trainees.Someone should consider the patients.

Dr. Poulose is outstanding. He has been seeing me for years and is always attentive and pleasant to visit with.

When arriving at the Sebates Eye Center I found my doctor, Dr. Ramona Baumfalk, had been moved to the second floor and was helped by a very nice nurse as to where I should go. Was greeted upstairs by another nice receptionist. The nurse for Dr. Baumfalk was great and Dr. Baumfalk was great. I think people are very nervous when coming for any medical truth time and it helps so much when you deal with nice and helpful people in this unwanted journey

I received a thorough explanation and extensive testing regarding the procedure I am considering.I have never been more satisfied with an outcome.My vision is great. Dr. Caswell is masterful. I had nothing but positive experiences and care.

I was very impressed with the professionalism of every associate of the medial staff. It is a venue I will always visit and receive the care I am in need of when needing special eye care. I am a diabetic and they are very thorough in making sure everything is in order.

I like the staff here really well and I really like my ophthalmologist here. I just wish they could be more prompt on seeing people. Ive had to wait there over 2 hours more than once thats too long for an eye appointment

Extremely detail oriented. I have loved this place since Dr. Sabates opened his first clinic years ago.

I was referred to Sabates Eye Center when my doctor recognized cancer on my lower eyelid. Dr Sniegowski , with Sabates, surgically removed the cancer and reconstructed the eyelid. I cannot tell you how afraid I was as to how my eye would look. Well, I am amazed at the wonderful work the Doctor did! I am still in the healing process and you can barely tell that two thirds of my eyelid had had malignant cancer removed. Dr. Sniegowski, his staff and everyone at Sabates in Overland Park are awesome. I would highly recommend them!

To be fair I utilize two branches of SABATES. I love the Doctor and Staff at the Leawood, KS offices. In addition for those needing further care they also have a surgical center where I had excellent care. Then when I require new glasses I go to the center closer to home so should I ever need adjustments to my glasses its close. Superior care and attention with personal interaction builds and level of care Ive never found elsewhere. Interaction with a TEAM is what SABATES provides to my family, I cant see going anywhere else.

Due to my unfortunate, life changing vision problem of suddenly developing diplopia (double vision) and ectasia in both eyes, 10 days after having bilateral ptosis repair surgery, which was recommended by the eye care specialist I initially went to (not at Sabates) that was supposed to help my poor peripheral vision, which it did not help whatsoever, I sought help elsewhere and went to Sabates Eye Care Centers. After several appointments with different specialists over the past 5 months at Sabates I am now having to wear scleral contact lenses. My vision, while wearing these scleral lenses has been dramatically improved. All the Drs I saw at Sabates were, in my opinion, knowledgeable, great at explaining things to me, and very caring. I would recommend giving Sabates Eye Care Centers a try for your eye care needs.

I have been a patient of Sabates Eye Centers for almost 30 years. I have received routine annual eye exams, followed by lasik surgery, followed by laser surgeries and 5 years of anti-VEGF therapy for retinal neovascularization. I have always been able to schedule appointments quickly and receive emergency treatment the same day. Sabates Eye Centers is a very professional and well-run practice.

From the receptionist to the person who checked me out, my visit was great. There was little to no wait time before the tech came for me. Once in the exam room information was gathered and tests performed efficiently. Dr. Lyon was personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Sabates Eye Centers, Leawood office.

Accepts most insurance .I had to move three times to three different rooms to complete the exam, a bit quick to input my medical history. I noticed an error in my history upon leaving. I felt the error was minor and I was ready to leave so let the error go.Dr. Baumfalk did a very thorough exam and is very understanding.

All of the staff, from the front desk to the MA assisting the doctor, to the doctor himself, are all very friendly and make your experience there as pleasant as can be. I cannot recommend Sabates enough.

Dr Rohit Krishna probably saved me from losing my rye sight in one eye. He proactively gave me lazar treatment before other eye Dr. ignored my eye pressure was elevated .My mom had glaucoma long before Lazard were around for glaucoma and she had significant diminished loss of sight.Dr. Krishna takes his work very seriously and is so happy to see my eye pressure already diminishing 10 days after the surgery that took a few seconds!

Love the new office and Dr. Baumfalk is always excellent and fun to talk with. Highly recommended!

My experience at the Leawood facility has found everyone welcoming and helpful and on a recent urgent visit, Dr.Desai efficiently diagnosed my situation and medication began the same day. Grateful to receive such careful attention and I will continue my annual eye exams as I have these past 10+ years.

So many things went wrong with my experience at Sabates. I am very disappointed since they are highly recommended. First, I was told that I could not have anyone come in with me for my appointment due to Covid, but I saw plenty of other people their with other family/friends even though they were not caregivers. I was told that I would be screened for Covid symptoms & have my temp checked, but no one asked me any Covid health questions or took my temperature. The tech told me that the office had high school students checking for Covid symptoms & checking temps but they had to go back to school so no one was doing Covid screenings. I was expecting the Ophthalmologist to multiple tests to determine a specific problem with my eyes, but there were multiple very young technicians that performed the tests. The first one had only been working there 6 months. When she put some numbing drops in my eyes, they burned my eyes & I told her so but she didn’t do or say anything about it & just continued with the test then was having trouble with the next test & asked if I had trouble with dry eyes & I told her “no but my eyes have been burning since you put in those drops.” Still nothing was done. She could not perform the vision screening since she said she was new & another young technician performed that even though I told her that things did not look the same since my eyes were burning & irritated from the drops. After being there doing multiple tests for 1 1/2 hours, the Ophthalmologist came in & spent 10 min telling me that he thought everything was fine but I may have a cornea problem & he referred me to a cornea specialist in their group that didn’t have availability for 2 months. I asked if he had drops to help the irritation from the numbing drops &/or reversal drops for the dilation of my eyes because now I could not hardly see & I didn’t have a driver since I was told no one could come with me(the reason wi was upset other people had someone with them when I arrived). He kept saying that I should fine to drive & the dilation should wear off in a couple of hours. I explained that I had irritated & dilated eyes & didn’t feel comfortable driving but he kept saying I would be fine. I ended up slowly driving to a friend’s house that lived down the street since my house was 30 minutes away & I didn’t feel safe driving that far not being able to see. It took 7, yes SEVEN, hours for my eyes to go back to normal dilation wise but my eyes were red for 2 days from the drops! When I called back to explain the above, I was told that since I have blue eyes that it takes longer for dilation drops to wear off & I was upset that I was told it would only be a couple of hours. I also told them that I forgot to get my prescription & I was told that the doctor was not going to give it to me until I saw the cornea specialist. I explained that wasn’t for 2 months & I need to be able to see to work but my prescription is being held hostage. To top all that off, I received an email that my office visit was ready to view. I was even more shocked that my medical history was not correct & my medications were not correct. I am a woman & one of the medications listed was for men....REALLY!?!? At this point, I don’t trust that anything was done right, that my prescription(although being held) is right &/or the doctor has the correct diagnosis of what the problem is with my eyes. A friend went to a different facility after my experience & the doctor did all the testing(no numbing or dilation needed since they have modernized equipment that they could do the same testing as I had) & spent a decent amount of time explaining everything & had a new prescription for contacts & wore them out of the office in under an hour. Wish I would have gone there!!! Sabates not for me!!!

I have been going to Sabates for eight years. I would go for my yearly appointments. I had good service.. Now I have something wrong and I cant get an appointment until December. It will get better or worse by then. Its too bad they cant fit you in to see the doctor when you have a problem.

The professionalism of the staff and especially the Epic Surgery Center where I had cataract surgery on both eyes. When I first went in for surgery on my right eye I was very anxious, but the staff at the surgery center were top notch on calming me down. Dr Sabates as usual was very good at what he does.

Ive been seeing doctors at Sabates for the last 13 years and I owe my vision to them. I was born premature and always had eye problems !3 years ago I had a detached retina that required multiple surgeries. Afterward my eye pressure became a problem requiring additional steps. For 13 years my vision has remained stable and I have no doubt that I would not have my sight without the care of its doctors. I have found the doctors to be highly skilled and caring about me as a patient. The techs and other workers are always pleasant, attentive and interested in my care. I would highly recommend Sabates for any and all vision needs.

In this time of COVID 19, I have found that most medical places will be sure to verbally tell you that no one other than patient is allowed unless minor or medical necessary. I had to get into the website to see this after I was rudely told I was not allowed to stay with my husband. Now, he is going to have his eyes dilated and somehow text or call me that he is ready. If you have ever had your eyes dilated then you know things are very out of focus. I just find reception rude. For the 1st thing you encounter in a business, reception should always great you with a smile and welcoming tone. I just hope you treat my husband nicely or another review will be posted. A little kindness goes a long way!

Considering being there 10 minutes early my total waiting time was 45 minutes or more.

The woman who called me about the appointment was rude. When I asked her to write me an email, with the words OMG she hung up. Of course, I and my friends will never turn to Sabates.

I would recommend Sabates to anyone needing an eye specialist. After seven years of eye exams by another eye clinic, to monitor for diabetic related disease and prevention of glaucoma, I was informed that I then had glaucoma. Frustrated and distraught because the doctor had allowed the eye pressures to escalate without any treatment, I began searching for a new glaucoma specialist. My search led me to Sabates Eye Clinic where I was welcomed by a doctor with a gentle but take-charge personality. After hearing my story and frustrations, a thorough exam was done and treatment started that day. Although my case has been tough, he seems passionate about getting the glaucoma under control to prevent loss of my eyesight.Following laser surgery and continual treatment to both eyes, I’m extremely happy to report the pressures in both eyes are lower than they have been in 8 years.All of the technicians have been very professional and courteous.

Text I received the day before appointment required no reply. I arrived 7 minutes early and texted I was there, and, after texting I am here, after waiting about 3 minutes before the appointment time, I went inside after powering down my phone. [Later, After powering my phone up when I was leaving, I received a stored automated y/n reply if I wanted to cancel the appointment. (?)] Confusing, since I had powered down my phone as soon as I replied with I am here. Not a very good system... or user. But, its C19 time.Upon leaving, after seeing the doctor for a few minutes, he went over my macular degeneration prognosis and I was told Id be given a new prescription for glasses. Nothing was mentioned regarding my probable cataracts, only a visit for the macular degeneration a YEAR FROM now. No summary of the various eye measurements and tests was given me at the front desk, just my new glasses prescription. I guess I have no cataracts anymore... a miracle!

I moved away from Overland Park but return to see Dr. Walline for check-ups and cataract surgery. He has treated others in our family as well.

Dr. Sniegowski has done two cosmetic procedures for me, and I can’t say enough good about him. He is kind and explains everything fully, and his work is beautiful! He follows up post-surgery and genuinely cares how you are doing. I would highly recommend him!

We love Sabates Eye Center and we love Dr. B! I can see her at the Leawood location and my husband can see her at the Plaza location. We feel that we receive the most thorough eye exams we have had in the past and we like that we can walk just a few steps away to choose our lenses.

Woman who checked me in was not covering her nose with her face mask. When I asked her to, she still did not. I stood back at least 6 feet. She asked for my insurance card. I slid it onto the counter and stepped back. She said that was really rude. I asked why she thought and she had no answer. She definitely should not be the one to greet the patients.

I have been going to Sabates eye centers since 1979. I started w dr Nelson Sabates father and then went on to his son. I hav had multiple eye surgeries over the years and ea time my eyesight was better. They are wonderful doctors and nurses but also people who care. I heartily recommend them.

Very disappointed in this place I was just removed from the practice for a balance of $200 dont understand why when I just offered to pay it I havent heard nothing from them in over a month they didnt try to contact me or anything to tell me I owe this bill Until I showed up for my last appointment Before I left I told them I was going to talk to Billing before I came back and proceed on with this current appointment I was at I talked to Billing and work out a payment plan I totally my bill little bit because I had to To bury my father on the week they wanted to to pay And now a month later after calling and trying to set up another appointment for the last 3 weeks I just got notified that I been kicked from the practice I think that was very disrespectful
