I am a dentist myself, and when I realized I needed a root canal, the first thing I did was schedule treatment at Leawoods Commons Endodontics. The comforting experience begins at the front desk, always kind and accommodating. The assistants are highly trained, and the Doctors are top tier. With their experience and attention to detail, its easy to relax knowing you are in good hands. Dr. Anthony Altomare took care of me and If I ever need another root canal, this is the first office I will be reaching out to.

Dr Anthony Altomare is very knowledgeable and he makes sure to take the time to go over the treatment and answer all the questions. Nobody is excited to visit the endodontist but his staffs takes very good care of their patients. I am very please with my visit and very thankful to Dr Altomare to over my case so much patience.

Let me begin by saying I have had extensive dental work done. I was recently referred to Dr. Anthony Altomare DDS, Diplomate of the ABE by my family dentist Dr. Ayer DDS. I had sudden onset of pain in my bicuspid which involved a three-unit bridge.I was extremely uncomfortable and knew it would require immediate attention. Dr. Ayer referred me to Dr. Anthony Altomare for an abscess and root canal procedure. These dentists are so professional, they coordinated to have me seen right away. Of course, I was trepidatious. I need not have worried. Jack in the front office was both polite and expedient in answering my insurance questions.The office was spotless and welcoming. Mike, Dr. Altomare’s assistant, immediately made me feel at ease. The atmosphere of the office is quiet and calming and the dental chair was so comfortable, I could have fallen asleep. Mine was a challenging case but I was comfortable the entire time. The procedure was never painful and even post procedure I required no more than Tylenol. I cannot say enough about Dr. Anthony Altomare’s caring attitude and commitment to providing excellent patient care. He called the very next day to check on me. Such dedication is a rarity these days and so greatly appreciated.I would not hesitate in the least to recommend Dr. Anthony Altomare and his staff to anyone in need of endodontic intervention. Dr. Altomare is the best of the best. He did a root canal for me years ago with no problem and a great experience. I visited him recently and he took his time examining my teeth and personally cleaned my teeth going way beyond his normal scope of service. I enjoyed every moment of my visit. He’s the best doctor for the job and I would recommend his services to anyone. He is a super doctor!

I had a great time getting a root canal!OK that bit hyperbolic, however dentistry is both an art and a science. Doctor Altomare did a great job of explaining the science part. but is was his mastering of the art the dental procedure that I was most impressed with. The entire procedure was an intricate ballet choreographed with his assistant. I found the entire procedure to be less stressful and moreover less painful than having a filling or a cleaning. Utilization of a Microscope meant that Anthony could be working in a comfortable position with a clear vision of the delicate work that he was doing. I dont recomend that just anyone go out an get a root canal, however if you need one I highly recomend Leawood Commons. Also a Shout out to their front room staff. Their book keeper was great a problems solving and the receptionist has a very professional deminor and was very empathetic toward a client needing a root canal. Remember floss daily..

Dr. Gish did my root canal today, he was friendly and knowledgeable. He did a great job. I was in pain for days but I felt instant relief after the root canal. Couldn’t thank him enough!

Just saw Dr Anthony Altomare for a root canal and had a very pleasant experience. He was very knowledgeable and walked me through the process before doing the procedure. I had little to no pain during the root canal and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Gish did excellent work for our 9-year-old. He was able to save his tooth and even bring back the color. The whole process was smooth and anxiety-free, and we are really pleased with the outcome.

Exceptional service! Dr. Anthony Altomare was extremely kind, gentle and informative. During the appointment he also explained every step of the procedure. I never once any felt any discomfort. I would highly recommend going to see him if you’re ever in need of any endodontic treatment.

This is my husbands (Craig) posting: I can not overstate what a positive experience my first root canal was last Friday. My own dentist informed me on Thursday that I (unfortunately) needed a root canal before she could continue with my replacement crown. Her assistant handed me a couple of recommended names whom she has worked successfully with in the past. From my dentist chair I called and, luckily for me, Doctors Altomare and Gish had an opening the next morning! How often does THAT happen?After filling out necessary paperwork, Dr. Anthony Altomare came to get me, walked me back to his dental chair and consulted with me, fully explaining the step-by-step procedure what was about to happen. Equally important, he explained each step as we proceeded.I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the procedure went as it was over before I knew it. The drilling was quick and pain-free - always an important aspect. Total time in the chair was less than 60 minutes. I left pain-free and only once (that night) did I resort to his recommended amount of ibuprofen which completely ameliorate the very slight discomfort I temporarily felt. I slept easily that evening and felt no effects thereafter.I would absolutely recommend Dr. Altomare to anyone in need of his services, as his assistant and both receptionists were all very professional and very friendly and welcoming. I subsequently thanked my own dentist for her referral of Dr. Altomare.

They got me in quick once I told them I was in pain and Dr. Altomare was high skilled. The root canal was efficient and painless. I’d definitely go to him again!

Very pleased with the overall process explained to me before the procedure, during and after. Made sure I was having no pain while in the chair. After showing me the X-ray and explaining what the problem was gave me that warm fuzzy zone!If there is one recommendation is a little water 💦 at some point would help a dry throat and swallowing.If needed future work I would return.Randy

My family and I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Robert Altomare for many years. My most recent experience was no exception. I was given the last slot on the day of Christmas eve and when it was apparent that I needed a root canal, Dr. Altomare graciously stayed to perform it. Once the anesthesia had worn off, I had ZERO pain. This after having 4 days of excruciating pain. He is always very thorough and not sales oriented at all. He shoots you straight. If you need it, hell tell you. What is unusual is if you dont need it, hell tell you that too! Thank you for everything you have done for our family. Although no one looks forward to going to the endodontist, Dr. Altomare and his staff are pure professionals and I would highly recommend them.

I cant remember a time when I received this level of care and compassion from a medical staff of any kind. This is my first review of a medical facility due to the lack of service I generally find in most medical institutions. So when I arrive I was greeted by a professional and friendly staff. They got me in right away and Dr. Altomare began the checkup to verify I needed a root canal.There was a hiccup with insurance and he offered to help me instead of turn me away. I had a circumstance that required my root canal be done asap and he pulled through. The thing went off without a hitch. He explained everything as he was performing the procedure. I was out of the office in less than an hour. Im writing this just after he called me today, on a Saturday evening, to check in on me and to see how I was doing. Who does this now days? Love it. If I could give him 10 stars I would. Thanks again!

I recently had a root canal performed by Dr. Anthony Altomare. He and his staff were fantastic. I went into their office with the worst pain ever and left totally resolved. You could tell how careful and conscientious he performed the procedure. I cant recommend this office enough!!

Mike and Dr. Altomare took fantastic care of me when I was in severe, severe pain from a tooth needing a root canal. They took their time making sure they had the proper tooth and the approach to root canals was a very modern and painless one. Dr. Anthony Altomare is an excellent endodontist. He is caring, took the time to update me during my procedure, explained to me what to expect before and after, called me the next day to check on me, and when I had a question he called immediately. This was my first major dental procedure since I had 4 teeth pulled at 4 years old. I was nervous, but he was very calming. I hope I dont have to see him again, but if I need to, he is the one I will go to!

I needed a retreatment of a root canal done by a different dentist. After checking reviews and prices I decided to have Dr. Altomare perform the retreatment. I was pleasantly surprised sitting down on the memory foam pad on top of the dental chair. For me from that point on everything was relaxing as explanations were given and what to expect on the root canal retreat. Dr Altomare also listened to my comments and concerns and addressed each one. The icing on the cake was the follow up call from Dr. Altomare making sure I was doing well.

I have always been a very difficult dental patient...hard to respond to anesthesia, extra roots in teeth, etc. I had my first root canal done by another office and it was not a pleasant experience at all...hard to numb, very long procedure, pain during the procedure, and lingering pain and tenderness for weeks afterwards. When I learned that I needed another root canal I was very anxious about it. I was referred to Dr. Altamore at Leawood Commons Endodontics and I am so thankful that I was. My experience in their office was significantly better! It was quick, easy, minimal pain, Dr. Altamore knew exactly how to get my mouth numb quickly and effectively. I was in and out of his office but did not feel rushed.He was sensitive to my anxiety and concerns from my past experience. I didnt even require any OTC pain medicine afterwards!!! I hope I never need another root canal but if I do, I will certainly go back to see Dr. Altamore. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend their office!

Dr. Altomare is an experienced endodontist with a highly capable staff. My pain was unbearable and they made my life easier. Very clean and well organized establishment. Highly recommend it to anyone with Endodontic need.

Nice location; clean. Rec by our dentist. One star for getting blindsidded by the $97 consultation fee at check-out! During the appt was told they prefer to do their own x-rays (even when dentist(s) send recent ones) and was told dont worry, we dont charge for them. (Then what is the $97 consultation fee for exactly?) only had 10min face-to-face with the Endo, and thats b/c I asked f/u questions. Had I known about the excessive consultation fee, I would have gone elsewhere, b/c I thought there was no charge (asked when making appt and nothing mentioned). Feel not being informed completely unethical! Waiting for 10min past appt time did not make me any less annoyed/frustrated when leaving.

Just got a root canal from Dr. Altomare. Ive had root canals before, and the doctor always tells me there will be no pain. The difference here is Dr. Altomare backed it up. From the shot to numb me and me walking out the door, I never felt a thing. Him and his staff are excellent.bi highly recommend and if I ever need another root canal I will be going back.
