First time I have written a positive review for Dental Services. This place is the very good at what they do. The Hygienist s and assistants are very accommodating and professional.Dr Iongi- is my Dentist and she really took the time to explain all my options and took the time to get to know me and go over all of her exam. She may be young, but she clearly cares and is very knowledgeable and skilled. I didn’t even have any pain during my extraction, she was patient and allotted ample time for the numbing medication to set in fully.I highly recommend Dr. Iongi. She is a solid clinician and has the hands to match her acumen. I am in the medical field and work as a nurse. I was impressed with Monarch and all of the folks in the Layton office huge thumbs up. Thank you so much.

I had a dental emergency. The staff and dentist worked to fit me into their schedule. They provided me with options on how to take care of my problem, worked with my insurance to come up with costs for each option in writing, and let me make a decision based on what I felt was best for my circumstances. The entire staff is friendly, competent, and caring.

Ive only been to the Layton location and even after moving to South Ogden, I still continue to go to this location. The staff is so kind and thorough with every visit. Definitely recommend!

I absolutely love the Monarch Dental office in Layton! I am going to selfishly not give my favorite dentists name cause I dont want him booked out for years at a time- Lol! Kidding aside, all the dentists are wonderful! Dave is a wonderful hygienist. Ive never been falsely diagnosed, the clinic is super nice and flexible, and I have not had one billing issue in the 3 years Ive been going.

Do not sign anything!!!! they can charge you whatever they feel like if you do... i get it, evaluations are hard, but the amount of money you are taking from hard working people is criminal...Dentists are scammers.

I love the Layton Monarch dental office. I’ve been going there for years.

Ortho is absolutely ridiculous! I can’t tell you how many times they had to reschedule me because they either messed up or the ortho doctor was sick and they wait tell last second to tell you if you’re planning on getting Ortho don’t go with Monarch Dental because they cost you more time and money.

Usually we love coming here for our dental needs but that has recently changed. The inability to return a phone call is utterly ridiculous. I have called several times asking for the office manager to please reach out to me regarding an issue with my daughters braces. Each time I am met with the same response: “I will remind her to call you back.” But that does not happen. This is incredibly frustrating after I have reached out several times. Once our daughters braces are finally off, we will looking for a new dentist office.

I was looking for a good dental hygienist because I am a periodontal patient. I got a call from them for a cancellation and they were able to see me at once. The office is clean and observes covid mitigation measures. They front desk ladies were very accommodating and friendly and most of all, hygienist Sierra did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. I’m very happy and will definitely go back!

This place was great! The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. I was able to get a next day appointment for a check up and they were even able to fit me in to see a hygienist right after the check up. I again want to emphasize how florear the staff was, my dentist was AWESOME and so was my hygienist! I’ll definitely keep coming back.Edit: I want to add that my hygienist, Alexandra was the absolute best that I’ve ever had. She was chill and friendly and described everything she was doing, and broke it down to layman terms.

It was great - the entire staff were friendly, courteous and answered all my questions. Informed me of the estimated costs for my next visit in 6 months. I was not charged for todays consultation.

They used extra caution for COVID prevention during my entire visit. Its hard to believe that going to the dentist could be a pleasant experience during a pandemic but Monarch Dental pulled it off!My hygienist was Laura and she did a thorough job cleaning my teeth. She was friendly and kind. The dentist Dr. Heidi was friendly too.

Layton really is the BEST office in northern Utah. Efficient, friendly, professional staff. Honest dentist. Overall great experience. Worth the drive and will continue to go to this office.

Paid my bill upfront before the service, received a bill for $180.00Contacted them in March of 2019 and spoke to someone who told me she would look at it and be in contact if any additional info was needed. Never heard from them until received a collection notice. Called to discuss again and they claim they have spoken with me on several occasions, which is a flat out lie as one is as recent as the 8th of this month! Will never use this place again

There is a reason most of these reviews are negative.. went in today for an EMERGENCY. it’s one of those super-franchise places where you’ll never have a personal relationship with your dentist, they probably have 250 patients a day. save your time and money. go somewhere worth a damn!

They did such a great job describing my dental condition and what my treatment needs were. The hygienist also gave me a print out of the cost breakdown with my insurance which is so nice to KNOW rather than just having no idea what they’re going to charge me. They were very communicative and friendly!

First time coming here very friendly staff and Dr. Lindgren was amazing he explained me everything they were doing.cause unfortunately I need two crown and root canel for my bottom back teeth.i was not expecting this he went above and beyond for me he didnt charge for the price for the 2nd crown or for the laboratory. i knw with Covid pandemic everybody is tight on money. I had dentures made at monarch dental recently and the top denture does not fit. I went in and had a soft liner done and they still dont fit. They flop around even with glue in. When I called and told them they still dont stay in they told me they would give me a number for an oral surgeon. I spent all the money I had on these dentures. I am on disability and dont have a lot of money. I feel that if they dont fit they evidently did something wrong and start over if they have to. The way it is right now I have an expensive paper weight instead of a denture that fits

The staff are friendly on the phone but one hand does not know what the other one is doing. This office first told me a procedure was approved by my insurance, started the process which would be multi-appointment and then after the first step told me its not a covered service causing a large balance owed on the spot and a hole in my mouth.Scheduling a second appointment, now the doctor travels between offices. So I schedule one for another office. The procedure felt rushed. I was bruised and swollen for several days. Two days in and one of the stitches came out causing a bleeding event and a poor healing of the area. Time for the third appointment. I get two consecutive text reminders for the other office. I called this one to determine the length of time this procedure would take. They said they cant see the other offices schedules, but somehow miraculously made mine. Then noted that the doctor was not scheduled to be in either of the offices but in one now 40 minutes away. Had to call the other office who sent me the text reminders and they confirmed the doc was not going to be in and wanted to reschedule my appointment. Needless to say three strikes, youre out! Im getting other opinions because the work wont be finished here.

Great office visit for 6 month cleaning. Staff did a great job! Was disappointed to find out Dr. Vernon, my Dr of many years no longer works their. An email or letter from monarch would have been enough, just something, anything! It takes time to find the right Dentist and now I have to start over as do all his patients. Where is the disconnect?!

This was my first experience with Monarch Dental. I couldnt be more impressed. Paula, Jeremy, Matt and another person who assisted Jeremy. Unfortunately Ive lost her name. But she was equally outstanding. The point I appreciated most was the way they all spoke with me. They didnt speak at me, they spoke with me! I have much yet to do & so I will return as needed actually with some excitement. That feeling has never been one for me going to the dentist. I am a new, grateful fan of the people at Monarch Dental in Layton

They’re kinda nice people. The dentist sees you for 30 seconds and heads out. Probably won’t be going here much longer. It’s like they have too many clients so you feel like just another paycheck to them.

She was doing multiple things at once without making any of us feel rushed and was so friendly while doing it. The medical assistant, Angie, was absolutely wonderful She was so sweet and funny. I love that she actually talked to me while she was setting things up, doing x-rays, etc. She always had smile which made me feel better, because like most people, I was nervous being there. Dr. Milne was also wonderful, like I said it was busy but he was very kind and personable and explained to me exactly to expect. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone, they were all just wonderful! Thank you!

Do not go to this dentist! I’m finally writing this review after finding a new dentist and the contrast is night and day. Monarch was rude, unprofessional, and gave both me and my husband awful fillings. The dentist left all kinds of residue on my husband’s teeth from his filling (in between his teeth and on the surface). When my husband asked about it, the dentist said it was just buildup that couldn’t be removed. Our new dentist said it was definitely not buildup and was from the awful filling job at Monarch and would have to be drilled off. I had the same experience after a filling at Monarch but went back the same day, as soon as the numbness wore off, because I had super sharp/rough residue left on my teeth. Super infuriating, why is this dentist even in practice?Also, same guy was completely unprofessional when I needed x-rays but there was a chance I was pregnant. He made all kinds of offensive jokes, and then the next time I came in and wasn’t pregnant joked “Congratulations! So you had the baby!” Full knowing it had only been a month since the previous appointment...really?! What if I had miscarried and you made that kind of comment?! You shouldn’t be commenting, period, because my personal life has nothing to do with you, [insert choice insult that google won’t allow]. Same goes for the dental assistant who muttered under her breath “kids these days, irresponsible and getting pregnant” and then told me “I hope you know what you’re doing.” Um, yes, thank you, I’m much older than I look, married, and yes, starting a family. But again, none of your business, [insert other choice insult]!Monarch also forgot to book my appointment on one occasion (I guess the person on the phone just decided not to schedule it for kicks and giggles). At the time, I was staying with a relative and had to drive over an hour to get to Monarch...and then they tell me I’m not on the schedule and they can’t work me in until that evening (about 6 hours later). So I hang out for all that time, come back, and the snooty receptionist (they’re always snooty) acts like they have no idea what I’m talking about and still can’t see me because the dentist is gone and there’s only one hygienist left. Are you kidding?! I just waited over 6 hours because you said you’d fix the mistake that was yours to begin with. I almost lost it, I should’ve just left, but she smooth-talked the hygienist into staying late to see me. And...that was the last time I went to Monarch.And now I have a family practice that we go to that’s amazing. Stay far away from Monarch!! Worst dental office I’ve ever been to!

I came in for an emergency appointment, but I will continue to go here because the staff is great and Dr. Vernon is THE BEST! Going to the dentist always freaks me out (hence the reason why I usually put it off for as long as possible), but Vernon was awesome! His “bedside manor” is unmatched in my mind. He was great at explaining everything I had questions about and he was also able to joke around.I would highly recommend Monarch dental and especially Dr. Vernon to anyone, like me, who have had negative dental experiences in the past. You’ll feel right at ease after the first visit!

My daughter had a bad experience with a previous dentist so she vowed she wouldnt go to another one. Monday she had terrible pain in her mouth and needed to be seen. My husband had gone to Monarch Dental and didnt have any issues, so we made an appointment for our daughter. She had the best experience, even liked it! She has a second appointment coming up and cant wait. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Lindgren was amazing! I would highly recommend Monarch Dental!

I had my first appointment 6 months ago and scheduled a 6 month follow-up. I scheduled that appointment for today Saturday January 18th. I have an email confirmation and confirmed this appointment in advance. I drive to their office to find it locked with their hours stating that they dont have any on the weekends. Seriously?! I made this appointment 6 months ago and I waited all that time for an appointment that was never going to happen. Very disappointed and frustrated by the lack of common sense and foresight by their staff. Incredibly unprofessional.

Went for a root canal that 2 other dentists said I needed. When Dr Lindgren saw another option that had not been presented to me before of course I went with it. Dr said it would hurt and be sore but I could hardly tell her had done work. Not to mention he so sat and conversed with me before getting started. A little get to know you chat! I know most doctors do this but for me the whole experience was awesome! Not to mention no root canal saved me several hundred dollars 😀

The first time I went, Dr. Vernon impressed me with how he tried to minimize pain for the patient. He did such a good job that I brought my 6-year old that had had a very negative experience with another doctor. He did great, was able to have 2 cavities fixed despite his fears. Since then I have brought both of my boys and they have had very good experiences. (And no cavities since. Teach you kids to floss, brush, and use mouth wash as soon as they have teeth that touch.)

Matt was very thorough. Dr. Linden is the kindest and very knowledgeable. The front desk staff is just ok, dont judge the dental service by the front desk staff!

I am very disappointed with this office. We recently moved to the area and I made an appointment for 4pm. I arrived at 3:40, anticipating paperwork, which I did not receive until 4pm. I then waited until 4:30 with no update. Once I was taken back, I expressed concern about the time and was told Oh we wouldnt have time for a cleaning today. A cleaning was literally the only thing I wanted and I stated this when making my appointment. The individual who walked me back explained that appointments are made by a central office in Texas, thousands of miles away. I am shocked that a place rated so highly (which touts its Google review rating all in the office) could so nonchalantly waste a new patients time. No services were provided this day and I will be contacting a different dentists office in the area unaffiliated with Monarch. You lost my business as well as the rest of my family today.

Ive been going here since having moved to Utah 2 years ago and I absolutely love it. They take great care of my teeth and have gotten them in a healthier condition. They are nice and answer any questions and concerns you have about the work, surgery, billing etc. My hygienist is awesome!

After I left a lower star review, Monarch Dental contacted me to discuss my appointment issues. I have always had great experiences there until this one, and I believe it will be remedied in the future. I am so impressed with their help.

HORRIBLE. My 76 year old grandmother had a tooth pulled and they didnt use any topical numbing before the numbing shots, they DID NOT wait until it was numb AT ALL. We walked into the office, did paperwork, got the tooth pulled and walked out all in LESS THAN 12 MINUTES. And they charged more because it wasnt a simple procedure. She felt EVERYTHING.

My son always has a great experience with Monarch dental in Layton. Great staff and very kid friendly, and great work. They repaired my sons chipped tooth...Cant even tell! Thank you!!!

WARNING - DO NOT USE MONARCH DENTAL. Go anywhere else but here. We have been dealing with an issue with them for a year. They will “check” your coverage and tell you you’re covered for unnecessary elective procedure and then afterwards, the real bills start coming in. They will tell you that the insurance actually didn’t cover your procedure and now you owe nearly $1000. They’ll quote a line they put in your paperwork that says if insurance denies coverage, then The patient is liable to pay the amount of the procedure. This is after we talked to them to make absolutely sure we were covered. And this is after they gave us an invoice of several hundred dollars promising that we wouldn’t have to pay any more than that amount. This company is full of scheming and scamming rats!!!

He is very kind, gentle and informative about what is happening as he works my teeth are in the best shape they have been in years, thanks to his skills! Totally reccomend him and his crew! ♡

Went in and they said I needed a cavity filled. OK, fine. I did it. Went in a few weeks later for a routine cleaning and said I would now need two more fillings, and those teeth never even bothered me. Went to another place for a second opinion and they said that my teeth had stains but no cavities and I didnt need fillings.

I would highly recommend Monarch dental! Went there for a root canal with a HUGE fear of dentist and now I will never go anywhere else because the entire staff made me feel completely at ease and actually listen to all my concerns. When it came down to it they let me decide to what I was most comfortable with and I left knowing I will always come back to them for my dental needs!

The worst dental office I have ever been to! So unorganized, the front office people were talking about someone calling off and were on their personal phones the whole time and personal issues they were having. I provided my dental insurance the day before and it still wasn’t verified by the time I went and the time I left. They never emailed me prices they said they were going to. I really liked the dentist but they seriously need to replace the receptionist. I wouldn’t even give this office 1 star

I love Monarch Dental. Everyone is friendly, informative and caring. They have taken care of my family for several years. I can’t think of going anywhere else.

Very warm and inviting atmosphere along with a level of comfort when I talk to the staff.

Great place. Everything was explained to me, all my questions were answered, I have a wisdom tooth that needs to be pulled and the whole staff was great and friendly. The dentist called me later that day to follow up and make sure everything was OK and see if I had any questions. The only bad thing I could say is that I was told I would have a 10 minute wait after I was numbed and it ended being closer to 25 (I scheduled a cleaning and they squeezed in a filling so that was understandable).

The X-ray system they have to x-ray the teeth look like a 15 Century contraption you stick this thing in your mouth and then you have to get 18 pictures of your mouth. Most other dentist Ive gone to they just put it up to your mouth and they take a picture maybe 4 times. They did a thorough cleaning on my teeth then after they were done they said wait here while the dentist comes back to inspect our work. I sat in that chair for more than 15 minutes twiddling my thumbs waiting for the dentist just to come check to work before I could leave. My estimate for being there for this visit would have been a half hour to 45 minutes. I was there for over an hour and a half. Not too thrilled with this experience!

Dr. Lindgren is the best dentist ever!!! Wouldnt take my kids to anybody else. He is a honest and kind man. Vera is also a great dental assistant ;) if you need your teeth fixed, this is the place for you.

Horrible experience at Monarch Dental in Layton. Old, dirty equipment from the 90s. Assistants do much of the work including building and putting in a temporary crown wrong causing me weeks of agony. The dentist never even looked at it! They sent me home with a mouth full of blood and wanted to be paid every dime before the work was even done. Very unprofessional. Please do yourself a favor and seek dental work elsewhere.

So far Ive had 2 appointments with hygienist, Cody. Awesome! Very thorough. Explains whats on the x-rays. And if hes in a good mood, he even sings along with the radio. Provides an upbeat and happy environment, even though youre at the dentists office and youd probably rather be anywhere else... Thanks Cody!** Edit. Their billing department is a joke. Its been 5 months and Ive called them multiple times for them to rebill a corrected claim to fix a billing error they sent to my insurance company. Its really not hard to rebill a claim. Cant get a confirmation electronically? Then send a hard copy and call to confirm receipt. Been a couple weeks without hearing anything back? Call the insurance and check on the status of the claim!Ive called multiple times to their office and have been told the claim has been rebilled twice. I called my insurance company and they told me theyve never received any corrected claims from Monarch. And all this time Im still getting statements every month even though I paid my portion in full at time of service... 5 months ago. As a patient, I shouldnt have to continue to call Monarch Dental and my insurance company to check on the status of my claim. That isnt my job! If they pass the claim submission deadline, I AM NOT PAYING because they cant do their job and follow through with claim statuses and payments!Five stars for Cody the hygienist for doing excellent work. 0 stars for billing department! Not coming back to this place. Too much of a hassle.

I have conflicting feelings. I thought that the staff was all very nice but the building had very old equipment and seems a little run down. I think with a face lift people would feel more comfortable.

If they had a no star I would give this unprofessional office a zero rating. The worse experience I have ever had with a professional medical office. Made an appointment for wisdom teeth extraction 2 weeks before school started, even accommodated their schedule and was willing to drive 30 minutes away to see the doctor so we could get this done before school starting. Booked the appointment and thought all was well. Until I got an unapologetic phone call from their office stating that they would have to cancel my daughters appointment 3 days before her surgery because their doctor was trying to accommodate an appointment in his own personal life that day. My daughter scheduled herself off work for 5 days to get this done and we rearranged many other things because we thought this was confirmed. Apparently, it is makes no difference to this office or the doctors patients that we have a life too and we held up our end to make sure this happened. The office manager was rude and unapologetic stating she would call me back to give me referrals to other offices so that we could still get this done. Surprisingly, she never did. I will never use this office ever again. Dr. Steele and the staff at Monarch dental are so unprofessional, I was left speechless that a company and a staff would treat me the way I was treated and had the nerve to casually cancel a big appointment like this without having a valid excuse. I would never use this office. Something similar happened a year ago when I went in for another consult and I should have learned my lesson then but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I recommend you stay as far away from this place as possible. They are incompetent, unprofessional and unfriendly as they come! Buyer beware! Dont be fooled by lower prices. Go to someone that values you as a client and patient and wants repeat customers!

My 7 year old son came in to have 2 cavities filled last Friday. My son was nervous because he had two previous teeth that were pulled -- both pulled by Monarch -- so my son knew they would give him a shot for it. My son sits just fine for cleanings. I help him brush and floss every day, and hes only had one cavity before this.Even after laughing gas, my son was absolutely terrified and the dentist was impatient with him. Instead of trying to talk him through it and give him time to calm down, the dentist threw down his instruments, told me they couldnt do it because my son wouldnt hold still, and stormed out. My son was crying and screaming. I do think my son overreacted (I was really unimpressed by his behavior, but hey, I get it. Mouth shots are the worst) but the dentist was not interested in helping him calm down. The dentist just kept asking, why are you crying? you have to hold still.Today I took my son to Dawsons Pediatric Dentistry on Fairfield. They took new x-rays and discovered there were FIVE cavities, not two. Also, one of the cavities Monarch had identified as needing to be filled was so large, Dr. Dawson thinks it might need a root canal but wont know until he goes to fill it. Monarch didnt mention anything about a possible root canal or identify additional cavities.All around, Im very disappointed with Monarch Dental. This was shoddy work. They are not equipped to handle children and the needs they might have when they are nervous about dental work. If youre looking somewhere for your child to go, dont go to Monarch Dental -- go somewhere that specializes in kids, or at least has a tv in the ceiling they can watch to take their mind off it all.
