My family have been coming to VIP braids for almost a year and I wouldnt have it any other way. They are super fast, nice and the quality is great. The braids last for months.

Tinu and Vicky did waist length knotless braids on my hair today and I love them. It only took 2.5 hours and they are very neat and lightweight. This is my first time getting waist length and I love them. I will definitely be visiting them again for my next Braid style.

The initial communication was horrible which should have let me know the service would be horrible. I made an appointment for my daughter and myself and the pictures we showed is not what was received. I got my hair done Saturday after waiting 2 hours after my appointment time to get started the braiders were unable to do the styles and stood over my head trying to figure it out. I asked did I need to switch styles and was told yes switch from I style I pulled from their website! Today is Monday and I have had multiple braids to fall out and even went back to the location and was treated horribly! I will NEVER step foot in this business in my life and will advise all of my social media followers to do the same!

My stylist was professional. She worked on my hair without talking too much to the other employees. Her work was neat and even though it was pricey, I couldn’t complain about the quality. I’ve received many compliments about my hairstyle.

Overall good experience. People give compliments and ask where I’ve got it done from day 1. The ladies are very efficient and gave me exactly what I asked for. Prices are affordable and it’s good vibes good energy in the salon. They are very hard workers and try their best to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. Plus they accept walk ins!

I called in the day before going asking about pricing on large box braids. I went in on Saturday showed pictures of what I wanted. 2 ladies got started right away. It was kind of a rush job. I asked for mid back and each braid is longer or shorter than the other and 3 started to unravel. I have been twice before this time and got smaller box braids and they did a wonderful job. Not sure if because it was a lot going on at 4 in the afternoon. They just seemed like they were quickly trying to finish and leave.. not sure if I will go back again. The only thing that was good was the size I asked for.

These ladies are so unprofessional. i sent a picture of my hair and went up there to make sure they could braid it they said yes and did such a poor job. You can see my hair sticking out of the braids and the braids arent even braided to the neds and are already unraveling. I called and asked for a refund and a texted and the owner ignored me. Then called back saying you know sometimes with short hair this happens. I would never recommend them and I want me money back

Honest review:I was skeptical abt coming after seeing the reviews with pics, but my last shop took 12hrs on my daughter’s hair. So I was willing to try a new shop. We do not live close, so that was another thing that made me not want to go, but my daughter said let’s try it.Pros: The atmosphere was a pretty standard salon and clean. My daughter was done in 5hrs which was great!! And she’s happy with her hair! The braiders were nice.Cons: When you go, you might want to bring an assistant. I’ve never in my life had to continuously pass my braider hair while doing my hair. If we’re paying for a service, we shouldn’t have to assist. Especially not the entire time. My daughter wasn’t passing hair fast enough. I thought that was hilarious. I was a good sport. But another customer was not having it! (Rightfully so.) That’s my only complaint.Will we be back? Ummm… that’s still up in the air. Again, our braiders were faster than the other place, but the that passing the hair to them has to go. When we pay for a service, it’s just that. I braid too, but I didn’t want to braid her hair this time. So we paid and ended up working.

I’ve been coming to VIP for a couple of years now and I love it here! They are friendly and efficient and the ONLY salon that I trust to do my braids. My hair has grown so much since I’ve been coming here and my edges are still in tact!

Got my hair done an hour ago and it looks a mess. One of my twists fell out, none of my twists are the same length. They did a rush job and it shows. I wouldnt recommend going to them for passion twists. When I asked them about the passion twists they were confused on what I was talking about. I should have known then that it wouldnt come out right. The one lady who did my hair had already had an attitude like she didnt want to do it.

Love my hair , the price was affordable . There was no wait when i came in for my appointment!! Highly recommend.

This is my second time going to VIP Braids and I was very satisfied with the results. I tried a different style with #350 and was really happy with the results. I was able to get knotless, waist length braids done in 5 1/2 hours and able to enjoy the rest of my day. Definitely would recommend going for your braiding needs!

I have been here several times and have had great service each time. My first time here, I came after another braid salon did a terrible job! They rebraided my hair abd it was ouchless as well. Great service!

Got my hair done here super last minute and was so glad they took walk ins!! I got knotless braids and they came out soooo nice and NEAT and didnt take that long. Only thing is the ladies working on my hair were a little bit unprofessional. The lady working on the back of my head and the lady working on the front argued and bickered like twice while doing it. And the lady working on the front braids (she was wearing hijab) raised her voice at me for not handing her the hair quick enough, which was very rude.When she left another lady was able to finish up my front braids and she was very sweet and efficient. Also, when the two ladies were doing my hair they were talking on the phone loudly which made it not a pleasant experience The other ladies in the salon talk TOO much and are a little unprofessional making the experience as a whole not that pleasant. But at least my hair came out nice!

I did not get what I asked and showed the staff. I am requesting a refund for the third time. I asked you all to correct it three times before leaving. Your staff member had an attitude and very poor customer service . Here is my daughter in the yellow shirt and the picture you received of what her hair was supposed to look like. FIRST TIME AND LAST TIME COMING. FYI. The staff member switched out and ran out the door and left my daughter with someone else who didnt know how to even put the ribbons on. THANK GOD I WAS SITTING THERE IN THE SHOP to see this mess of a style unfold.

My first time at a African braiding salon and it was definitely an experience. Somewhat of a loud atmosphere but they are very quick with their work and reasonable, consistent pricing.Cathy and Katty did awesome on my knotless braids. They gave great suggestions on what style will work with my short hair. Very professional and gave me exactly what I asked for.Very neat work and each braid is consistent in size. They also avoided my edges as requested. Will definitely return!Customer Advice: Let the stylist have a break to eat and drink. They work extremely hard on their feet, back to back work. Be understanding.

I sent in a picture of my desired style and they said yes it could be done . I get to the salon I had to show the picture again to another lady that said $185. Then after being seated at the station another lady comes to start the top showed her the picture again of the desired style. Basically this place was a what I asked for was NOT what I got at all!!! The size that I showed them was night and day diffrence but they seemed neat so I went with it. The next day I noticed the middle is another size and some are twisted all the way to the end and some are braided. Also the hair is not of good quality it sheds I saw another girl brought her own hair and I now know why .

Never go here! Complete disrespect for peoples time! I communicated with the owner to make an appointment for Sunday at 10am. When I arrived at 10am, there were 6+ people in the waiting room also waiting for 10am appointments... and guess what - no braiders to service them. We inquired several times where the braiders were, and they said to just wait and the braiders will eventually show up when they want to. When they want!?! Over an hour and half later, no additional braiders arrive and people start leaving the waiting room in frustration. The woman sitting next to me in the waiting room said she had been there before, and thats how they treat people. Its just absolutely ridiculous. Why would you schedule 10 people at 10am when you only have 4 braiders? Do you really expect people to wait 5+ hours for their turn? Absurd! Take your money elsewhere. The place is not even clean.

Braids came out looking good. Experience was not good. The lady was really rough when dealing with my natural hair, a lot of pulling and combing out aggressive. My baby hairs was pulled back in my braids and not left out how I asked. Interruptions during hair braiding with no excuses given.

Six braids fell out!!!! I received knotless box braids on 5/16/21at the cost of $200. The appt took about 3 1/2 hrs - I waited for 45 mins and the remainder of the time was spent with the braiders. One week later on 5/22/21, one of the braids just fell onto the floor. In the days following, 5 more came out randomly. So embarrassing. I am so thankful I was at home. Imagine the embarrassment of someone telling me that my braid “fell out”!! My daughter has worn box braids for 15 years (most of her life) and had them done at various salons in Gwinnett, so I know how to care for braids. This NEVER EVER happened to her braids...and she was an athlete and would frequently swim. We washed them ALL the time. I am so disappointed as I am terrified that this trend will continue. I cannot recommend VIP braids.

I Will never go to this shop again because you never know what your going to get. Went up on price both times i visited this shop!! The first time i went last year was ok even though it took entirely to long and didnt matter that i made an appointment. The last time i went it looked like a child did my twist!! I have seen others complain while i was getting my hair done and them getting another braider to redo an entire head. MY braids were uneven and very sloppy at the root. I could not even style my hair like i normally do. Plus my hair was frizzy the very next day and i was told color hair does that which is bazarr because i always get colored hair but cheap hair will do that!! I understand that braiders socialize to past time which is ok....but not when you are talking while eating with your mask under your nose and spitting in someones hair and on my arm repeatedely while your braiding it like this older woman with very short hair did me. It was gross and this went on off and on the last two hours of my hair appointment.

I was a walk-in and was in and out in aboit 3 hours. I love my braids

I called ahead and asked if the there was anyone available to do a “wash and straight back corn rows” and the lady over the phone said yes... I then asked can I come now or make an appointment. She said come now.... I got to the salon and it was extremely busy. When I arrived at the salon.. I spoke with the lady that appears to be running the shop I explained to her that I called ahead and just needed a wash and conrows. She asked me to have a seat. I waited for over 2hours... just for her to tell me she doesnt have someone to wash my hair - only cornrow! I was so annoyed! Its incredibly disrespectful to waste someones time like that... she was not even apologetic. I would give zero stars if I could.

Took 8 hours for simple box braids. OMG, the Braiders were so rude. My braider took a 45 minute break while doing my hair. Although I expressed to the owner that I had been there since 8:30(my scheduled appt time)she did absolutely nothing. I use to like this shop, but I will NEVER go back. I paid $200 for rudeness and unprofessional service and no regards to my time.

I scheduled an appointment online for my son for 9:15 for loc maintenance. The stylist didnt arrive to open the shop until 10:00. Once she arrived, my son waited another 40 minutes only to be told she didnt style men. I then called, who I assume was the owner, and was told she was coming to do my sons hair because his stylist called out. His hair looked sloppy and rushed. Would not recommend.

Kade did my hair today and let me tell you!!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! She’s so professional and she ensured she did my knotless braids EXACTLY the size I asked and it looks SOOOOO AMAZING! I was very disappointed in the lack of professionalism I witness in the salon this morning. Not only was the braiders not on time, they each came in with attitudes. I would think if you had four people scheduled at 9am - youd have four braiders available at 9am. Waiting an hour and 15 minutes is unacceptable. Also, if you dont want to do a clients hair because its too short or you cant do the style because you havent been trained- dont pick at them in front of everyone or make jokes - pull them to the side an tell them. I will never come back even though Ms. Ruby was very polite over the phone. Ms. Ruby today was not a good day for many of your clients. You need to train your staff on professionalism and that time is of the essence.

Hello All,Its in a great location, the mall and restaurants are nearby.The braids are okay. I have been to other places in Atlanta area that seem to do a better job.. its many braiding shops in Atlanta.The quality of hair is not the best. The hair seems to be cheap. The customer service is not the best either. This place can use some improvement.Seem like they want your money more so than caring about the customer hair.Do your research first before coming here.Fair warning :)I do not recommend.

I made an appointment the night before for 9:30. Arrived 10 minutes ahead of my scheduled time to a waiting area full of women also having made a 9:30 appointment. I sat and waited 40 minutes for the other hair braiders to arrive to be attended to. I asked for knotless braids which these are not. Well that’s not fair half are half aren’t. The women doing my braids ate a Burger King whopper while doing my hair. Talked on the phone, FaceTime (with me in the screen looking crazy) listened to loud music and sang along in my ear the whole time. I had to hold the braiding hair and separate it for her (she was very quick to let me know it was doing it wrong. Lots of teeth smacking). I listened to two other women be pressured into saying they liked their hair after complaining that it didn’t look how it should. I even ended up missing my Lyft waiting for her to trim and boil the hair. So you can imagine my patients were THIN. 5 1/2 hours and 200 dollars later my hair looks like $¥!+! Stray hairs coming out everywhere I look like a motherless child. AND ITS VERY TIGHT. It’s been a week and a half and I still can’t sleep thru the whole night. Edges in the back are GONE!!! I work in the service industry and I’ve never gotten my hair braided so maybe I should’ve gotten up and left earlier but now I know. For the amount of money I spent these braids should’ve lasted atleast two weeks and now I’m also partially bald so yea letting anyone else know THIS PLACE SUCKS BEWARE🚨🚨🚨

Twice Ive been to this shop ad twice I left disappointed. The first time I asked for large box braids on myself. The sections were big but the braids were too small. I took them out after a week. The second time, I took my son to get 6 simple straight back braids. Too simple of a style to mess up, or so I thought. The braids were sloppy, crooked and uneven. 2 strikes and Im out :-(

This was my second time at VIP Braids and they did a good job on my daughter’s distressed locs and my cornrows. I’m used to getting my braids done for over 10 years by my former braider in SC and it’s been hard to find the same quality since coming to GA, but this might be my new braiding go-to spot. They could work on their professionalism and cleanliness but overall a good place. I’ll definitely continue coming here when I can’t get to my old stylist. Thanks ladies!

Traveled 8 hours away to go back here second visit was horrible I booked 6 appointments at 8:30 am she said 3 if us could come at that time and the other 3 at 11 I got in the chair at 9 am and didn’t finish until late after 5 pm And to get 5 strings added to my braids for 1 dollar a piece I was told I had to wait the after Already being there 8+hours the person who braided the back of my hair did fine then another lady braided the front the front is very heavy and my real hair is parted to small they are shorter then anticipated fromMy last visit and I paid 200 for waist length the owner ruby said they could fix it before I left I called and spoke With her multiple times the last time we spoke she said she could get me in Sunday afternoon she never called back and my hair is still messed up never going back here

Thank you VIP Braids! I am very happy with my small knotless braids mid back. Bossun and Bantu were so awesome! My appointment was at 9:15 AM I got there about 9, so I didnt mind the short wait since I was early. But they got me back exactly at 9:15 if not a couple of minutes before I was done shortly before 2pm! I was so impressed being that my hair is very thick and Bossun also serviced other customers in between but she kept me informed and returned each time to ensure my hair was completed professionally and neatly. I am only giving 4 stars because I was not prepared to be a part of the process, the only suggestion I have is maybe that they have a process for separation of the extensions rather than have the customer responsible for that part of it, but I understand sometimes due to limited space its hard to organize the extensions in a place that is convenient for the braider! Will definitely go back and refer, but it was worth the drive from the south side! Thank you!
