I liked that when I came in I was started immediately. Had an 8am appointment and was out by 11am. Didnt like everyone spoke Spanish. It is a Dominican shop and I understand that but I feel the same way when I go to the nail salon and everybody speaking in another language. Not a biggie... Im satisfied with the work done. I wear my hair natural and I wanted it blown out, curled and colored.

Noemi is the best, I have mistreated my hair for far too long, just couldn’t find a good salon, Noemi was so patient with me explained things to me and my hair came out amazing, I’m in love with my color, highlights and cut, will definitely be back

Have been going there for years whenever I need a good blowout. I mainly take my daughter, Neomi has gotten to know her and takes her time and provide fast service. Patience is not always easy when you have a client that may have a few challenges. For that I am pleased!

Awesome clean place in the ladies were fast. My hair was dry and brittle after going there my hair is thick and looks so luxurious Im really thinking about going back for another hair appointment today

I was referred to this salon by a family member. I had surgery on my shoulder and was unable to do my own hair. I am transitioning from perm hair back to natural. I drive 50 miles one way to get my hair done here and these ladies are amazing! They have worked miracles on my thinning grey hair and the new growth is coming in so beautifully.

I took my daughter to Salon New York because my friend referred it to me, and I am very glad she did, my daughter has been to quite a few hairstylists this was the best by far. She got a color and cut and it came out looking awesome. I will be returning, definitely recommend.

My go to salon. Have tried going to other places closer to me, since Im 30 minutes away, but they never compare. Large space, clean environment, knowledgeable stylists and for someone who has a tender head, works out usually painlessly. Prices are fair, staff is very friendly. I would strongly recommend.

I called this morning to make an appointment and was asked what I needed done. Advised that I wanted shampoo, blow dry and flat ironed! The lady said ok what time.....I responded 10:30. So the appointment was confirmed! When she started shampooing my hair, I’m thinking she must have just started. For one water was all over me and she shampooed my hair like she was in a shampoo race! After the shampoo I went to the chair were she attempted to roll my hair. I advised her I didn’t want that I needed it to be blow dried! She said “oh I don’t have time I have customers under the dryer”.😳 I asked why didn’t she tell me that when I called, especially after me telling you specifically what I wanted done! This woman tells me “Everybody says that but I roll hair up and put them under the dryer”! 🙄 There were two people in there when I got in there which both were under the dryer. Plus two people working so I don’t think she didn’t have time, she didn’t want to do it. I wanted what I wanted, not what she wanted me to have done! That was my first and last time going to that salon! Very unprofessional and music was extremely loud!

Are you looking for stylists who can help your hair grow and stay healthy, then you should start coming to this salon. All of the stylist provide great service, attention to your hair needs and a great atmosphere to relax while getting an excellent wash at the shampoo bowl! I love this salon.

Stylist did a wonderful job, cut and blowout came out great but I did notice heat protector was not used at any point of my visit ( did not see it used on any customer either but I could be wrong). I googled the item I thought was a heat protector and it was a keratin conditioner oil. So just make sure you bring your own or request to see the one they are using if you want heat protector. They will catch an attitude though. The lady up front had a slight attitude when I was trying to explain my previous heat damage experience at another salon due to high heat and no heat protectant and why I wanted the stylist to check to see if I had damage so we can cut whatever damage was left off. I guess she assumed I didnt understand Spanish and said Im not going to waste my time arguing with her. Not sure exactly what she was trying to argue with me about. I guess she thought I was lying about my experience elsewhere. I honestly dont know what her deal was. I even told her it wasnt at this salon. She seemed irate and was short with other customers as well (I think her name was Noemi). Not very customer service friendly but seemed to be the only fluent in English. My stylist seemed to speak English fairly well so Im not sure why she was even translating. My stylist though (I think Maria was her name) was super friendly and great. I would recommend her to others.

They did a wonderful job with my hair. This was my first time getting a blowout with my natural hair perm free for over 4 years. They didnt apply to much heat it was cut evenly and professionally. I was in and out. And they have great prices. They made me feel welcomed. I recommend this place to anyone with natural hair.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and professional. The ladies do a great job of shampooing, conditioning, and styling hair. Enjoyed meeting all of the ladies.

1st experience was not that great. The place nice and clean. Went for a wash, blowout, & trim. The style came out great thats why Im giving 3 stars but my stylist was not friendly. She was not welcoming and did not hold any conversation with me. I felt I was more of a burden than a customer. She was quite rough washing my hair which is normally my favorite part of getting my hair done. She finally talked to me as she was bumping my ends. I think i may have gotten burned. My scalp is stinging. Not sure if Ill give them a second chance. If develop sores I definitely wont! *update* i developed scabs! My scalp was burned around my edges. I wish i could post a pic with this review.

So I looove this place and I love Ramona!!!! OMG! It took me so long to find a salon that cooperated with how I like my hair! They take their time to make sure that they do an amazing job, and they do! They are wonderful! I could cry of how much I love this salon! I would recommend this location to anyone! ❤️❤️❤️

I went into the salon with a sew-in (virtually no leave out) wanting a wash and curl. The prices were posted on a very small sign with almost illegible hand writing. I forgot to ask about the pricing ( big mistake) as I wasn’t even greeted with a hello, but rather a woman saying, “You want shampoo”? I shook my head yes, and was lead to the shampoo bowl. The water was cold and the woman clearly hadn’t had much experience washing a sew-in. She literally scratched the scalp of the front of my head (where the leave out was ) and lightly massages the hair under the tracks which is really what needed attention. I’d rate that wash a 1 out of 5 stars. To make a long story short, I left with half washed hair, the braids under my sewin are wet, not damp! In the end I was charged $55! This is twice the amount I’ve ever paid for a wash and curl at any Dominican salon. I will definitely never return!

My hair always looks great, but even as a regular customer they would change the price whenever they felt like it. I had enough and started going elsewhere. As a rule when going here, always ask up front during each visit what the cost will be.

I will NEVER go to back to this salon. I have very long curly hair that goes down to my butt. I had untangled it before I got there. When they washed my hair they made a HUGE knot with half of my hair. And they had the nerve to say it was my fault because I didnt tell them my hair would tangle. arent you the professional that should know long hair tangles when you dont wash it properly. She bunched up all my hair and washed it like that. I sat in that dealing for almost 2 hours trying to untangle it. Everyone there kept saying it wouldnt come out they put several products in my hair and nothing. Then one of the girls that washes hair told me to go to the beauty supply and get something to untangle it. I just left and came home and had my mother untangle it. The knot was so bad that a lot of my hair broke off. This has been the worst experience of my life DONT NOT COME TO THIS SALON!!!!!

Love it!! Im surprised to see this review below, since i have been going there for 5 years since the salon opened and have never seen the lights go out and always get good customer service. Specially from the shampoo girl. You will not be dissapointed, great salon and not everybody knows how to do my hair but they slay it everytime.

I want to tell you about the terrible experience at Salon New york on 316 Grayson Hwy and this is reason you have to watch who you employee at your Salon and why i will never step foot back in there. Yesterday Lawrenceville had a storm come through and knocked out the power. The ladies just finished washing my hair and I was in a roller set and put under dryer for 15 minutes before power went out. I am a black female with natural long hair and past my shoulders, so it is still heavily wet and would have needed to be under the dry for close to 1 1/2 hours to fully dry for it to set right or my hair would be a hot messWell after waiting for a hour with no electricity, the stylist tells me Let me take out your rollers . Just come back to tomorrow and I will finish it . I get it, they dont know when the electricity is coming back on. But at the end of the day, its still an inconvenience for the customers..As i was on my day off. During this time, the frontt desk woman/stylist is telling the other lady well you come back tomorrow i need to charge you extra $10 if i dont roller set .The customer had an issue with this because it wasnt her fault the electricity went out and they couldnt finish her hair..Why in the world would you charge a customer an extra $10 for the inconvenience, she has to come back here twice? Her hair is wet due electricity going out and her needing to get to to work on time....What happened to customer service for customers. The first desk and stylist was absolutely rude and need manners. So this lady has to come back tomorrow and pay extra money to redo her hair?Well getting back to me, I get to counter they want me to pay the full amount when my hair was partially still wet for not drying...Can you believe that? They even went up $10 more from the previous week i was there. I told her why do I pay entire $45 when you didnt complete my head? I paid them half and decided I am done with them. I will never return by how they treated myself and other customers.Anybody who reads this post, think twice before entering because the electricity goes out there A LOT and you may be in my shoes one day..Now i have to find someone else after work to do my messed up hair....They just opened up a Dominican Hair salon on Sugarloaf pkwy down the street. I will have to pay extra money for the to redo my hair..
