This doctor only wants to drain whatever he can out of your insurance. I was going to him for quite some time and he kept ordering ultrasounds, scans and unnecessary procedures that I never got follow ups on. When I was doing preop work for bariatric surgery he was given a list of required bloodwork from my surgeon and he refused to do two of those test saying he doesn’t order them. When My Wife called and stated we needed legal documentation as to why he was not going to order the tests to give to my surgeon, he then ordered the tests and dropped us both as patients. I’m so disappointed.

My experience since being treated by Dr. Muthaiah for the past 2 yrs has been very good! I feel very comfortable talking to him and he seems to know what test (if needed) to diagnose my symptoms and then prescribes for me or refers me to what specialist is needed to then treat the problem. Yes, he may be rushed because of the number of patients he sees; but I understand that and know that his patient care for me is effective and comforting. Yes, 5 stars in my book is my experience. You’ll always find some folk who just do not fully understand medical issues that Dr’s have to comply with or even agree with their methods of treatment. That will never change.Hope this review helps in Jesus Name I pray! Amen!

As an elderly-gentleman, coming up onto my 7th decade of life, I can assure you that I have lots of opinions about lots of things. As a child, my familys primary personally delivered all seven of my mothers children; was the one who slapped my bottom, so I could have my first breath; and, who squeezed my hand and wished me luck as I left home to pursue my mandatory military service, A true gentleman, to every letter! To avoid the costs of ER visits, due to the lack of walk-in medical care, with or without an appointment, I was thrilled to find Canyon Medical Center, Dr. Muthaiah and his staff. Primarily due to his advertised walk-in care, which I have not yet needed.I have been their patient for about a year now, and have no complaints, just compliments. He and every member of his staff are true professionals, ladies and gentlemen, in what they do, have always answered my questions and have never LOOKED DOWN upon me as a patient, or human being. We all have different experiences in life. There were no CT-Scans, MRIs, or other devices in medicine as a I was growing up, so my opinions are all based on my life experiences.I have been very satisfied with the services I have received from Dr. Muthaiah and Canyon Medical Center nd thank them all for the high quality of care I receive there.

My husband has been a patient since 2011 and he has been very satisfied with this doctor. Every office visit we are treated very nicely by the office staff. (Seems like a lot of turnover with the staff, but that is not my business). I always go in with him to listen to what the doctor has to say. He explains what medication he is going to prescribe and why. We totally trust his opinion, and would recommend him to all our friends and family. Thank you Dr. Muthaiah for all the care you have given him.

I should have read the reviews prior to scheduling an appointment. They all have the same concerns and issues I did! SMH Canyon Medical Center is the worst!! My first visit was with Dr Muthaiah Ramanathan, who was really nice and knowledgeable, however all other visits were done by an inexperienced Nurse Practitioner whom I did not request. The entire office overall is incompetent and unprofessional, especially the office manager. Its obvious patient care is not a priority in this office. It took 3 months for me to get my lab results that were abnormal. I would also like to add that the process for getting refills on medications that Ive been taking for years to manage my disease was by far the worst experience Ive ever encountered. Just to get anyone on the phone was a hit and miss, I called many many times leaving messages for provider over a 2 month period and never did I get a call back nor did they care to address my concerns. I would never recommend anyone to this office! Very disgusted on how they operate.

Dr. Muthaiah is a decent doctor, however his staff is extremely clueless. It’s always a struggle for them to get information, appointment dates and times correct. They are very rude when you voice a concern. Getting prescriptions refilled by phone becomes a full time job for patients because they will not pass the request on to the doctor and the pharmacy. I was scheduled for a EKG that was cancelled twice because his staff failed to report to work. When I finally reported to the appointment I totally lost it when I was told it was canceled again because I was supposedly late. I’ve tried being on my best behavior and reminding myself to have patience with his staff but His doctors office is very unprofessional and unorganized and I’ve had enough of their condescending remarks and screw ups.I have been seeing Dr. Muthaiah for 4 years and I have given up hope that his office staff will ever get it together. Save yourself the drama and do not go to Canyon Medical Center. They don’t care about the patients, it’s all about the insurance.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Muthaiah for some time now. The customer service of the office staff is awesome. Dr. Muthaiah is very concerned about your health. He makes sure that every detail about your health is taken care of and that is very hard to find in Las Vegas. I have lived here in Las Vegas all my life and have found when it comes to doctors its not easy to trust your doctor. We both trust in his judgement when it comes to out health if we need to take a test so be it Id rather be safe then sorry. I highly recommend Dr. Muthaiah to anyone looking for a excellent doctor.

The doctor is purely out to get as much insurance money as possible. Multiple EKGs scheduled for a healthy person under 30? Only writing prescriptions for 3 months at a time, despite having been on them for years already with no repercussions? Give me a break. And their billing department cant get anything straight. I received a statement for $30 saying it was already a month overdue, then no one in the billing department answered or returned my multiple calls. Now, almost a month later, I finally get someone on the phone only to find out my balance is $140? When were they planning on sending me that bill? The receptionists and other staff members are pretty good, but dont waste your time or money on this doctor. I am never going here again.**UPDATE: Bill received. So apparently eight months later is when they were planning on sending me that bill.

After I already had the appointment, never filled the script he gave me the day of the appointment. Why would I wait for another appointment, to get the same script that had never been filled. He has cared for myself and my grandparents for many years and is always very on top of taking care of our concerns and making sure that we are as healthy as we can be. He is not in the business of giving out pills like candy but instead work diligently with me on finding the right medications for my issues and was the most careful and helpful doctor in making sure my grandfather was comfortable during his 2 year fight with Stage 4 cancer. I have never had a doctor who cared so much a truly was interested in making a connection with his patients. If you want a real doctor who cares about you and your familys health. Go to Dr. Muthiah

I recently changed Drs. due to insurance issues. I am so grateful that I did. I have been suffering for over 3 years with chronic and severe nerve pain, to the point of being bed ridden. I was previously diagnosed with a rare spinal cord disease. Prior to seeing Dr Muthaiah, my Dr had to GOOGLE what the disease entailed. When I first met Dr. Muthaiah, I told him what I had been diagnosed with and he instantly knew what it was, he seemed surprised as it is not a usual diagnosis, I was so thankful he knew what it was and how to move forward. Its been 4 months and I finally have no pain after 3 years of living in daily high levels of pain. I feel like a real person again. His followup has been amazing as well. THANK YOU !

First the good: The office was clean, wait time minimal, rates are reasonable, and the front office staff were very friendly and helpful. The bad: I am a retired nurse of 20 years, so it is always surprising and disappointing to encounter medical personnel with poor/inadequate medical knowledge and lacking bedside manner. Both the doctor here and his nurse were extremely curt, rude, and lacking in even basic medial knowledge. I was not there for pain medication, I needed antibiotics - not a lecture. If you are sick, in pain, have an infection, or any other kind of acute medical problem, save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

I recently emailed for a script. I waited 4 days with nothing from the office or the pharmacy. When I called to check in, they told me, You should have x amount of refills available, you need to call the pharmacy. I told them that I have the script bottle and have called the pharmacy and I have zero refills available. Apparently they dont believe me. And instead of calling me to say that, they didnt contact me at all. They said they would go ahead and take care of it. A day later and I called the pharmacy to see if they had indeed received the request. They had not. I had to call the Dr. office AGAIN. Its ridiculous and I am changing Drs. These are not pain meds. These are daily maintenance prescriptions.

If I could give negative stars I would. Muthaiah Ramanathan and Canyon Medical Center, are the WORST doctor/primary Ive ever had. First off, he put me on medication I shouldnt even be taking at all. Gives me an insulin pill.. thats not even insulin, then puts me on anxiety meds/sleep meds that are for people who have not succeeded with other lower dosed meds, and puts me on a very high dose of these meds (which by the way, are commonly known to be exceptionally hard to come off of.)I had numerous arguments with his staff over not sending in Pre-auth forms for other medications, that they said they did. Both my pharmacy and insurance assured me they did not. 6 weeks after seeing him the first time and constantly calling and battling them for meds, I spoke with their supervisor who is just a glorified billings person. We all know I curse when speaking, so the glorified money handler told me I needed to stop that or shed hang up, and said it takes 2 weeks to get medication (what???) and I needed to call my insurance to figure out what meds they can provide me with (excuse me? i have to do your job?)So at the end of the conversation the glorified idiot said the doctor said if youre going to be rude to HIS girls, you are no longer welcome here, all because I needed life saving medications and they were not providing them??This doctor isnt well groomed, his facility is full of very rude, exceptionally bad vibed staff and his nurse Practitioner can barely form a sentence long enough for anyone to understand her. Hes in it for insurance money, thats it, thats all. Beware.

Dr. Muthaiah has treated my wife and myself. In particular, my wife has been going to him for the past two years. In our opinion, Dr. Muthaiah is a pill pusher, certainly not a listener. But the biggest issue is his staff. Quite possibly the rudest staff ever. The kicker was last week when my wife went in for a scheduled appointment for an ultrasound. The girl at the front desk told my wife flat out that she DID NOT have an appointment. My wife then showed her the card that that same girl wrote out, basically she couldnt care less. Then the girl told my wife she could wait if she wanted. After telling my wife that she then turned to a co-worker and said something to her in Spanish, so rude. So, we are on our way today to tell the staff what they can do with their attitude and hopefully speak to the DR to tell him what we think.WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GUY TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU ARE JUST THERE TO NOT BE LISTENED TOO.

This has been the worst medical service I have experienced in my entire life. I had called Canyon Medical Center previous to confirm that the services I need (a doctors note with specific wording to use for a student visa application) and the receptionist I spoke to over the phone confirmed that the note could be written (after I read her both the directions and the sample letter verbatim over the phone) and even told me to print out the sample note for the doctor to look at. I even emailed them the specific directions and sample medical letter, but I did not get a response. Once I arrived and met with Dr. R. MUTHAIAH M.D. and showed him the directions and sample letter from the government consult, and noted that a specific line NEEDS to be in the letter or else my application would be rejected, he told me, quote, I dont know what the hell this is or what the 2005 International Health Regulations are.First of all, I am not a doctor. If I, a regular person, do not know what international regulations are, why dont you? I even pulled up the regulations on my phone and he told me hes not reading an 80 page document. I came in with the expectation that I would need to get blood work done to confirm that I do not have any infectious diseases, and he told me that he did not know what would need to be tested and reccomend that I get a pap smear and tried to schedule one. I refused because I have a differ GYNO doctor. Basically he did not take the time to understand what I needed from him and blew me off. Again, how do you not know what the international health regulations of 2005 are if you are a doctor?I complained to the receptionist about my service, and both the doctor and the blonde receptionist were extremely rude and condescending. Ive never been so disrespected before and I would not reccomend this medical facility to anyone. I asked them why they told me they could write this note (with the wording used in the sample) over the phone, but not know what it was when I showed up. I also asked how do you know what blood work needed to get done to meet the international health regulations of 2005 if you do not know what that is. They said I refused the blood work, but they did not tell me what blood work needed to get done, which again, he would know if he knew what the regulations were. On top of that, the doctor snatched the note from me with tremendous force with an attitude. In addition to being extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude, he clearly did not know what he was doing as a doctor. On top of that, the floors were dirty and there were ugly, unprofessional fans in the patient nursing area on the floor. Dr. R. MUTHAIAH M.D. should not be a health care provider with his cold, uncaring attitude.

I wish with all of my heart I could give this man and his horrendous practice zero stars. I wish I could have sued him, if Im going to be completely honest. I used to see Dr Muthaiah. I was deeply despressed. He put me on several different kinds of antidepressants, which I expected, to try and find the right one for me. After we found one that worked, he kept upping my dose. Even after I told him I was feeling great on a lower dose. He told me if I didnt take the higher dose I cannot get better. Now I was extremely uncomfortable upping an already incredibly high dose, but I did as my doctor told me because I was so desperate to stop my despression. Well, fast forward just a few days... I am in a psych ward, by my own choice mind you, because I felt I was a danger to myself. Come to find out by not one, or two, or three... But FOUR different doctors told me I was lucky to be alive on the dose I was given. I am 54 and was 100 pounds at the time and was given a dose for a man 4x my size. I was told several times that I was lucky to have admitted myself when I did or it could have been detrimental to my health. Not only did this crock of a doctor put me on doses I did NOT need to be on, but he had the nerve to put me on medications I did not need to be on. For things I had never had symptoms for in my life. This man had the audacity to yell at me and tell me I was a stupid girl who didnt know what she was talking about. This fraud needs his license revoked and he needs to be thrown out of any practice or hospital within 10,000 miles of any human being. He does not deserve the title Dr. He deserves to have his practice shut down. And on a side note, his receptionist people are some of the most unkind, rude, and unprofessional women I have ever met.
