The worst bedside manner. Sends you home the same day (knee replacement) with no instructions for a lay person to keep you comfortable (pain wise) and care for you properly. It’s been six months since my surgery, and still can’t sleep through the night for the pain. He has no explanation?

Ive had a full hip replacement surgery back in May of 2020. This was decades in the making. I found Dr Burke as a referral from my primary. I went for my initial consult and from that first moment, I felt comfortable. Dr Burke is VERY easy to talk to, he listens and takes the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. The surgery was amazing! There was NO PAIN. Not afterwards. Was it uncomfortable? Sure, for a few days. He had me out of the hospital the SAME DAY and my physical therapy started the very next day. Ive followed the regimen and have gotten back my life! My quality of life has improved 1,000 times over and I couldnt be happier!!His office staff is AMAZING!The bone on bone pain was gone INSTANTLY from when I woke in the recovery room and every day I get stronger and gain a bit more mobility! It has now been just over 3 months, after another follow up and Dr Burke couldnt be happier with the results. I had to hug him for giving me back my life! I have already and would continue to recommend him for anyone needing an Ortho Surgeon!

I am so thrilled with my total hip replacement surgery by Dr. Burke. I was walking with no aid and climbing stairs the day of the surgery. It has been only 2 weeks today and I have been walking over 10,000 steps a day for 4 days. I attribute my wonderful recovery to Dr. Burkes surgical skill and to my physical therapist Steve.

Dr. Burke did hip replacement surgery on my left hip in January, 2020 due to osteoarthritis. Im a relatively healthy 53 year old man. Dr. Burke used a minimally invasive posterior approach. The whole experience has gone fantastic. I was referred to Dr. Burke by my GP - I then did my due diligence just to make sure he had a good reputation - My brother-in-law is a malpractice attorney in Tampa and checked him out and gave Dr. Burke the thumbs up. The procedure went well - The plan was to do a spinal regional anesthetic, but the injection didnt work on me. They did general anesthetic which went fine. The staff at St. Anthonys are remarkably professional and nice. Dr. Burkes staff at his office are super helpful - especially Sarah who arranged my preoperative clearance, appointments, and insurance authorization. My recuperation has gone well. I left the hospital after one night, used a walker for a few days, used a cane for about two weeks, I was able to fly home to Cartagena, Colombia in 3 weeks. Now its been 5 weeks and I am walking up 4 flights of stairs to my apartment without a problem! Thanks to Dr. Burke and his staff for helping me on my way to returning to an active lifestyle!

Dr Burke and his staff were just awesome and very professional. I cant be anymore grateful...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you !!!

Dr Burke is one of the best physicians Ive encountered in a very long time. Dr Burke is knowledgeable, caring, and very understanding to the needs of his patients. The wait time is always minimal which is a plus. He always comes in the room with a smile on his face, and is eager and ready to answer all questions. I would highly recommend him to any of my family and friends.

Dr. Burke and his staff are professional, knowledgeable, very caring, always available, and great patient educators and advocates. He did his best to salvage my knee meniscus after I was hit by a car, but I needed an injection of stem cells to literally put me back on my feet again. Im an RN and I was skeptical, I am so happy that I followed his advice in getting this procedure! What a difference it has made. He thoroughly educated me about the procedure, product, what to expect, and the injection was painless. I am so fortunate to have Dr. Burke and his staff treating me.

I went to Dr Burke a few years ago for my left carpal tunnel. I had the right done a few years before that by the Dr that workers comp gave me and he did my knee, elbow, right carpal tunnel and shoulder. I liked him but as I told the lady I just talked to, when they took off the bandage after surgery, it opened up immediately! That scared me a lot. When he did my shoulder it left one deep, very noticeable scar! When Dr. Burke did my other wrist I asked him if the scar would be as good as the right,(not too bad but a definite one inch line). He said it would be better! He was right! I can barely see a faint quarter inch! Much, much better! He is very personable, knows what hes doing and what will happen after surgery. He made a good impression to me and Im glad to say that he takes my insurance! Ill be happy to see him after my primary care Dr and the referral come through. I know that hell help me with my pain and my intolerance to the normal pain medicines! The other Dr just kept giving me the kind that did not help my stomach. See you soon Dr Burke.

Im a country boy who loves the great outdoors. I was an avid fisherman, runner, biker, gold, baseball and tennis player. However, as I grew older my knees would not allow me to enjoy most of those activities. I put off the knee replacement surgery thinking about the pain and rehab. Stupid me, right? I finally had it done with Dr. Burke. I dont know why I hadnt done it sooner. In five short months, Im back to my old active ways, save the extreme sports. The knee pain is gone, the scar is barely noticeable and Im a happy camper thanks to Dr. Burkes expertise. The rehab folks gave him very high marks!

My 40 year old total knee reconstruction had an issue this past week and so I found myself a new patient with Dr. Burke. In short, I am grateful to call Dr. Burke my new orthopedic doctor. I appreciate his 1 on 1 patient model vs. a super group with a huge lobby and long lines. This approach made for an excellent experience from start to finish: fast initial appointment time; no wait time on initial visit or follow up visits (in fact he saw me early); gorgeous office, et al.More importantly, I appreciate Dr. Burke’s professionalism, expertise and direct and congenial bedside manner. If you need an orthopedic doctor, take it from a born and raised local guy who has had 4 previous joints worth of experience, Dr. Burke knows his stuff and will treat you right.

Dr. Burke took my case because All Florida Orthopaedic was just using me as a pay check. Dr. Burke never once treated me like I was there for him to make a pay check. He was outgoing and gave me Great Care in and out of the hospital. He came to see me two to three times in two days. He is a very caring Doctor. I had to have a total hip replacement and I am on 49 years old.And my hip was the hardest and worst hip that Dr. Burke had ever seen in all his years of being an Orthopaedic surgeon. And now Im in hardly any pain at all .Thanks Very Much Dr. BurkeJohn Richardson..

I ruptured my ACL in May 2018 while overseas. I went to see Dr. Burke as a second opinion after having already scheduled surgery with another surgeon. I called for an appointment on a Thursday, explained my situation and that I was desperately seeking a second opinion. They scheduled me the very next day. Walking into Dr. Burke’s office, I already knew that I was in a better place. The staff is so kind and welcoming. Dr. Burke spent at least 35 minutes with me going over every detail related to my injury. He sat down next to me, pulled out a knee model & actually showed me exactly what was going on. He then gave me options! (My previously scheduled surgeon spent less than 5 minutes over 2 visits & never gave me options!). Dr. Burke has the best bedside manner & I knew that I was in not only in the hands of a great surgeon, but in the hands of a doctor who truly cares about his patient’s outcomes.I opted for surgery on June 28, 2018 & I’m now 8.5 weeks post-op and in physical therapy twice weekly. I could not be more grateful for Dr. Burke and his staff!! He has given me my mobility and quality of life back, as I’m now walking crutch free and every day I’m making strides. I will be forever grateful for B2 Orthopedics.

This was my second rotator cuff surgery. Dr. Burke was kind and seemed knowledgeable. After surgery I started therapy after the appropriate time. Immediately my shoulder showed signs of a bad repair. It was painful after 4 weeks of therapy. My therapist suggested I see my doctor, that something was not right. When I saw Dr.Burke about it he dismissed the pain issue. He only said my ROM(range of motion) was great and continue therapy. My repair FAILED the next week. When I asked Dr. Burke what we should do now? His response was theres nothing I can do for you I just had my third rotator cuff surgery done by another doctor where cadaver tendon had to be used. The new surgeon stated he had never seen the anchors that were used in the repair and that there were not enough sutures in the previous repair. I will only get 80 percent of my ROM back. Thank God for people who donate their bodies. I thought Dr Burke was a stand up guy. It turns out he turns tail instead. I do not recommend him if your case is at all complicated or if its a second repair. Its a shame when surgeons preform surgeries beyond their capabilities .

My wife is an ARNP so researched every orthopedic surgeon and facility. We finally selected Dr Burke and could not have made a better decision. He is very personable, knowledgeable and readily accessible.. Always answered all our questions ( my wife usually had about 20 questions.) His office staff was great too Camisha and Sarah. From the moment we arrived at St Anthonys every single member of staff called us by our first name and introduced themselves. All the nurses and Physical therapists were excellent. I had no complications in surgery and so far my recovery has been very fast. Im already onto a cane from a walker and did 14 stairs today and its only been 6 days. I highly recommend both Dr Burke and St Anthonys . I had a total hip replacement.

I was referred to this dr from Saint Anthony’s Hospital, after waiting for a 2 week appointment and being in consistent pain he did absolutely nothing. He spent only 4 mins in the room with me and couldn’t answer any of my questions about the symptoms I was having. He shows no compassion for his patients. Not sure why he’s in the medical field because he shows no signs of care. Decided not to give me any medication but said I need therapy. I’m sure I’ll received a big bill for no answers, no meds, no thank you I hope you feel or get better. I don’t know why he’s located on central ave, I guess because the looks of the building. He should be located by a grave yard somewhere. If I could give this dr 0 stars I would. His staff is more caring than he is. I could only imagine how there treated. Please don’t waste your time, energy or money with him. It’s not worth it. See a different dr. I wish I would have googled him before I made the appointment.

I located Dr, Burke for a 2nd opinion after seeing an ortho that wanted to jump to a TKR. That was scary for me and I wanted to do further research. After meeting Dr. Burke & his staff I was happy with my decision to use him for my knee issues. We talked things over & he reviewed MRIs I had and assurred me he could repair my meniscus. I was thrilled....we spoke about PRP and doing a laparoscopy for my knee was the way to go. WELL...that being said from here all went downhill :( After the Lap Dr Burke let me know he could not do the PRP or repair my meniscus because it was shredded.....well didnt you already say it was fine? You even showed me the MRI indicating it was. After this I was in constant pain which I feel was made worse from that procedure. I feel like Dr Burke was not totally honest with me so from here I had to make the decision to get a partial knee replcement. I was not very happy & scared as well. Dr. Burke said my pain would go away & Id be back to normal in six months to a year. It has been 13 weeks since my surgery and I am still in pain :( I cannot bend my knee fully which the PT people keep saying I should.....I have swelling, pain, water, brusiing, burning, and warm skin on the knee. I have decided to take on other measures to ensure there is no further concerns as well any bateria infection on the bone. My apologies for making this so long but I thought being percise in my explanation was best. I chose Dr. Burke because he made me comfortable.....until after the surgery was done. Once I left the hospital I have never heard from him showing any compassion. I reached out by telephone and by email getting back an OKAY answer. My concern is that with compassion and my continuing issues you would think Dr. Burke would be further concerned as well. What if I do have an infection, what if the part is defective, what if my body is rejecting this part? I wanted to share this on reviews because in the past I have not done reviews and people end up always giving 5 stars. Currently, I am waiting to get a new MRI done with many prayers that there is not something seriously wrong.
