A good friend of mine visited the Bay Area Heart Center and was seen by Dr. A Patel. For the following reasons I would never trust this office for my care:- The nurses were rude and rushed preparing her for the Drs exam. They actually told her they were rushing because the Dr. had to leave. That is not friendly, caring service- it’s unprofessional. It is not of concern to the patient what may be happening behind the scenes.- The Dr. himself was condescending, sarcastic, and demeaning. My friend was at the office to obtain a cardiac clearance for a surgical procedure. He actually had the nerve to chastise her for having a surgery done at this time. He is lucky I was not there because I would have immediately spoken with him regarding his sub par bedside manner. My friend is too nice and said nothing. She called me after almost in tears as she accounted her visit with this Dr.- She did all the testing that he required in a timely fashion. She advised him and his staff of her scheduled surgical appointment and was assured her paperwork would be in order and faxed to her surgeon.- She traveled all the way to Miami to begin her pre-op visit with surgery to shortly follow. Her surgeon in Miami did not receive any of the test results, office notes, or clearance that were promised. She called Bay Area several times requesting the information be sent post haste. No response. The surgeon in Miami called repeatedly and they did not receive the documents. The surgery was cancelled.- We are medical professionals as well. We also have patients to see. Our schedules were adjusted accordingly, plans were made, and staff coverage was obtained. Those of you in medical know this is no small feat.In summation, I would not entrust care for myself, family, nor would I refer a patient to this practice. Medicine, is sometimes referred to as business, as it were. If I had the option of rating this office a -10, I would have. Some do not realize when we visit a Dr, we are hiring them for our care. I do. If I had been a patient of Dr. Patels, I would have fired him on the spot. From start to finish, this office did not deliver stellar care. Competitively speaking, that is necessary as there are many cardiology offices to choose from. I only wish Dr. Patel good luck in the future. I would also hope that he may learn to treat his patients the way he would care for his own family. Patients visit Dr.s when they are most vulnerable. I would never, ever have treated a patient this way. I go above and beyond to make patients comfortable and to put them at ease. I strive to be certain that patients have what they need- prescriptions, paperwork, surgical instructions, and peace of mind. Overall experience, unacceptable.

My wife and I had a great visit. The doctor answers all our questions to our satisfaction. We have decided to have my surgery with your doctors if possible, after they evaluate my aorta scan. If their answer is yes, then I will have them perform the surgery instead of the doctor at the University Of South Florida.

Bay Area Heart Center has the best doctors in the United States. They found and fixed all the problems with my heart, that no other doctor could. From the moment you walk into the door, the personal greets you with respect. From the check in to the staff that makes all the arraignments in the hospital. The staff that makes arrangements for the next appointment will make it to fit your time frame. They are just wonderful people to work with. I highly recommend Bay Area Heart Center to anyone who has a problem with there heart. Thank You so much Doctor Tas and Doctor Gandhi and your staff for all youve done for me. Sincerely Lyle Haggerty Largo Florida.

After my Pacemaker, which cured an abnormally slow heartbeat, I had a second ablation to cauterize nerve endings in the upper chambers of my heart. This was to cure Atrial Fibrillation. No more Afib now. Dont need to take blood thinners. Now I feel terrific. No more dizziness when bending and rising quickly. No more swelling of my ankles when sitting. I ride my bike for at least an hour every day. My strength and breath are better every day. Modern medicine is amazing. I thank Dr. Gandhi for his extreme skill and Dr. Pandya and Mazan Beljic, my cardiologist and his NP for discovering the problems.

I originally saw Dr Nicolas Codolosa when I was in the hospital in May of this year. I was admitted because of an ongoing (since December of 2015) cardiac issue that no dr has been able to figure out.Dr Codolosa told me that once I was discharged he would order a 30 day monitor & if that didnt yield any answers, he would implant a monitoring device that hopefully would.I had to wait almost 1 month to get an appointment & didnt even get to see him. I ended up seeing 1 of his partners who spent less than 5 minutes with me & told me that he had never heard of anything like I was describing but would order the 30 day monitor anyway. He made me feel like just because he never heard of the symptoms I was describing...that I was lying. When I went to check out & make a follow up appointment for Dr Codolosa I was told he was booked out 3 months. I understand how busy drs are but thats absolutely ridiculous! When I went for my follow up appointment he told me that nothing was wrong with my heart & that I should seek psychiatric help. When I reviewed 1 of the event recorder strips with him & said if theres nothing wrong why did my heart rate drop 20 beats & why does the EKG look the way it does (it was all over the place)? He told me it was artifact from moving. Ive dealt with cardiac issues for almost 24 years & the 1 thing I know is not to move when recording. The other thing is that while I was in the ER, back in May, I had 2 episodes of whats been going on since December of 2015. Each time my heart rate dropped by 20 beats & the EKG was all over the place WHILE I WAS COMPLETELY STILL!! I can make a lot of stuff up but not that & how the hell would I cause my heart rate to drop by 20 beats?!?!After reviewing my event recording findings & having him tell me nothing was wrong/showing up, I asked him about the implantable loop (I think thats what he called it...a loop). He told me that it wasnt necessary because 1. It would have to remain in my body for a few years (he originally told me a few weeks) & 2. He told me to see a psychiatrist...essentially telling me it was all in my head.I sat there crying & begging him to implant the loop. I have insurance, Im willing to have it in me for a few years. I just cant take the pain anymore...its excruciating!!He told me he wouldnt do it & that if Id like my records to be faxed to another Dr for a 2nd opinion...he would do that.Ive had this issue for almost 2 years & I waited 3 months to basically be told it was all in my head.NO, I do not have anxiety. NO, Im not crazy.Im sick & I honestly thought he was going to help me.He talks a good talk but cant walk the walk.I wasted 3 months of my life in excruciating pain when I could have been going to someone else. I wouldnt recommend Dr Codolosa if he was the last Dr on earth & as far as his staff...both of the receptionists at the St Pete & Largo locations need classes in customer service, especially the woman in Largo. She was rude to me & the other patient in there. I even overheard her & another woman (who was sitting behind her) complaining about the other patient. The other woman said what do they want from you, youre only doing your job. You can think what you want but if patients are right in front of you, you need to control your mouth!
