Dr. Sher has helped me tremendously. He explained why I am experiencing the symptoms and has helped me alleviate them. But the best part is that he accepts insurance. I went to a doctor in New York a few years ago when the problem began and it cost me over $5,000 out of pocket. I wish I would have known about Dr. Sher then. Dr. Sher changed my life dramatically and because of that I highly recommend his practice. I had literally had a cough for more than 30 years and frequently could not have a conversation due to it. Because my vocation moved my family and me to several cities, I have seen countless doctors: Primary Care Doctors, allergists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, chiropractors, holistic doctors and even acupuncturists. I have been coughing for 21+ years. It started with just a seasonal cough that lasted from November through March or April. That lasted about 10 years. It gradually went to year round coughing during the day but no cough at night. Eventually, it went to 24 hours a day coughing even while sleeping. I would cough at least twice a minute every minute of the day. My coughing got so bad that it led to a seizure (cough syncope). I went to many local doctors to try to get relief. My local family doctor, an ENT, a gastrointestinal ( I had a minor success with this one but one sickness made it worse than ever.), a neurologist, and a pulmonologist. I’ve been coughing for almost 15+ years now. It seemed to have started after my lung cancer operation. In addition to my primary doctor, I’ve been to two Gastroenterologists, an ENT specialist, a Pulmonologist, and a Cardiologist and was still coughing. I was about to give up and just accept it as a new addition to my life, but then I was referred to Dr Sher and his Center for Cough. Dr. Sher is extremely thorough and doesnt miss anything or any detail. He is very caring and picks up on things that sometimes other doctors will miss. Having procrastinated long enough, it was time to finally see a physician about my breathing issues. I was sure it was asthma, but feared it could be something worse. Dr Sher and his team are amazing! Ive been to see an Internist, two ENT docs and two different pulmonary docs and had ZERO success.Dr Sher was detailed and has great bed-side manners which many MDs lack -- and I for one was very happy as to how open and honest he was about my diagnosis and condition. After two visits I am well on my way to recovery after a one year + very difficult bout with chronic cough. I passed out a dozen times (twice while driving) and nobody could give me answers.
