I would not recommend the Shah Center in Laredo, we had to wait in three different waiting areas as you advanced to see the doctor. It was well over 4 hours, plus another hour to fit my son for his contacts. At the end they ordered the wrong lens 🤦‍♀️ I’m sorry I never write negative reviews but had to put it out there.

This is a very friendly staff and excellent customer service! Everyone is super nice and wonderful! Especially Priscilla she has a very excellent customer service and answers all the questions you have or might wanna ask! I recommend you all to go to Dr.Shah Eye Center y’all won’t regret a thing!❤️ Thank you to Dr.Shah, Priscilla and all the staff for making my appointment quick and easy!

I went for a routine eye exam 7 months ago. I paid the copay given to me at the end of the visit in FULL. Apparently there was $9 my insurance didnt pay that I wasnt aware of. Shah eye center then decides to send me a few letters in the mail, no phone calls or emails. The letter has instructions to mail a check or money order to them, no online payment portal or anything. You would think if the $9 was that important theyd have a better way to contact their patients or obtain payment, but they dont. This past month I got a call and a letter that my $9 debt had gone to collections. If you have to do business with them be very cautious with your bill. Even if it is less than $10 that you owe, AFTER you already paid your copay, they will go after you and not your insurance company. I knew COVID was impacting businesses bad, but I didnt know it was this bad. Id give them less than 1 star if I could.Also, the wait was over an hour long and the doctor sat less than 2 feet away from my face and was wearing his mask as a chin protector.

Very nice and clean office as you walk in. The nurses were friendly and professional. They helped us out tremendously. My father came in pretty much blind from years of wearing glasses and having diabetes. When we left the lasik surgery on our way home he was so excited to see he was reading the license plate numbers to me all the way home. This has made his quality of life unmeasurably better. I highly recommend seeing them if you need eye care.

The staff has been very cordial and informative. Theyve gone out of their way to make sure I understand everything in detail. Im so thankful for how helpful all of the staff have been, particularly Gabby.

Would not recommend this place. Took 2hrs for routine eye exam for glasses and that was with appointment waited 45 mins to be taken back, another 45 mins to be seen by Optometrist. And the Optometrist did not clean hands or wear gloves. The front desk and Opti tech were very nice tho.

The staff is very helpful and friendly and there was no long waiting time which is a plus. I would Definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

A shame I cant do a negative review, I took my grandpa to his appointment at 9am and the doctor wasnt in the office until 1pm! I was extremely upset because my grandpa and I are waiting outside due to COVID-19 (which is understandable) but for over 4 hours of waiting; that is ridiculous and unprofessional. The staff isnt even better, there is no communication on their side whatsoever. They wasted a huge part of my time and I dont have the luxury of having days off but this was totally unacceptable, I understand if we have to wait 30 minutes or an hour but I made this appointment early so I have time to do other errands. If you want a doctor that will respect your time and appointment, I recommend looking for another doctor. I just felt horrible for my grandpa because he couldnt take his medicine on time and that medicine he has to take it with food.

The staff were patient and kind with my mother who was there to get a cataract removed and thanks to them she is now able to see and read again! They have also continued to work with her after the surgery to make sure she is recovering well and I am grateful for this.

I am a patient at Shah Eye Center at the Laredo location, I went in for an eye exam and I was so happy with their professionalism, I went in for a normal check up and the staff found out the issue I had almost immediately. Love this place. They help from start to finish and take all the insurance companies so it was easy to get seen by Dr., get prescription, and beautiful glasses.

I loved how they explained in detail what my son had and how they told me to just come in if my son would get any worse symptoms. The optical was so quick to attend us. I loved it.

I took my daughter for an eye exam cause she had an eye problem. the staff were very nice and patient with my daughter cause she wouldnt be still when they were checking her eyes. the doctor was also patient and nice to my daughter.

Dr. Gandy is very helpful with explaining the lasik procedure and dr. Shah was beyond great in helping me adjust with my complicated schedule. The staff there is very nice and wait time was little to none when making appointments!

Its sad that this doctor gets recommended by other doctors but unfortunately the service is horrible. My wait has been 1 1/2 hours and probably longer if I would stuck around. If anyone needs a specialist, go out of town. I definitely am. Dont get me wrong, maybe he is a good doctor but he should change his service where he can manage his patients more efficiently. Having this type of service will definitely hurt his business.

Called Dr. Shahs office in Laredo on 7/23, they set up an appointment for me to get evaluated on 7/25 @ 4:30p.m. I called the day of the appointment to confirm the time just to find out they had no record of me calling nor did I have an appointment set. They told me he could still see me at 4:30... would you trust somebody like this to operate on the only set of eyes you have? Very disappointed and would recommend to everyone to be very careful in considering this office.

The costumer service horrible I had issues with them filling out medical leave papers, appointments and insurance. They are in capable of filling out insurance medical papers properly it took three different people and applications and caused many issues with my work due to unprofessionalism on shah eye center. Appointments are not respected an apontment for 1:00 can turn into a 3 hour wait time. Lastly the coverage from the insurance they offer is not respected either after going over plans and them saying lubricating droops are covered we only got generic brand coupons that aren’t even accepted by all retailers.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU NEED A SPECIALIST! If you want to schedule an appointment for contacts there is only one doctor that goes every other week, only on certain days, to see patients for contacts. And on that note, he only sees you for like 5 minutes because the medical assistant does all his work. If you schedule your appointment at 8:30 AM be aware that the doctor does not get there till 9:00AM...and that there is already 10 people waiting for him. So you get out of there at 11:30 AM and are not able to see because your eyes are dilated. It also seems that they only have one person in charge of ordering contacts and when you call to find out the status on your order, no one seems to know what is going on. It took me more than a month to get mine. The staff may be nice and sweet, but the service sucks.

If I could rate my two experiences at Shah Eye Center as a zero, I certainly would. First, I have been wearing glasses since age 6, and I am 32 years old, and I know when something is wrong with my prescription.Jonathan Gandy administered my exam, and issued me my prescription, which I then took to a Walmart Eye Center in Laredo to get filled. Once my new glasses were in at Walmart, and upon first putting them on, I noticed how unstable I felt, and how out of focus everything was. I continued to wear the glasses, hoping that the issues would subside, but they didnt. Eventually, I had to go back to using my old glasses, because I was unable to read words on objects around the house, from a close distance.After a few weeks with my new glasses from the presciption I received at Shah, I went back to Shah to ask them if there had been a mistake with my prescription. Jonathan Gady checked the prescription on my new glasses, and said everything was fine, and offered to re-do my eye exam.He claimes that he was trying to get my prescription more towards my old prescription which I said I felt I saw better with, but he told me that he just couldnt do it, because according to my exam, my prescription was what he administered to me. He made me feel crazy, and his answers were not helpful. He told me that the reason I felt I saw better with my old prescription was because I was use to them more. Then, he told me that I needed to wear my new glasses for a month before I adjusted. They were making me feel sick, literally.Fast-forward six months, and I visited another eye doctor, who gave me answers, and didnt make me feel dumb for being unable to see out of my new glasses.Turns out, the curvature of my new lenses was a 2, while I need and use a 1.5, which Gandy should have obviously seen was on my old glasses, amd checked. Another issue was that my prescription on my left eye was completely off, and the new doctor I saw told my himself that my prescription is almost the same as my old prescription! I knew it, all the while Mr.Gandy was telling me it wasnt, and gave me the wrong prescription TWICE, caused me a lot of out of the way running around, and to the point of needing to get a second opinion, which isnt cheap. Not to mention, I needed new glasses, AGAIN.I really dont understand how this happend in a place that seemed professional, and whose staff is certified. It was a very bad experience, and concerns me for any of their future patients. If anything, I hope my experience causes others to question weather or not they want to go to Shah for an eye exam, because I experiences a myriad of problems there.

I set an appointment 38 days in advance and they set it in Mission when I told them Im from another city. When I call to confirm they said the Dr. was not going to be available to see me here at my city, only the tech. because I schedule my appt on the 27 and the 29 they change the Dr. schedule yet they didnt call me to advise.But wanted me to reschedule for another week later.
