A place to come if you want to better your life. Its your choice. I came in here back in 2004 this was my last treatment facility of many throughout my life. I am now regaining my life back slowly but surely. Your progress determines your success ,its your life and recovery. Change is possible and God is good.

First off I have to say that this is the most horrid place I have ever been to. It is run down, broken and overall gross. They advertise to people saying that they are a duo diagnoses place, and that they have specialists that help you. That is an absolute lie. They do no kind of vetting whatsoever and basically take random people off of the street. All that Carol Glass and her partner Patricia care about is making an extra dollar. This place has no interest in your well being, nor does it care where the money comes from as long as they get it. There is no special program that they run. Their specialists are just other people that are sober but have no certifications or schooling towards mental health or addiction counseling. They have no respect towards any kind of boundaries, and will kick someone out of their program when they feel like it. But only AFTER they have collected rent from you. They make you work for their firework stand and other things as a requirement of living there. Even if you have a full time job. Also, the other good comments about this place are basically lies that Carol and the Glass House bribe others to place. Its been around for 13 years and has the worst reputation in all of Lancaster. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

If you desperately need a place to stay and you have money because they charge $300 a week to share a bedroom with one possibly two other people per bedroom one kitchen two bathrooms only one worked basement had a washer and dryer in it for your convenience but the floor has about a half inch of shity water and it stinks. They let people who knowingly use drugs live in the same home as mothers with their children who are working and trying truly struggling to get on their own two feet and they have to live with people who are overdosing. And the people who own the place dont even come to check make a phone call hey help we have an overdose we already called the nine-one-one theyre on their way what should we do answer was from the owner o give me a call let me know whats going on Ill see you tomorrow goodnight! Wow could you even care any less accept the fact of getting your money every freaking month. Roaches in the houses!!!!!!! It was so cold in November that you had to sleep with gloves on and a hat underneath your blankets it was crazy you have to supply your own food make your own food everyone has to get along well enough to supply toiletries for the house it is not even close to being well maintained I dont know how the health department and the Housing Authority do not shut this place down not one word of what I have just said is a lie

I have been a resident of the Glass House for over a year. When I moved in was very uncertain about where I was going. However, Carol helped me feel quite comfortable in a short time. Glass House gave me stability and a roof over my head. I could stand up and complete my degree, as of May 2017 I have earned a BA Creative Writing and English w/concentration in fiction writing. The Glass House has gone through many changes and setbacks. Therefore, with every setback lessons were learned and forward movement entailed. Every program is different as any recipient can take away whatever they put into it. For any program to work honest effort needs to be given. If you or someone you know needs stability, and a roof over head, I recommend the Glass House.

I lived in one of the four homes that comprise Glass House Inc. I lived there for seven months last year. The experience changed my life. Before I moved into the program I had been battling alcoholism for about five years. It seemed no matter what I did I could not get myself to stop drinking. I lost everything. I lost my house, my car, all of my material belongings. I even had to give up my dogs and cat. I lost my self respect and my dignity. I gave up on myself and on my life. Every time I thought Id hit rock bottom yet another lower rock bottom appeared. I thought it was the end of the road for me. In a year and a half I spent 30 days in rehab twice. I was in intensive care seven times and involuntarily committed to a psychiatric unit five times. All because of alcohol. Then on my last stay in the hospital I met a woman who lived in the Glass House and she told me all about the program. I spoke with Glass House staff members and before I knew it I was accepted into the program. And I was scared. I was afraid I would not fit in, that I was too old, and I was afraid I would not be able to buckle down and follow house rules. On my first day I was so scared that I could barely talk. The program staff person who was working with me took one look at me and said You can relax. We are going to take good care of you. And that is exactly what they did. I have been sober for nine months. Living in the program and receiving lots of support from staff and my housemates made it possible for me to complete my goals and keep on the right track. I no longer isolate myself, and I found out that I really enjoy living with other people instead of living alone. When I left the program I took with me something I never expected. The people who live in the Glass House program come from all walks of life. The one thing everyone has in common is that every person there has gone through some difficult times. Everyone brings their own experiences and skills to the table. You learn from each other. You help each other and you grow. And you form life long friendships and bonds. I can honestly say that I love the staff at the Glass House and I love my housemates. Living in the Glass House program gave me back my life. I am a better person from living there. And I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of such a great program. Thank you to everyone involved with Glass House Inc. I would higly recommend the program to anyone who seriously wants to get and keep their lives on track. The skills you learn while you are in the program not only help you in the present; they also pave the way for a better and brighter future.

Stay away from the Lancaster, PA location! The woman in charge has a habit of kicking people out without warning or reason. There is no counselor on site or supervision. There are no human services available as claimed. She will want money up front, cash and bank account numbers. BEWARE! The houses are moldy, smelly and lack fire detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. The plumbing leaks. The residents get away with stealing from each other, including food. The rooms lack heat!!STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

I worked for them and lived there for a few weeks. They acted like everything was fine until they fired me because of a poor fit without notice, no meetings before that... they are sheisty...wanted me off the property the next morning. I had no other place to live so I moved to my car. They knew that. They act like they care about people but its really just the money. I saw the idolatry for money in their eyes, words, and heart. Do NOT recommend. Their are MUCH more compassionate people out there who wont bust your balls for money and threaten evictions like parents threaten time outs while power tripping, like these women...STAY AWAY

I use to live on New Holland Avenue, had a house and was married to an abusive husband. Domestic violence was happening everyday. I was scared, lost, broken, sad and cried a lot. I sold my house and ended up staying with a friend. That didnt last long because my husband at the time started threatening my friend. Eventually she had to make me leave because of it and I had no where to go. A coworker of mine found Glass House for me and I contacted Carol Glass. Carol welcomed me in with open arms even though I had mental health issues. I have bipolar, major depression, anxiety and PTSD. She took a chance with me that no one else was willing to do. When I entered, I was not on the correct medications. Carol helped me find a psych doctor and got me on the correct medications. I lived in the program for 22 months.Carol helped me apply for Disability. It took 8-9 months to get approved and carol was there every step of the way. Being at Glass House, I was able to go to Domestic Violence Classes and learn about my abuse. That helped me become a stronger woman and become more independent instead of codependent. Carol actually cared about my situation and all the pain I was going through. She took time out of her day to pay attention to me and help me through my trials and tribulations. Carol helped me walk through my divorce too. When I was living in one of her houses, another participant ended up overdosing. Now keep in mind, when I entered into the program, I was fully aware that Glass House also is a drug and alcohol program so I always knew that there was a possibility of this happening. Once you live with people, you get to know them. So when the participant overdosed, I was very hurt by what happened and one of the staff members made sure she sat me down and helped me get through it. She taught me healthy coping skills. After that incident happened, I realized I wanted to help in any way possible because they are people too. Staff allowed me to sit in on a Narcan training and now I am certified to administer Narcan. I received a certificate and everything. I am the type that likes to be part of the solution, not the problem!I love the houses that I lived in. At one point, I did share a room, but may I add that I slept in a queen size bed. So sharing a room did not bother me. With sharing a room, it allowed me to socialize and make very good friends who are still my friends to this day. The women Ive met at Glass House are so amazing. I got to know them all on a personal level. While I was at Glass House, Trish took time out to sit down with me and fix my credit. My credit has gone up 23% since then. I am so grateful for Carol and Trish both.I am now in my own apartment. Its a one bedroom and its safe. I am very happy. I feel like I put a lot of effort into all that Ive accomplished. That is why I am where I am today. Not because someone else did it for me, but because Carol and Trish allowed me to work for it and gave me a chance to show my true abilities. My hard work has paid off. You only get what you put into it. For where I am today, I absolutely have Glass House Inc. to thank!

BEWARE HUGE SCAM!!!!!! RUN!!!!! Glass house takes advantage of people in tough situations. She Carol makes her own rules when she feels free without notice. You have no privacy which she does not state but look closely at the ads its there. No privacy at all feels your business is hers too. Her helping is calling 211 which you can do your self. Not worth the money she charges for the room and you share everything with other people in the hoise. She is only in it for the money nothing else. This not a non profit organization, its only profit for her she is a scammer. These other reviews seem to be from aka her staff . she tells you price yet every month she adds fees on and says it for one reason or another. But doesnt add. She does nothing you couldnt do for tour self. Also do research other organization do not help her due to unethical practices. Research before moving in. Oh by the way she steal your things and throw you out with no notice making stuff up on why you need to leave.

They are the biggest crooks I ever met. I never been in trouble in my life and I was treated like a criminal. I moved out in January. When I ask for my money back for the month, she wouldnt give it to me. She kept my belongings. I did win a court case against her. Now I want my belongings. And I will get them or she wont hear the end of me. She acts like she above the law. Her own son was using heroin in the house. 12 guys to a house. Bedbugs and no heat. Refrigerators didnt work right. And not enough room in them. Then she wants you to work for her. Its the biggest scam I ever came across. Stove didnt work. I can go on. I will at a later date. But their in for money and Im gonna do my best to close them down. Anybody who wants to contact me. Im on Facebook under Bruce Ewell. And the rainbow she said she took a picture of over their houses is also fake. She found that picture on FB. Like everything else she stole that too..
