Mostly there for the pool... felt well kept and clean... wish it had more capacity but overall a great experience

Went in for a tour. It was what I expected and then some. Affordable, clean, spacious and exciting. The staff is very down to earth and is all about making sure their customers are taken care of. Best part, I felt comfortable. Definitely bringing my family in, thanks to their plans.That handsome sweet blonde man that gave me the tour was also a bonus lol

Equipment is old, interior is out of date, no towels to clean equipment.-taking off another star because they charged me $50 for the yearly fee even after I cancelled my membership before a week was up...However, the $10 membership is nice.I appreciate them rebranding and making it more affordable, however, that was not enough to keep me there. Going back to my old gym.

This is a great gym. Plenty of equipment and easy to access. People are friendly and the staff is great. Despite what some mask maniacs say, they do a good job enforcing mask wearing. I go almost every day and 99% of people are wearing masks. It’s a good gym community trying to do the right thing. Also has a great smoothie protein shake cafe.

Was working out of town and the hotel only had cardio. Wanted to get a quick weight session in. Plenty of equipment and the process was quick and easy to purchase a day pass. For what I wanted to accomplish $15 was excessive but I chose it over other for the luxury of the plethora of equipment.

Recently visited most impressed with the cleansingness of the the entire gym. I have traveled through the USA an have visited almost all the gyms an this is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work

Izell is absolutely stunning! Love this place, and she is outrageously helpful and very knowledgeable! Being in the military, she has helped me out so much. Totally recommend her and this place.

Nice gym, equipment is all in nice shape and kept very clean. Pool is small only four lanes.Locker rooms are kept nice and clean.

Update*- Esporta doing a better job at cleaning nowIf they cleaned the bathroom and water fountains , they will probably be the best gym in this City. The men’s urinals are very very disgusting ... I think they can do better

Guess masks only matter when you walk in? Disgusting how many people here disregard the safety of others but if theres zero enforcement, people apparently devolve into their worst selves. Do better. Maybe taking photos of all the people not even trying would help?

Nice gym, but with so many staff members walking around youd think theyd tell people to put their masks on. Just shows that they dont care about the wellbeing of the majority of their members. If members cant workout with a mask on like the majority of people there, then they should workout at home and not out in public.

Disgusting facility run by a wannabe GM who more than likely has failed at every other venture in life....including running this disgrace of a gym 😊

Great place for a workout or a swim. I appreciate that they have a mask mandate, although not everyone adheres to it.

A friend gave me a voucher for three months.Decent selection of equipment, there is usually no lines to get in.Im very diligent about wearing a mask, and even though it says its a requirement during the pandemic, a lot of the people arent wearing masks. Even when they are just walking around. Im not sure why they have the rule if they arent going to enforce it. Some of the staff werent wearing masks while they were working. I would also definitely make sure to clean the equipment before AND after using it! The locker rooms are also pretty gross, but Im not sure if thats the clubs fault or if the patrons are just gross.Still, after months of not going to the gym its nice to start working out again. Ill probably ride out the 3 months free and then make a decision.BTW My girlfriend and I have played racquetball there a couple times, the courts are nice, and usually there is no wait.

This review is based on multiple verbal conversations with managers on duty, most recently Austin. None of the staff, starting with Austin, the operational manager are enforcing COVID mask wearing requirements, even though there are warning signs at the front door and the front desk stating that masks are required. They say they are doing walk throughs, and Ive observed very very few of these, and even when a staff member does walk around, Ive observed them bypassing members not wearing a mask, and nothing is said to them. Hypocritical, unsafe, uncaring staff in the midst of a health crisis! I just unfroze my membership a week ago and now have no faith that this LA Fitness in Lancaster is safe to work out in. They deserve to be closed down again unfortunately.

I love this gym. I love LA Fitness. I’ve been going to this location ever since I moved to the area about 7 months ago. It bummed me out when they had to close because of the pandemic so obviously I was excited when they opened back up.That was short lived when I realized that the staff do not enforce masks, despite there being a sign at the front desk saying that they do.I don’t work out there in the morning or on weekends, so I can’t speak for them, but the staff working afternoon weekdays don’t enforce masks at all. They don’t even wear any themselves at the front desk and neither does the guy at the juice bar. Almost everyone walks around without one on, with no one saying a word.The doors to the group fitness room are always closed too, even during group classes, despite there being a sign that the doors must remain open at all times to aid ventilation.This club’s location is literally putting its members at risk right now, so beware.

Very nice gym. Bathrooms could be cleaner, but all in all a good place.

The gym is spacious, there are free weights, universal weights, rooms for aerobics, basketball and I believe racket ball. A locker room with a large bathroom connected to a shower room, one for men and the other for women. There are six heavy bags, and a swimming pool. So the accommodations are pretty inclusive.

I’m receiving direct unsolicited calls. I canceled a membership over a year ago, don’t call me with new offers in the middle of a pandemic.

Club is open and Izell, Austin and other team members are as welcoming and helpful as ever. Gym is very clean with equipment and hand sanitizer all around. Great variety of high quality fitness equipment and really nice clientele.Update August 11, 2020: removing 1 star for repeated failure of club to fix pool heater, the water has been freezing cold for over 3 weeks.

This business is now under new ownership, with a new name and a shift of staff.I received a text from the new owner:Weve had a turnover since then. Weve actually just hired a bunch of new happy faces. Weve promoted up through our employees. So we do have new managers but they were some of our excelling employees that have been here! Those managers are no longer with us.My original review reads as follows:Rarely do I post a negative review, but LA Fitness certainly deserves it. Too many pieces of equipment were down for repair. There was no provision for drinking water for clients. On my first visit, the manager aggressively accosted me right in front of the other gym members, over a mistake she had made. (Two members actually approached me afterwards to apologise on her behalf. She told me that her bad attitude was my fault.) Between the rudeness from the manager, the lack of communication from LA corporate, and flippant employees spending their time performing tarot readings on one another at the front entry instead of looking after guests, I never once felt comfortable entering the establishment. I will not be coming back.

Many cry babies in the reviews . Gym is affordable and adequate . If you are scared of the coof stay home. People need to toughen up

Courteous staff and clean equipment set this establishment above other gyms in the area. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to help people with questions. Also, ask for Brandon or Izell for great rates on memberships!

The facility is super nice. I enjoy going there, just dont let them rope you into personal training. Their staff turnover is super high, so I went through an obnoxious amount of trainers before giving up on it and losing out on money because they could never get me scheduled.

Clean, well-lit, plenty of equipment. They are trying to maintain Covid protocols to keep us safe but not everyone wears their mask.

The bathrooms are consistently dirty, with paper towels and dirt/sludge all over the floor. I have spoken to management about it numerous times but it goes in one ear and out the other. There is mold forming on the shower curtains and no one to clean anything... I would suggest looking into other gym locations.

Izell, the general manager, was extremely helpful . As a guest she made me feel welcomed and explained everything that would be beneficial as a possible new client. She did not make me feel overwhelmed as it can be for a first time visitor. Highly recommend the club as it has everything you need.

LA Fitness is a nice facility. The place is wellmaintained and kept clean. Manager Izell and the staff are extremely courteous. For the price, this is the best gym you can join in Lancaster PA! Highly recommended.

I was a long time LA Fitness member. Visiting family in Lancaster PA I decided to work out here. I asked for a free pass and was refused one when they didnt even ask if I was living here. I was charged $15 to work out for an hour.Machines are old, staff not friendly, and just overall disappointed with the facility.I always recieve emails from LA Fitness stating they want me back. Well I will never return to LA Fitness. TY

Honestly the gym is nice but they dont require anyone to wear a mask in the gym which is disappointing

Izell is one of the absolute best general managers I’ve had the pleasure to meet. One of the best gyms I’ve been too super clean awesome machines and free weights. Highly recommend the gym if you’re looking for a new gym or to change gyms.

I love Lancaster. I have a multi club membership but prefer Lancaster as it is clean and the staff are great. The equipment is in great shape too. Love the GM, Izell, she does a great job.

They’re services are beyond good! The employees they have a extremely helpful. This is by far the best gym I’ve been to in the area!

Ive been going here for about six weeks and really enjoy it. A lot of machines are new or in good condition. There are many to choose from. Lots of dumbells, up to 125lbs. Many plates, so usually no problems even on a busy Monday afternoon. The locker rooms have a changing space, a dozen showers, sauna, hot tub, and swimming pool. The locker room is almost always clean and well kept.

I was visiting family in the area and did my workout there. Couldnt have had a better experience. Clean and well maintained equipment, quiet, no wait (although it was between Christmas and New Year, which might be a quiet time anyway). I particularly enjoyed the fact that the weight plates are round - my deadlifts and barbell rows appreciate it! I strongly recommend this club.

Everyone is very friendly but for the price you pay it could be better. The wifi is absolutely terrible which makes it difficult if using a fitness app. Also the water tastes awful and there aren’t enough attachments in the weight section. Overall the gym isn’t bad but these few things don’t go unnoticed

Izell has been such a helpful manager throughout my experience at LA Fitness. I’ve been a member for years and am now away in Philadelphia at school. Although I am not home much, when I do LA is always very welcoming with monthly/weekly passes for a reasonable price! Great facility and love the equipment as well.

Could use someone full time just for cleaning, as every time I go in the locker room there is trash on the floors. Overall great place to work out with friendly front counter staff.

The new renovation is amazing! The staff is so friendly and management has really created a welcoming environment! The price is great, kids club, pool, basketball courts and classes!

PLEASE do not sign up for a membership here. I was lied to about the length of my “personal training” program, and the club refused to stop billing me $150 a month until I had to deactivate my credit card because no one from the gym was willing to assist / refund me. This was after SEVERAL phone calls to the local club, corporate, etc. They would not even cancel my basic $25/ month membership after speaking with the clubs manager, Ace, 4 times!! My bank had to block the charges. The personal training program is a joke. Save yourself $150 a month and look up workout videos on YouTube.Just wanted to update this to say that the club manager had the nerve to call me months later and ask me to remove my negative review without offering a resolution on the money they owe me. I told them that I would gladly edit my review if they made the situation right, but they refused to offer me anything. Thankfully I was able to get the money back through my bank, because the bank did agree that the charges could be considered fraudulent. I also just want to note that I have never had a similar issue with any other company or gym prior to this. I have never disputed a charge with my bank before this experience.Please be careful giving your credit card information to this gym, especially with personal training. I would also be cautious of the “good” reviews - seems like the manger is desperate to get the reviews up and may create 5 star reviews that are not real. I’d hate to see anyone else go through what I went through with this gym.

Ive had the worst experience with the training program. Not only did I have 4 different trainers in 8 months, but they currently owe me 16 training sessions that I already PREPAID FOR totaling over $640. Every time I call to talk to someone they have quit. Its absolutely ridiculous. Do not go here. Do not sign up for training sessions! Not only will you not get consistency in your training but you will have your money stolen from you!

Best shake bar around, good people who actually work out instead of sitting around. People and staff are friendly and willing to answer knowledgable questions, especially the owner of the shake bar. It is a tiny bit smaller then most LA fitness but you can go there and get the job done no problem, plenty of equipment.

Very clean and well maintained facility, plenty of equipment for your needs. Staffs are friendly. On my first day here I met Kyle. He signed me up and showed me around the facility. He is extremely nice and informative. Overall I really enjoy coming here and would recommended.

Love the option of a sauna, jacuzzi, pool, and free weights! Not many gyms around have the same amenities. Get an account when they are having a promotional sale because if not you will be paying a high fee to join.

Great gym. A lot of room with equipment that works. Its great that they have free weights. The sauna was a selling point for me.

The club is really nice. A lot of new equiptment. Izell was very nice when we first walked in the door, very friendly.

Good variety of workout gear and a nice basic pool for swimming laps. The pricing could be more straightforward and just say ‘no’ to the slippery slope of fitness coaches. You’ll end up spending far more than you thought possible.

Fantastic gym. Staff leaves a lot to be desired for friendliness but the facility is one of the best in Lancaster. Every thing is very clean and well maintained. It gets VERY busy in the parking lot because of the stores next to it which was an unforeseen annoyance. Also getting out of the parking lot onto the main road is a pain too. Otherwise love it. A little cheaper than East Hempfield rec but not much.

The clientele will make you feel like you are working out in the prison yard. Also way too crowded. Poor gym etiquette everywhere and the staff does nothing about it. Folks leaving huge duffel bags in the middle of the free weight area for you to trip on, not putting weights back, and goofing around with their friends while using sought after pieces of equipment like the squat racks. Would avoid if you have other options in the area to work out!

If you cancel, you must follow up!!! this company will continue to change your account for months after your in person cancellation.Spoke to your corporate office, they were doing me a courtesy because this facility dropped the ball. it was a courtesy to keep charging me, until i saw it. worthless. i was refunded 3 months of the 8 months of charges. Be vigilant, and make sure others do the job they said they did. id call and check twice to be sure. if you dont, it will certainly be your fault. The corporate office made me fully aware they were not at fault in this situation.

Best chain gym in town. Clean facilities and helpful staff. Classes are rarely cancelled and the pool is nice too. Plenty of weights and machines for everybody when its not too crowded.

Been a member for over 10 years mainly to play racquetball. The racquetball courts accumulate dust and need to be swept out oftener. Recent renovations are an improvement. Friendly staff but seems like they cant keep employees as new faces are frequent..Cheaper options available if you are just working out but am thankful for the racquetball since it seems to be hard to find gyms with the racquetball courts.

Theres plenty of equipment and never a wait for cardio. The trainers are all knowledgeable and usually available to answer quick questions or more in depth questions like a work out routine. Sauna is nice and hot and there are showers, a hot tub and pool. Love working out here minus the rush hour crowd

Variety of equipment. Plenty of room for loads of people. Great racquetball courts with plenty of active players. Large pool. Staff friendly and polite.

This has been my gym for a while but its not perfect. Amenities are pretty good with a pool, sauna, hot tub, racquetball courts, basketball court, yoga floor, and lifting and cardio areas. Lori and Frank (the managers) are great, but just about everybody else has such a bad attitude and is a bear to talk to. FYI there are very few bar collars to be found. Have asked the front desk once a week for months but no response.

Gym equipment is quite good. There are two linear leg presses(fantastic) which I rigorously use 3x aweek. Handball/racquetball courts is a real bonus feature, since I used to play one wall in Nyc.The pool, spa, sauna, and showers are clean and well managed. The only complaint that I have is that some gamers work on two machines at once. If the machine is open, I expect to have the right to use it- not wait until the gymer finishes their 2 station routine.

The gym isnt bad but it isnt my favorite LA Fitness. Its slightly out dated and this is one of the only gyms where people have not returned their dumbbells or barbells back so you have to go hunting which cuts into your workout

Austin gave us a great tour and signing up was easy and quick. Coaching and amenities are great and the place is clean and well organized!

I’ve been going to LA for almost 6 months now and I can definitely say that the gym has everything I could ever need. The atmosphere is very energetic and the equipment is always mantained to the highest quality. The general manager (Izell) is super helpful and answers all questions and concerns without hesitation. I’d most certainly recommend this gym!

Too crowded and felt intimidated by the body builders. I joined another gym and feel happy about my devision.

Went in to check the place out , the intent was to get a membership in a couple weeks but I wanted to make sure they had the equipment I needed . Seemed like a decent gym not reliant on smith machines like planet fitness and dumbbell weight was much higher than planet fitness as well. Spoke with the sales manager who really did try to give the hard sell but thats normal for most gyms of this nature.I explained that I just wanted to check it out and after talking to the staff I was planning (and I told them this) to join in a couple weeks to get initial finances in order because they have an initiation fee of $99.00 then you pay first and last month dues then 3 months in to the agreement you have another annual fee that is tacked on. Why an annual fee before a year is beyond me but it is what it is and I use my current gym membership daily.They tried to get me to split pay so to speak but thats not how I handle finances if I can afford to pay out of my expendable income I do, but money thats not allotted for that isnt touched. In other words cant afford to pay for it outright wait till you can.I get a follow up communication a few days later asking if I was still interested, I explained I was and it would be a couple weeks. Later that week I get a call from them and they say the rates are going up the following day and in order for me to get the current rates I would need to get in that day and sign up. Originally I thought well just do it then bite the bullet and put it on the card. It then dawned on me why would they all of a sudden raise the rates and how convenient that was as they were really pushing hard for this enrollment (which if they had left it alone they would have gotten ironically enough). And really how the hell would you be able to explain that rates didnt go up after you tried to tell me they would be going up the next day?I did a little research and then decided I wasnt going to go in and if the rates increased my bad I would have to pay. I also followed up with their corporate office regarding the rate increase the next day. Turns out now its been 4 days since the supposed rate hike and the corporate office had no info and the Lancaster website pricing hasnt changed either.Bottom line this was a shady tactic to get me in sooner, That being said I decided I wont be joining now because if thats how they handle you as a potential new member then how ethical are they going to handle your payments and such. It also left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I couldnt go in there and look at that person without knowing they tried to trick me into signing up early.So now Im left with one choice which is Universal athletic club as golds is now gone in the area and planet fitness just doesnt have the level of weight and equipment I now need to improve (I am currently a planet fitness member not a bad place just not allowing me to reach my full potential). Guess Ill be paying for Universal , it costs more but they didnt try to BS me and lie about rates going up in an effort to try to force me to sign up sooner than I was ready. (two weeks is all they needed to wait and while I get not everyone does come back to sign up I that was the plan hence the review).As of today rates are still the sameUpdate they obviously dont read the reviews or half of these are fake to keep the rating good, got a text message advising that if I came in on the past Monday / Tuesday they would cut the initiation fee in half. No go for me ethics are a big deal to me rates didnt change they tried to force me in sooner than I was ready based on lies. Ill be signing up with Universal Athletic club tomorrow. (Same time I was going to sign up wth L.A. until they pulled some shady tactics.) Ironically the base membership isnt much more than the LA fitness membership (although Im going a higher tier) and they were honest and upfront with me no pushy sales people either very pleasant.On the lighter side universal athletic club is an excellent option and while a bit more they have more amenities.

Packed in the evenings with some guy using 5 plates at the back extension machine. Go at 5 am, you are a lot better off. Wish they opened at 4 am!
