I got a simple haircut and blowout. My stylist did a great job. She was very thorough. And they ask more questions about your hair than a lot of hair salons, so I feel like its easy to get what you want. It did take awhile, because she took her time and made sure my hair was cut and styled right. I am very happy with the results. Well worth the great price.

This was not a positive environment. The instructors were rude to the student and had no problem letting them know in front of everyone. The teacher-student professionalism needs work.

Its people learning how to do haircuts coloring and styles its cheaper than a normal beauty salon and the instructors look over everything that the people are doing and Ive never had a problem with being there

My mom went to this school and loved it but when my dad was hit on his motorcycle coming home from work she had to stop going to school to take care of him. She wasn’t aware she had to get paperwork in order to be able to return and when she found out she did then she went straight to the school. The director was insensitive and asked her “why are you here??” & when she told him why, his response was so cold it upset her. She was shocked because he was so nice when she first started. I guess he’s just rude to people who can’t finish

I saw Lindsey C this morning for a color consult as well as a wash, cut and style. She did a FABULOUS job! The instructors were close by, however she didn’t need them except to be checked off.Loved the atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back for color services.Side note: tips are accepted in the form of cash only!Thank you Lindsey, you rock!

I can a great experience with empire school. Everybody was so friendly from staff to students. Very nice atmosphere. The young lady who took care of me her name was Courtney. She was very professional and really nice and caring. Ill be back.

I am a recent graduate from Empire Beauty school in Lakeland and I could not be happier with my experience. I started school with very little knowledge about hair color and chemical services. The teachers were very resourceful and knowledgeable. Anytime I had a question about anything, they were right there helping me. If I didnt understand something, they would explain it over and over until I understood and felt confident in what I was doing. The tests in classroom were challenging and the knowledge really stuck in my head. When I graduated, I had no doubt that I would pass my state board exams due to the staff helping me and giving me all the resources I needed to study and prepare for one of the biggest tests of my life. I definitely recommend empire to any person interested in cosmetology.

I had had an AWESOME experience at Empire beauty school!! From the educators to the future professionals!!! My stylist was Courtney Merrill, she was charming and caring of my personal concerns with my hair. She genuinely cared about customers satisfaction more than anything.

Billie Rae was very engaging and took much pride in her work. She continually took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and happy with her services. I also thought that the teacher, Ms.Lawanda, was knowledgeable and glad to give the students tips on how to save time but still provide great service.

Go at your own risk. The students are great, but the no-good Director and Front Desk Manager, Lisa are useless! They do not take ownership of their mistakes and can careless about customer service. What horrible examples they are for their students!

I have visited empire in Atlanta several times and my complaint there was the wait time but the staff and most if not all the students knew how to do ethnic hair. Well I have visited this empire in Lakeland about three times and the past two time I have been disappointed. The first time I was upset because the girl did not dry my hair thoroughly and tried to flatiron it but of course it would not flat iron. One of the educators told the girl my hair wasnt straightening, because of split ends. The educator response indicated she did not know how to do ethnic hair because regardless if I had split ends or not, my hair should have straightened which is what another educator told her once she came over. I was clearly disappointed and once the educator that understands ethnic hair came over, she used it as a teaching moment for the students. The students gathered around and the educator blow dried my hair, straightened it and cut it. She also gave me a complimentary service the next time I visited because I was in the salon for about four hours. All of that happened on 05/03/2018. I finally went back today 09/14/2018 and I used my complimentary service that was given to me. The student was nice but again she did not understand ethnic hair. I have natural hair with major shrinkage. I wanted shampoo, blow-dry, deep conditioning, and trim. The educator told the student to clip my ends wet. I told them no because I have a lot of shrinkage. I got my hair straightened and again it would not straightened. My hair looked like it was washed and blow dryed. I asked could it be put in a ponytail because it was not bouncy or pretty. The trim was nice but the educator or the student did not understand how to do ethnic hair. The student took a before pic but she definitely did not take an after pic which I dont blame her because it was not good work. I know you cant choose your stylist if you are a walk-in but if the educator cant teach student how to do ethnic hair because they dont know themselves, it only makes sense that you choose a student that knows how to do ethnic hair. I told the student she either didnt dry my hair completely or the product she put on my hair was causing it to curl back up. I will find another place that understands ethnic hair because it is sad that I have encountered this problem two out of three times. I can understand the students not knowing but I dont understand why you have educators that are not well rounded.

I go to empire back home in Indiana.And have always been pleased. Well I cant say that for this place.. No one was friendly they took forever for my hair and my sister had a horrible pedicure

Enrolled but something came up so Im unable to attend this year. Told them I would be able to next year. Yet i was treated absolutely horrible in front of my child and friend that was with me. I will be finding a new school for next year. I cant believe the staff went from being overly nice to so rude. From the way he acted it seems they only care about the money.

I attempted to make an appointment for treatments. The guy that answered the phone couldnt get me off the call soon enough.Before he knew what I wanted, he stated that I had to come in for a hair test.... ummm what?? When I told him that i wanted a mani/pedi, a facial and a simple haircut, he said i still needed to get a hair test.... for a haircut!?! Ya, just come in early and wait... No thanks!Ive gone to other beauty schools for treatments, usually very good experiences and great pricing... Im terrified to even step foot into this place due to the lack of customer support i got on the phone. I cant imagine trusting the staff working on me.

They are amazing I had a terrible experience I had a lady do my hair and she messed it up so much I had really blonde roots and orange hair with dark spots thru out I was so upset I didnt know what to do I cried for two days I contacted Empire beauty school and they said to come in and let them look at it. When I got there I talked to one of the educators Mr. D who was so nice and told me n it to worry they can help and fix my hair and to come back at 9:30 in the morning. I got there at 9:30 still feeling down not sure what my hair is going to look like well it turned out amazing for the first time in my life I absolutely love my hair the two ladies that did my hair were Taylor and Finkle with the help of Mr. D they were so sweet and so awesome I told them to pick the color and pick the cut and it turned out amazing I am so happy and I am smiling walking out the door everyone here was so nice and helpful and just wonderful. So my review is 5 stars if you want to get your hair done where they consider everything about your hair how you wear what you do with it and do an amazing job making it look good then go to Empire beauty school because they take care of everyone who walks thro the door and are just wonderful

I am now putting in my review only because a old coworker of mine was still attending. In respect to her I feel bad for doing this but Im not happy about it at all. First off I have good and bad things to say about the school and my experience. As I asked for a ombre it seemed she didnt know exactly what I wanted, I did show her pics in which she showed her instructor that way guiding her step by step. ..mind you she was going graduate in two weeks I DONT KNOW HOW. Im not mad at her or whatever its the instructors and the school that just let these poor girls graduate with no knowledge or minimum knowledge at the most. Going forward my hair hadnt been dyed in over 3 years so it nwas basically virgin hair therefore the bleaching was fast and effective but that wasnt the issue, you see she was just brushing it on like if she was just dying my hair she didnt tease it to make it blend down and also bleached it high up almost to my roots very uneven and blotchy. It looks like I have stairs in my hair of blonde streaks!! Im NO EXPERT but jesus my kids couldve done it better. .... the haircut she didnt do the instructor did and I asked for layers not choppy uneven all over the place layers. You know everything these students did was positive and great job lol where? ?? My friend also got a perm and theres no curls! ?!? Im sorry but Id never go again and to pay $18,000 for the cosmology course sounds pretty ridiculous. Good luck graduates you wont be keeping any job too long. ..

Omg! This is a fantastic school and a great, fun environment. I had partial hi lights, shadow root color and a cut done and I’m so happy with it! Samantha did an incredible job and Mr. Robert(her instructor) was very helpful and supportive of her throughout the appointment.Does the process take longer than at a salon? Yes. But, I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute of it! The results are fantastic and I will definitely be back!😊
