Not the best massage Ive had but also not the worst. Just be mindful that if you list an area of soreness (e.g. neck and shoulders), the whole massage may only focus on that area. Was disappointed that my legs only had less than 5 minutes total for the whole 50 minute full-body massage. Left my calves very sore because they didnt actually massage much of anything. Also paid extra for a 15 minute scalp massage but once again focused on not my scalp but those areas of soreness I listed before. Not what I asked or paid for so only gave two stars.

I have to give Spa by the Sea in Kaanapali a bad review. I reached out to the spa by phone all the way back in July to make an appointment for my wife and I to get a couples’ massage on the beach for our honeymoon. This was one of the few things she and I wanted to pre-book well in advance because we knew we definitely wanted to do it. When we got there, we were told that I only had one appointment in the books for a single person to get a massage. The customer service was extremely lacking, as they didn’t apologize at all for the mistake or offer any suggestions for making this right. They weren’t rude per se, and they canceled the appointment with no problem, but I thought it was very inconsiderate that they were the ones who made the mistake and I told them I booked this months in advance (July for a September honeymoon) and they were unwilling to offer a single suggestion to help make up for their mistake. I would not recommend them for this reason.

Had the most amazing 80 minute massage on the beach! Melissa is absolutely the best. A lot of masseuses ask what you want but most just do what they want. Melissa listened and addressed everything I asked for. The amount of pressure was perfect! If you’re looking for a little bit of heaven while vacationing in paradise call the Spa by the Sea and definitely ask for Melissa!

Had a couples massage on the beach during a vacation nearby. Chose this spot due to the proximity to the beach, although later found out that many of the resorts have a very similar setup - this one felt a bit more private as it was on the beach side of the walking path, rather than resort side.Masseuses were excellent. Note that the couples massage will put you in separate cabanas - they simply wouldnt have enough room to work if in the same cabana. Both masseuses were able to recognize tightness in our bodies and work them out, including giving more of a deep tissue massage at no additional cost. The overall price is quite high, especially if you include a tip, but it does give you access to the resort spa for hydrotherapy, sauna, etc if you want it - which helps alleviate the cost.

Overall poor experience. A few things everyone should know:1. The current cabana setup is not as pictured. They have two cabanas set up next to eachother, on the resort side of the busy public walking path. They also do not have room for two people in one cabana, which was not indicated when we called and they booked us for a couples massage.2. They instruct you to use the hotel valet, and do not allude to cost. Its $10, no validation available.Additionally, and why I have to give it a 1 star review: No where on the website or duing the booking process or phone call is it indicated that they will not do any massage on any pregnant woman, at any time during pregnancy. (There is no medical reason to limit massage during pregnancy) To get there , change, and have my wife be told they can book a facial 3 hours later is a complete frustration.
