I came to this dental practice yesterday, for cleaning since I was looking at the best introductory deals for new patients. The deal included mouth x-rays, a full-mouth detail, and diagnostics from a dentist. Being that, I hadnt had my teeth cleaned professionally at all last year and I had lost my dental insurance due to losing my job during covid. I was hopeful that I would be taken care of feeling great with a nice fresh start.I came to the practice 15 minutes prior to my appointment at 2:30 pm. The young front office assistant, Annalisa, greeted me and was very friendly and nice. I paid for my visit at the start of $59 and was called in to take x-rays of my mouth. A lab tech, Brian, took my mouth x-rays and I was led to my room to wait for my cleaning. I waited for a good 30 minutes until the dentist, Dr. Taherian showed up and read through my x-rays on the screen with my mother close by. Dr. Taherians personality was friendly and personable. Though I was kind of taken aback when the Dr. asked me if I wanted to get my teeth cleaned today as she wasnt sure if there was time on the schedule for me. I replied, yes as that was the main reason I had come in. I was sitting in the dental chair for about an hour now, thinking that this practice wasnt up to par when they didnt understand how a schedule worked, when someone books an appointment.Since I already had paid, I waited to see what would happen. The lab tech, Brian, came back in my room and started setting up for the cleaning. My mom had asked him if he was a licensed hygienist, and he just responded that he knew how to do general cleanings, crowns, and x-rays but was not licensed.I was feeling a bit anxious and worrisome as he started to clean my teeth. From what my mother and I were seeing was that he had only used one scaling instrument for my entire mouth. He did not go under my gum line, and only cleaned up the food that I had just eaten. The little cotton that he used to take off the plaque from the tool, fell on my chest and he didnt have any respect to pick it up. In addition, when he tried flossing my teeth, he did not do a proper job of cleaning my teeth. Instead of the proper flossing technique of pulling the floss down and gliding the floss in a C-shape formation on each side of the tooth, the technician just pulled the floss through each tooth, without getting under my gums. Earlier, the dentist had said there was a small deposit under my very last tooth under the gum pointing to where it was on the x-rays, and when we told the tech about it, he pointed to another area where he thought it was, which was not the same spot. Next came the polishing, which was pretty bad as well. The polisher did not hit all of my teeth and definitely did not hit the gum lines. It seemed as if he was scared to touch my teeth as the polisher barely touched them as he only cleaned 1mm.My mom had asked the tech if he could measure my gums as we had that service with past cleaning appointments at other dental offices. To our surprise, he said that he did not do that and it was a job for the periodontist. This entire cleaning of his only took 34 minutes total. A thorough hygiene cleaning usually takes about an hour. The dentist came back in and checked it for us and we asked her if she can do a double check of the pockets in the back of my mouth. She double-checked and we are still unsure if she got the tartare in the back. But she did offer a complimentary Chlorhexidine rinse, which we agreed to since my mouth wasnt not thoroughly cleaned. We also asked her about the lab tech who had just done the cleaning and she said he was good and that he was one of her assistants.I was very displeased with this service, and do not plan on coming back here. I thought overall the experience was unprofessional and not very thorough. The fact that there was an unlicensed individual cleaning my teeth was very concerning as he did not do a proper cleaning. If youre looking for an ethical dental practice, do NOT come here.

I moved to Long Beach in 2011 and changed all my medical providers to doctors in Long Beach—except my dentist. I came to them after over cleaning my teeth and destroying my gums. They were able to repair my teeth and take care of them ever since.Christina is always extremely friendly when I arrive and she is able to get me checked in right away. It helps to have such a positive person right when you walk in. Jade has been my dental hygienist for years now and every time I see her she does such a good job. She gets my teeth clean and makes it a pleasurable experience. When I tell people I’m going to the dentist, they always react with an ‘I’m sorry,’ and I tell them I actually enjoy it! Dr. Cook is my new dentist and she was great and thorough. I am comfortable with the transition. Overall, I make the drive from Long Beach ever appointment because it is worth coming out here. Great service and I have not had a cavity since being in their care. You should definitely come here for all your dental needs!

The whole staff is amazing. I normally dislike the X-ray process but Bertha was great at making sure I was comfortable and got it done in no time. Allen honestly gave me the best teeth cleaning ever. I didnt feel a thing and it was a painless, easy process. The whole experience was easy and professional from check in, x-rays, assessment, cleaning, billing and scheduling my next visit; it all was a breeze.I had a lot of work to get done and when I came back for my next appointment I went to get almost all of it done. I was somewhat nervous to get so much work done at once, but Dr. Cook and Isaac made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I had a lot of work done and it felt like nothing was being done. It was painless, comfortable and about as good of a dental procedure as I could ask for. Dr. Cook did an amazing job on my fillings and the other work I had done. Thank you to the great staff here. I would highly recommend if you need to see a dentist that you go here!

I am in love with my new Dental Group. Dr. Shabnam Taherian and everyone at Laguna Beach Dental Group are the sweetest people. The office is lovely and my experiences have been 5 star! Dr. Taherian took such great care in explaining my tooth concerns and she delivered exceptional service--as did everyone I interacted with in the office. I feel so lucky to have her and this great group right here in town. I cant wait for my kids to meet her for their visits next week.

Doctor B, the owner of the dental group, was rude, mean and rough with me. He was over an hour late leaving me in the chair and then when he finally came to see me and I told him that I was running late as a result of him being late, he became rude as if it was my fault. He then gave me a shot to nub my tooth and then five minutes later began drilling. When I told him I still had feeling in my tooth, he seemed angered and told me well you are the one who was in a hurry. I will never go back to this man. I am so surprised he is still in business. On a positive note he has wonderful staff who are more than polite. I feel sorry for them that they have to work with such an horrible unprofessional man. I would not even give him one star but you are forced to so this so the star is not for him but for his staff who I would give ten stars to for having to deal with him on a daily basis.

My son is a patient of record and has been for a few years. Over the weekend he broke a tooth and was in severe pain. I called the emergency line and left a mesage...no reply. Called again fours hours later...no reply. On monday i called the office to try and get him in. Even after i told the receptionist his symptoms she told me the soonest he could get in would be in two weeks! Really, i mean come on really. Myself nor my family ever went back.
