7 AM appointment, neither the doctor or nurse was on the premise until after 7:30 AM and wasnt seen until around 45 min after the scheduled time. People walking in and out of the area I was sitting with no one asking if they could assist me.UPDATE: Finally received feedback that there was a computer glitch in their scheduling system. Apologized profusely and was very helpful after it was realized.

I specifically requested a yearly visit to check my bloodwork and get my thyroid medication renewed because my insurance covers one yearly physical. The doctor was kind enough to prescribe an extension on that medication until that visit, however after my visit I was billed for that visit (exactly what I was trying to avoid). When I called they argued that I was the one who didnt schedule it properly and therefor it wasnt a Physical, it was a follow up(after I specifically requested a physical so it would be covered under my insurance). The person I spoke to was rude and offered no compromise, tried to make it seem like it was my fault and offered no apologies (Even though when I asked her If I schedule a visit next year that is a physical, can I also get bloodwork done at that visit to check my thyroid levels for my prescription refill and that would be considered a physical and not a follow-up? and she admitted that yes I could, so now Im out $150 during Christmas time and a pandemic because they billed something incorrectly). Complete disregard for the customer and the fact that I already pay way too much for insurance so that I DONT have to pay out of pocket for my condition. The doctor was great, but the administration is terrible. Never going back here.

Understands that I am not made of money and will give me some suggestions as far as cost wise. I love the fact that hes not out to just throw you some pills and throw you out the door. Hes super knowledgeable about recovery and JW! Truly awesome! His nurse is amazing as well! Im always in fast and out as fast as needed. We actually moved almost an hour and a half away and if at all possible I will continue to make the drive to keep him as my doctor!

Dr Campbell is a great physician that listens and treats my husband accordingly. I am very disappointment with the attitude of the staff when we went to the diagnostic facility this morning. I realize not everyone loves their job but as patients we should not be aware of how miserable the staff are. The staff was rude and provided no direction as to what they needed prior to the testing. We will continue seeing Dr Campbell but will not go to the diagnostic department for any further testing as the staff were awful.

I am extremely grateful for this practice, and these doctors!!! I honestly find them to be very professional and caring. I WILL NEVER go to another practice as long as I can stay with them.Dr. Emily Edwards is my primary care doctor, and today I needed to go to the doctor for some major concerns I was having related to a recent surgery. Dr. Edwards was not available, so they got me in same day to see Brian Kerr, PA. HE WAS AMAZING! He did everything he could to answer all of my questions. He NEVER rushed me for even a second, and he was truly caring and concerned. He walked me through everything he wanted to try, and tests to run, and then he explained the next steps.I feel that both Brian Kerr and Dr. Edwards went above and beyond in my care, and I feel completely safe with my care in their hands. And, I say this as someone who believes that naturopathic and allopathic medicine are both valuable but I lean more toward preventative and natural wellness. I say that just to express that this is the first time in a long time I have felt so cared for by doctors. All of the other office staff were very professional and efficient as well. Thanks!!!

Loved Dr. Mike Otis who is now retired. He treated us, my grandparents and parents with loving care and professionalism! But talking to a Dr. Jonathan Dee was far from that! My son, Ben, was on his honeymoon in Jamaica in August 2017, and was sun burned so badly he got sun poisoning with chills, fever, diarrhea, and upset stomach. I could get text messaging from Ben, but no cellphone call. I could call him, though. The Dr. there at the resort was not in til the next day, so I called Summits answering service around 11:00 pm and explained the situation and just wanted some advice from the Dr. on call for Ben. Remember we have been patients there for over 30 years. My 4 sons who are in their late 20s and early 30s there since they were 18. Dr. Dee called back close to 11:30 and when I answered hello, he right off says what do you mean calling this late....! Heres my Dr. office Dr. thats on call and he starts saying I cant do anything for Ben, hes in Jamaica. I went on to explain to him that I only wanted some advice to help Ben to get a little relief somehow from his bad situation. And that Ben couldnt call him, himself. He could call Ben if he wanted to, but that I would just relay the info if he didnt want to. He said he didnt, and thats when I went off on him. I told him he was no kind of Dr. that Id ever dealt with. An uncle was a Dr., my niece is a Nurse Practitioner, and that he was a fraud. And I hung up on him! Hes still a fraud, if you ask me.

The people are nice but the company over charges way too much in an attempt to take advantage of insurance companies. Its $130 for the regular, Hey can I talk to the doctor about my problems office visit fee. I went in network with my insurance that has a large deductible and because it was in network they courteously take it to $103 per office visit... Sarcasm intended... Ive always been able to go to clinics for between $50-$70 per visit and thats with no insurance.. The office doesnt tell you your bill till they send it in the mail. The last visit I had I specifically asked if I would be charged again for the follow up and they said no, but then did anyways. Upon post-billing inquiry they then told me they always charge the full office visit fee even for follow up, howre you doing? visits... Good place if your insurance pays for everything, otherwise save your money and go elsewhere

Dr. Smeltzer is hands down the best doctor Ive ever seen in my life. He has helped me tremendously. His nurse was just as amazing. I, however, have to leave a 1 star review because Im considering never going back. The fact that someone who is generally uneasy with the medical field and has white coat syndrome has found a doctor I feel comfortable going to saying that should speak volume. The post visit experience from Summit Medical Groups billing department and the Deane Hill Office manager was a nightmare. They caused me as much or more anxiety than than anything I have faced in a month. I was charged for a visit that I called about prior to make sure it was covered by insurance. It was confirmed by both the office and my insurance. Tracy the manager was extremely rude and talked down to me like I was a child. I had all of my facts together, had spoken to my insurance company, has spoken to the billing department, not to mention had spoken to both my insurance and the office prior to service to ensure that the trip would be covered by my insurance, just to be treated like I was a scam artist. Tracy was the decision maker and she wouldnt listen to me. I was calm for as long as I could be explaining multiple times that what she was assuming wasnt true, however she would not let me finish my explanation. The only way I could resolve this was to call my insurance and hold while my rep called the manager back and after 20 minutes of her explaining to the office manager she finally broke through. Tracy finally realized it was a billing error and to be honest Im pretty sure they werent following ACA regulations in their billing practices. It took me a month to confirm that my bill was paid and I was on the phone for over 3 hours in total. Between talking to customer service, my insurance, being on continuous hold. It was a nightmare. I was given many customer service feedback prompts from Summit Medical and in every single one I put my phone number and requested a call back. I have yet to receive one so it is evident to me that is only for them to build a positive online perception and they have no genuine desire to provide customer service. I hope that if you are looking for a PCP you will find one as amazing as Dr. Smeltzer without ever having to deal with a Tracy.

I felt very uncomfortable during my visit at this location. The ultrasound technician had inappropriate music playing during my visit (singing about not wanting to die but wishing they had never been born...), and I had to ask her to turn it off. She had the young front desk attendant, a girl who seemed like an inappropriate choice to bring along for a private imaging, come in and watch. This seemed inappropriate because she should have chosen someone who could have been a nurse or someone who was a part of the medical staff. They didnt do anything illegal that i know of, but I felt like my privacy and comfortability was pushed to the limit when normally I am not bothered about things like this.

I have been here twice now and it will be my last. Both times, I was seen by Dr. Bellingrath one because I thought I pulled my back nerve, and second when I had a bump on my foot. When I told him about my back he advised I wait 2 weeks longer and I take Tylenol and hope the pain goes away. I told him this has been going on for 3 weeks and my feet feel pin and needles like as well as hot, but he still advised to wait. I can understand that the medical field is sensitive when it comes to misdiagnosing someone but after telling him thats no good he finally said we can take a aggressive approach and give me an X-Ray, finally! We found out I was right and he prescribed me. I didnt take too much offense by that until my next visit. I came back two weeks ago because I had a bump on my foot and needed to know if it was a blister or a wart. He looked at it for about 5 minutes and said I dont know what this is, so come back in two weeks and lets see if it gets bigger I told him again Ive already waited to see you and it has grown in size each passing week. The amount I was charged both times was a hard pill to swallow when nothing was done. No tests, no prescription, nothing! To sum things up. Dr. Bellingrath is not someone at all to see unless you want the come back in two weeks talk. And being charged quite a bit of money both times for little to be done. If anyone is willing to reach out to me about more Im more than happy to explain

Stay far away from this place. I didnt have a primary physician and went to Dr. Schmeltzer and Summit Medical based on a recommendation from a speciality Dr I was seeing. At my first visit they stated they would submit a records request for my files from the various speciality doctors I had been seeing and contact me after reviewing the records. After 3 weeks of waiting I contacted their office, havent received the files yet. After 4 weeks, havent received the files yet. Then 5 weeks and then 6 weeks, each time I called they also made it clear they had not even contacted their own records department to determine the problem. What? Finally, I contacted my orthopedic surgeons office and discovered that Summit Medical/Dr. Schmeltzer had not even submitted a records request at all, they had been lying to me the entire time. When I called them out on the fact they had made me wait for 6 weeks and lied about even attempting to retrieve my records Dr. Schmeltzer had his secretary call me and say that he didnt want to see me anymore. No problem by me, because I was never going to walk back into their office anyways I told them. However, that action, their failure to acknowledge their own wrong doing and instead blame it on me is why I came here to share my experience. I never write reviews but I am appalled at the unprofessional actions of this doctor and his office staff. I highly recommend anyone reading this to pursue other options for your medical care because this organization definitely does not CARE.

To wrap it up in a nutshell, there is NO sense of urgency with anyone in this facility.I went in on a Thursday, with dizziness and vomiting. Saw the dr assistant. Was told it was vertigo. By Tuesday, I was still horribly sick. Called back and got the drs nurse. Insisted it was vertigo and sent me to a psyiotherapst. The therapist confirmed that she didnt think it was vertigo either. By Wednesday, I was throwing up blood from the irritation where I had been sick for so long. Went to the ER. They did a Ct scan. White blood cell count was at 32k. Suggested I see an ENT to rule out vertigo and see if there was infection somewhere in the ear. ENT said that it was not vertigo or ear related at all. He would suggest a neurologist. This was on Monday, 12 days after the initial visit to Summit. I called Summit and informed them what was going on and the lady says that she needs to ck with the dr and see if they want a follow up there before a referral to a neurologist. By Thursday I still havent heard anything so I call. Nurse calls me back and is still insisting that it is vertigo and it could 3 months to see a neurologist. Now it has been 17 days. When I asked her what Im suppose to do, I need to go back to work, her reply I just dont know what else we can do for youI HAVE YET TO SPEAK TO THE DOCTOR.Two months ago, I took my son in with a rash. They said he needed to see a dermatologist. After a week, no contact from them. I called and SAME nurse advised that the doctor was just overwhelmed and just had so much going on.Dropped off FMLA papers to the office. Took 3 weeks to get them filled out. There is NO sense of urgency or importance with anything they do. I understand that they are busy, thats why I continued to put my trust in them. Third time is the charm. IM DONE. my children, my parents and I will be looking for a new primary care doctor.

She comes in, asks a few general questions, is VERY short with me. She also asked ME whether or not I THINK I NEED THE X-RAY done. Youre the doctor! YOU tell ME!!Now I know youre thinking well thats not that big of a deal, im sure its expensiveBut to top it all off, once the x-ray is done and I am sitting in my room..I hear Dr. Cynthia Simmons talking to the nurse, she says, Im just going to put NEEDS PLENTY OF REST, thats all he needs, haha!Nurse: ohh haha thats so meanDr. Cynthia Simmons:haha but its so truemy door was open for me to hear all of this conversation. So the doctor walks back in gives me my papers, and says the prescription is at the pharmacy. No explanation of what might be wrong, no test, no advice, not anything.Just laughing and making fun of me right outside my door. This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had at a doctors office.Im sure there are good people there, that care, and want to help, butDR CYNTHIA SIMMONS is definitely not one of these people.I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK, AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.The custodians at an ER care more than this doctor.
