Yesterday I walked into Lake Washington Endodontics to meet with Dr. Gavin J. Convey for the first time to determine if a root canal was the best procedure in saving a tooth.Under normal circumstances, I would have asked a family member or friend to accompany for support. Based on COVID, I elected to go alone. Any kind of association with dental treatment becomes anxiety driven in just making the appointment.As I entered Dr. Convey’s office, Lydia, greeted me with a kind smile which was evident through her colorful COVID mask covering. She was patient in explaining the paperwork and answered all of my questions. I appreciated her practice of taking my temperature and using all the precautions during this unsettlingCOVID time.Next, I met China, Dr. Convey’s assistant. She was kind, soft spoken and thorough in explaining the steps of taking better pictures of the tooth and jaw area. She made sure I was comfortable in my setting before Dr. Convey introduced himself.The best way I can summarize this review is to say thank you Dr. Convey for listening and asking the questions pertaining not only to the solution and choices of this procedure, but for offering reassurance in treating the whole human being. His illustrations on the computer screen made perfect sense of what was going on with this crown and the jaw area. He offered options and no pressure for an immediate decision. He and China were with me as we took each step in preserving this tooth. They worked as a smooth and caring team to make sure I was comfortable at all times. Ive got referral from my dentist to Lake Washington Endodontics with horrible toothache. At the same day they took care of me. Personal was very professional, kind, and nice. My special big thank you for Dr. Gavin Convey. He painted on x-ray image what happened to my tooth and what he is going to do. After a few shots my pain disappeared and he started to work with his very professional assistance. I dont remember how long it took to finish root canal, but after it was done and till now (on other day) i dont have any pain. Just need to recover form the previous pain. If I could give Dr. Convey and his assistant more than 5 stars, I would. I was referred to his office by my general due to a root canal that needed to be redone. My dentist could not do it. So many good things to say:1. Loved the online registration2. His assistant made me feel 100% comfortable as soon as I entered the office - right on time3. State of the art equipment4. Dr. Convey was wonderful, friendly, thorough in his explanation with what happened for me to experience the pains Im having and thorough on his explanation how he can correct it5. Felt no pain whatsoever from start to finish and he constantly checked on me to make sure I was ok. I felt no pain at all that I fell asleep in and out while they worked on me...such a comfortable environment.6. After the procedure, he went over what I may feel and expect for the next 24-48 hours - clear and concise.I cannot recommend this office enough if you must have a root canal!! Thank you Dr. Convey!!

Dr. Convey is one of the most competent caring health care professionals, in any field, Ive ever encountered in my more than six decades of health care use.I have called him in not one, but two, emergency situations subsequent to appointments with different dentists and, in each case, he has called me back within a few hours; in one case, scheduling an emergency root canal for the next day and, in the other, giving me three referrals to oral surgeons in whom he had confidence, for a procedure he, personally, does not perform.The root canal he performed was so nearly pain-free, including the palate-numbing injections, which are usually excruciating, that when the injections were completed I said thats it?. I went to Dr. Convey in need of a root canal. Ive had a problem with it being a hot tooth with referred pain. The tooth wouldnt numb up. I had pretty bad anxiety about that and almost didnt show up for the appointment. Dr. Conveys entire team was kind to me, very informative and ultimately eased my anxiety. Dr. Convey took time to assuage my many fears, patiently answered all my questions and then numbed up the tooth without problems. I elected to have Nitrous which helped me relax as well. The procedure was quicker than I expected and I had NO pain after. Thank you Dr. Convey and everyone in your office!

Dr. Gavin J. Convey is a young professional, with a fun Irish accent. His office was nice, his staff and assistants were sweet, knowledgeable and accommodating—and his equipment was state of the art. My personal dentist referred me to Dr. Convey for a root canal, telling me that she’d had excellent feedback about him. Im a bit of a white-knuckle patient, so I was not looking forward to having the procedure. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was quick, painless and even (a little bit) relaxing. I was given ibuprofen before I left the office, which was all I needed. I did not have residual pain after the procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Convey at Lake Washington Endodontics!

Doctor Convey did a terrific job on my emergency root canal! He was able to keep my crown and I cannot tell the difference! Relatively painless where usually having to keep your mouth open that long even with the wedge is difficult, but this time it was a breeze.Hes a quiet dentist, not much chit chat with his team during the procedure and I appreciate that level of professionalism. I have little teeth and I imagine that this makes the process more difficult. I felt that he was really concentrating!I highly recommend!

I needed an urgent root canal as mine flared up quite quickly. The office fit me in on the same day for a consultation and booked me for the next day for removal. The procedure was done in an hour and relatively no pain. I went with the Gentle Wave procedure. Dr. Convey explained the procedure with pictures of my tooth from the xrays, and he was gentle with my tooth. I even got pre and post xrays for my own records. I didnt need pain killers after the treatment. Id definitely go to Dr. Convey if I ever need one again.

My root canal went very smoothly, and relieved all my pain! Very skilled specialist. Previously, I had a lot of pain for 6 weeks that two dentists couldnt identify, with no further suggestion for me. I hesitantly went to a third dentist (on a Saturday) and she thankfully recommended endodontist Dr. Gavin Convey. His front office receptionist was very helpful.

I cannot recommend Dr. Gavin Convey at Lake Washington Endodontics enough. I have a real fear of dentists after terrible experiences in the military. I ask for nitrous oxide for every procedure. After talking with Dr. Convey I decided to try without. He was calm and described the procedure and even showed me a diagram of my tooth. I am usually gripping the arm on the chair so hard it could come off. I actually fell asleep during the procedure!! It was totally painless. I almost always require more anesthesia during the procedure but not this time.His staff is friendly. I called early in the morning because I was having severe pain and they got me in the same day and performed the procedure. He has very state of the art equipment I have never seen before.If you are in need of root canal therapy I highly recommend Dr. Gavin Convey.

I honestly am so very impressed with Dr. Convey. Ive had a root canal done before and the previous experience left me traumatized - I would start panicking just thinking about it and I was looking for iv sedation because of the fear. However, the reviews made me give it a try and I couldnt agree more with all the compliments. Doctor is so caring and so attentive that made me feel comfortable about the treatment.The treatment itself was the best experience in my life - I did not experience any pain whatsoever (that has honestly never happened even during a simple cavity filling with local anesthesia). Even after the procedure theres no pain! I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff is wonderful, the doctor is AMAZING and I had the best experience ever. Ive never been happier with a visit to a doctor let alone root canal treatment!

I was referred to Lake Washington Endodontics just before Christmas by my Dentist when I was in fairly urgent need of a root canal re-treatment. Dr. Convey was able to see me the same day and relived the pressure that was causing pain. I returned to his office today after a course of antibiotics to have the root canal re-treatment done. It was a virtually pain free process which I attribute to his skill as well as his use of modern technology. I am impressed by Dr. Convey’s skill and bedside manner. I found him to be caring, honest, clear and reasonable in his approach. He has put together a great support staff as well, from scheduling at the front desk to being looked after by his dental assistant Chyna, it was all top notch.The office is clean, modern and seems fully equipped with the latest technology. I also have to give a hefty nod to the level and detail of their cleanliness and sanitation practices, as a germ conscious person it was noticed and appreciated.

I needed a root canal treatment and chose Dr Convey over the specialist my dentist referred me to because he was in Network for my insurance provider. I am very impressed with him and his staff. A+ for communication with pre-treatment estimate, getting info from my regular dentist and another endodontist and post procedure follow up. Received a full summary with pre- and post- treatment pictures and copy to my regular dentist within minutes after leaving the office.Also getting an appointment was easy and I had the procedure done the day after I called them for the first time. Have had several root canal treatments with different doctors in the US and Europe and it is never a great experience. Dr Convey did a great job keeping me as comfortable as possible and he swiftly performed the myriad of tasks involved. Hoping not to need another major procedure anytime soon but if it comes to it Dr Convey is going to have my trust.

Professional and the procedure for the root canal was quick an nearly painless.

I have had, at 80 yrs old, many root canal treatments, starting way back when I was a student at UW. This needed re-treatment was the first time one old root-canal has failed. My experience being treated by Dr. Convey was outstanding,. His demeanor, care in explaining what the treatment would be, executing the procedure with no discomfort, and providing feedback to my regular dentist with a copy to me, was, to me, far better than any other dentist specialist I have encountered. I can not recommend this wonderful place enough!!I had to get a root canal that had been suffering extreme pain all weekend and a partial root canal that was painful as I wasn’t numbed correctly.
