Aegis Lodge has given my family the ultimate gift. After 2 years as primary caregiver for my mom at home, the move to Aegis Lodge has allowed me to return to the role of daughter. My time and energy are spent on love and connection rather than physical tasks. The staff genuinely cares for my mom and has taken the time to get to know her. Her care needs are met consistently and always with respect for her dignity. I can sleep at night knowing mom is safe and comfortable.

A great facility with friendly, caring staff. Long hallways to take your mom or dad on nice walks, and a few outdoor seating areas to enjoy the nice Kirkland weather. With well versed cooking staff tending to the elderlys dietary needs and an astounding nursing and care team staying on top of the medical needs, you can rest assured to leave your loved ones here. They will be well cared for and be a great part of the Aegis family!

Im a former employee, and I will say that this is hands down one of the best places Ive worked for. The residents are taken care of extremely well. The staff all work together as a strong team to make sure that all residents needs are met, also treating everyone with kindness and with respect. The kitchen staff work very hard to make great options and delicious food for the residents. Always delivering every meal with a smile and ebnjoy getting to know every resident personally. Everyone for House keeping to the GM, care very deeply for all of the residents well being, they show tremendous amount of respect, and will always try their best to make everyone feels welcomed home.

I live in England and am the niece of Ruby L Smith who is in Aegis Lodge. Until the Coronavirus epidemic I visited my Aunt twice a year but of course cannot come over now.I am most impressed by the care given to my Aunt. I ring her every day and she is always telling me how well looked after she is and she couldn’t be in a better place. She is 96 years old and so grateful for the care given as I am and to know that she is in good hands.I am kept informed of how the Aegis is coping with this epidemic and to have kept the residents safe is so admirable. Such is the care.

I have never written an online review but I have to do what i can to warn other families. My father lives in the assisted living section. Prior to March/April of this year we were fairly satisfied with his care. The building was clean, the caregivers seemed genuinely concerned for his well-being, and we felt respected as family members. With a change of director in March/April of 2012 we saw a huge decline. Many staff members just disappeared including both nurses, both activity directors, and the patient care coordinator. Almost everyone who knew dads history was gone within a few weeks. Other staff members then began grumbling to us about pay, longer hours, and unfairness about promotions. We had never heard one complaint from the workers before the change in management. Dad is now cared for by a different caregiver all the time - all of them telling us theyre new. Well, yes. And where are the other caregivers? The staff tells us that they apply to work elsewhere as soon as they can. Stephanie, the director told another family that families think there is a lot of turnover but really she is just ADDING to the staff. Then where did all the people go who we had depended on? She is not to be trusted. The climate in the building is negative and the care has become substandard. We will be moving dad as soon as the month is up. Many other families seem to be leaving as well. Hopefully the parent company will notice and step in with changes so the other residents will get better care.

I almost didnt tour this community based on the review I had seen from last year but I still did and I know this was the best thing I could have done.As it turns out, I came in the midst of a change of directors. My mom had been living at a community in Bothell (Chateau) that could no longer take care of her, in fact they were about to ask my mom to move out (this was a community (non Aegis) with no memory care which now all the sudden they have?). The guy who used to run Aegis Lodge (which I guess from the past review) ended up going to Chateau and Aegis ended up getting a new team. I moved my mom in to Aegis last April. As I said, I didnt get to experience the past team but this one has been nothing but exceptional to my mom. The nurses email me or call me at least twice a day to update me on my moms status, making me feel as if I am the only family member they care about and I know many families feel well taken care of like I do.The activities director changed recently and my mom is a lot more engaged. I have seen a lot of improvements, both upstairs and in memory care as my mom is a candidate for their memory care when it expands next year.My mom hated the food at her last place and when she moved here she wasnt too happy but the team even worked on a special menu for her and she is a lot happier. I would really recommend everyone to not just make a judgement without talking to residents and meeting the staff and the community. I was really pleasantly surprised and glad I followed my instincts.

We had our Mother at this facility for 2 years and took her out almost 1 year ago. Not enough care givers for the amount of patients and prices go up every month!
